I remember when those Transtars were new. That wrap around dash was state of the art at the time. I always thought they were cool looking trucks also
I had a 280 Cummins on the early 90s . They erected very fuel sensitive if the system has an air leak or the fuel filter starts to clod with s++t they will either loose power or stop altogether I know from experience! The fuel gauge was reading 1/4 fuel but was empty, ran out of fuel on a motorway (UK) called out tow truck and the driver was useless and didn’t know anything about Cummins. All he wanted to do was tow me off the motorway to a garage 20 miles away . No way was I doing that ! So , I taught him how to bleed the system and left him scratching his head , disappointed he didn’t get the towing charge . These engines are pretty bulletproof if you take care of them.
I love what you do. It's so exciting watching you and your partner getting things done. Can't wait to see the house get done. Now this truck and engine. You have so much experience and knowledge of everything you do. I'm from Vancouver BC Canada. Keep up the good work......
Thank you, I wouldn’t say I have a lot of knowledge, im just really good at learning from mistakes lol
Those International cabovers are badass looking
I USE TO FILL MY FILTERS UP TO TOP WITH FUEL BEFORE I PUT BACK ON............I FIGURED YOU KNEW THAT BUT I JUST HAD TO SAY SOMETHING. IM ENJOYING THIS VIDEO TO DUDE!!!!!!!!!
I love these videos. Keep up the great work. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Will do!
Max helping Dad!!!
you don't really need to justify taking the engine you need from that truck. now, having said that, that truck is completely restorable. in fact, it's a pretty good restoration candidate, but again, it's your truck.
Exactly. It's like history that we will never see again being discarded.
I thought that. I have watched (far too many) posts where people have restored things that were in a much worse state. Then again you have to be prepared to find people to take it off your hands and that itself takes up time and effort. I do admire his courage taking on such a big project and doing it mostly on his own. Well done that man.
It depends how much money is worth to a person, and if THEY even want the truck. Because yes they restore it, and they just don't like the truck. Too expensive and not worth it, and how about YOU buy it if you feel like you have any say or control over someone else's project, parts vehicle, or their own preference

@@haydenrubly How about YOU read my comment and try to comprehend what it means. Man can do whatever the hell he wants to do with his own truck and yes it's a restorable truck. Maybe you should learn to read before running your mouth.
my favorite parts were after two chains snapped and the old gas engine leapt at you. you brought up safety. and then out came the hard hat. hahaha no its an awesome video guys! me my dad and brothers snapped many chains.
Kinda funny when you put it that way lol
Watching that Cab crash down broke my heart.
It was hard to do man
Me to
I like it already, a classic needs a little TLC BUT looks like a lot of fun to me
Hi, this is Milton from Brazil. Congrats, great job back putting on the road this engine !!
Thank you, great to hear from Brazil!
I definitely would have saved the International at any cost. Would have put a fifth wheel on it as
Well to pull trailers
I would make a little cabin on my property!
@@timothyhill9146 sounds like a great idea, go for it
@@timothyhill9146
Do you have any idea how much it would cost to restore that thing? By the time you get done you would have more than twice what it's worth in it. A Kenworth, or Pete would be a better choice. And a truck in better condition to start with.
@@bertgrau3934 Yeah, at that rate you could buy a barn-kept international for about the same price.
yup what a beautiful canvas of a truck
Suggestions: shorten the chain, put the chain over bucket gives you more lift, and please dont get in and out os the skid steer when the arms are up. You have a buddy have him hook the chain.
Good advice. I gotta stop getting out with the arms up. Old habits
I dont blame for not wanting to keep that International cab. I drove those things when they were new, the Cummins engine, Eaton transmission, and dtive axles were great. The cabs were junk.
Killer content…first video I watched and I’m super impressed! Keep on truckin
This channel hopefully takes off for you my friend, really in depth and interesting videos. Im sat watching here in England so its getting out there. Look forward to the next one.
Thank you. It’s cool to see people watching from around the world. I had another guy comment from Ukraine
Cool, all of us around the world are the same anything with a big diesel engine and you got our attention lol. Good luck with the rebuild my friend.
@@rollo6038 I guess so, its really neat to hear from you guys in other countries
It would have been nice to see the old international back on the road but I also understand the financial side of it to.
I once had a 1972 square body Chevrolet truck & to someone it would have been a nice project but for me I wasn't willing to pit a bunch of money in something that I would never get back.
Hopefully the diesel engine will be good to where your dump truck can give you year's more on the road.
Those transtars are old school cool!
Great project, your a hard workin dude, subbed to your channel !
Thank you, really appreciate that
Great effort. You deserve success.
Thank you
I REALLY wanted to buy one of these, but didnt follow through. Glad you did!
😍im a 39 year old girl but i was 13 when my granddad was teaching my to drive his old transtar 4070a
That’s cool
I hear ya about the cab if the international
You were like kicking yourself about taking it off like that.
If you have to spend more money than you'd like.
And you didn't have anyway other way if taking the can off, ya gotta do what ya gotta do
I'm sure the cab is still there, so whoever wants to buy it, it's there
OLD CAB MADE A COOL TREE HOUSE OR DEER STAND
International Transtar is a good truck, Pulled a lot of furniture, in my 48102 drop frame, And theres nothing wrong with the way they look.
You could take that cabin, put it on a dodge mega cab, Dooley frame with some stacks and pull your RV around
I csn understand wanting to use the engine to out in the dump truck but the cab over is not a waste snd is definitely worth saving in my opinion.
Super cool project. Subbed and looking forward to part 2.
Thank you
glad i hooked on mate im very keen to hear her fire up in the new body
Cab would make an excellent kids tree house
When I was a kid those were everywhere and running local and short regional runs.
If anything has to be scrapped let’s just all be thankful it’s an IH!!!! 😊
You are brave walking through that thick growth around this truck! Watch for ticks!
Could easily be fixed and roadworthy again.
Sadly you need to win the mega lotto to completely rebuild the truck to peak performance grade…
It is pretty expensive
Awesome we can not save them all.
I can see parts being used on many projects.
Plus you can use frame towards lean too on container.
That truck could easily go down the road again. Hell i drove something almost worse last week! Throw a second driver under it,a plate and haul corn n beans for 20 years.
Every truck in the woods has animals living in it. What makes that one any different from the rest. A bunch of people would see that truck as very restorable.
If the engines painted yellow with the cat
Love this swap!! Well worth the time and effort!!!!!!!!
You need to take up the chain more when lifting with the skid steer !
Awesome video, love your channel👍👍👍👍
Thank you

There's a running 88 gmc general with a 6v92 silver near me for $3k.
The engine is worth about that
ypu do what is best for you, and keep maken this nice content
Name Your Dumptruck :
FRANKENTRUCK IH TO A FORD
That’s a mouthful lol
I had to resub I wasn't getting notifications I'm kinda biñge watching what i missed in 3 months
After cooler says its a CUMMINS. Likely looking closer a 350 big cam, that was a popular engine for the transtar 2 then. Depending, it might be a 400 though unlikely but maybe. If it is...KEEP IT🤙
I Think lifting with the skidsteer is esier with an litle cranbom
I agree but I don’t have a crane boom
I thought for sure, That skidsteer was going to flop forwards, thats a heavy engine.
It was close
Hello from Glendale Arizona USA
Very cool
The chain broke, well well there's a surprise.
I would like to have the cab just to put it on a different chasing more updated version.
I’ll sell it
It is a Cummins probally a 290 hp or 300/350 hp bigcam.both would be 855 ci displacement.
OK I disagree with the Cool Factor, Old Peterbuilts and Kenworths are every ware today, but you never see the old Corn Binders and WT900's and alike, I would love to see something done with that old girl
would be cool to make a RV out of this thing
OK GOT LITTLE DINNER MADE READY TO WATCH ONE OF MY NEW SHOWS 99 PROJECTS
I’m glad you enjoy it. I appreciate hearing from you
Part 2 please
When you say, "saved from the scrap yard," Don't commercial yards keep vehicles for some time in order to sell parts before crushing the rest to melt? and don't they vary considerably in how long they keep stuff depending on how much room they have? So if you can find a yard with lot's of room with which to sell parts for a long time, isn't that better than keeping stuff like the cab for ornamental purposes? though I suppose you could also keep the cab for parts storage and eventual parting out after classic value grows with time, in addition to ornamentation.
I suggest that anything you can't sell soon should be spray waxed to preserve it, especially whenever transported past a car or truck wash with spray wax. Then perhaps you could make a video about photographing and documenting all your parts for internet sale, and then if you don't want to bother selling all the spare parts you have, find a yard with lot's of space to do that for you, or wax and store the parts in your own space in hopes their collectibility appreciates over time, though with metal parts, this is best done in the desert, which also is not potential farmland.
No, that's called hoarding. You are the type of person to see, lets say an 70s square body in very rough shape. You see it getting scrapped. You'd complain how it's worth fixing and what a waste. Space doesn't equal storage. Extra room goes the extra mile.
@@haydenrubly And how many square miles are in the great basin of central Nevada? The limiting factor is not space, it's scrap metal. and no, the bad ones should be parted out to save the better ones, but still not crushed, and it is 30 and 40 year old vehicles that will be missed when they are 70, just like 70 year old vehicles were mostly crushed 30 years ago.
@@haydenrubly I'll put it this way; there are very few 40's or 50's cars that I consider worth putting on my limited parking space, but there are a bunch of 70's cars that I would, first among them being a Datsun 610 wagon. And I am currently welcoming 3 Dodge B series vans and a '68 Chevy school bus, though the bus is primarily for storage and has no engine, trans or title. I like 70's cars better and devote more of my land to them even if '50s cars might be appreciating faster. I also think noses are wasted on furniture when they can repair minor collisions on running vehicles.
I wish I owned a few square miles of desert, but I don't.
That is my dream truck.
From here looks like a 290 Cummins
As soon as you walked up behind that big cam 350 Cummings I knew it would run. After a fuel pump fresh fuel filter bleed the line new air filter. And you could even call #dieselqueen and do a collaboration.
Transtar!!!!! I did my road test in one of those
Show!!
Cummins Big Cam III
Nice music.
Thanks
Too bad to hear about the cabover and the cab It still holds quite a bit of value just in Trim, Parts, etc., where in Michigan are ya finding these!? I can barely find any most are in worse shape than yours and still going for 5-8k.
I still have the cab, really only the visor broke when it fell off. I saved all the gauges and switches and hope to incorporate them into the dump truck. Try to preserve as much as I can
@@99Projects damn straight brother that's cool. I found a Detroit Astro I'm trying to get. 8v71/9spd spicer. I'm near Holland mi, you?
@@SchnelleKat that’s cool man, I’m not in MI
@@99Projects Oh i thought you were.
Looks to me like a Cummins in line 6 turbo diesel roughly 350 horse power
I can see you don't know anything about a diesel when you change a filter you fill the filter before you put it on because it won't pull the fuel through so always remember if you change a filter fill it up before installing back on the engine
you bought that truck from my father. I always wanted to restore that ol cabover with him, but his health went to shit...
What are you doing with the Detroit? I will take it for a little project.
It doesn’t have a Detroit
Solar cab just by itself there’s a lot of guys that would like to stick that on a 1 ton Dooley frame
I’d sell it
Well done, great fun
What’s going on with the dump truck I’d like to see more. Enjoy your show
It’s coming along. Hopefully have a part 2 soon
Heck you got a sub you should have more subs your content is just like Andrew camarata great vid I’ll be sure to stick around
Thank you,
Is that a wiring diagram or a Puzzle maze
NEVER jump start without SAFETY GLASSES. !!
Most USers hate cabovers that's why you don't see them in NA often. Same people hate european cabovers even more.
Is there a part 2?
I would have saved those marker lights on the International's roof.
I wish that I had
Incredible proect.
Have you fixed the blue big block.
No, no use for it
It's a 300 Cummins engine.
Nooo! 😢 time stamp 31.00
BLUE WAS DETROIT AND NEW CUMMINS ARE BLACK AND RED NOW .....I THINK ITS BEEN AWHILE
Just drive it first because it doesnt look bad at all?
I wish he would just be honest and say the international body means nothing to me, i just want the engine. Ive drivens vehicle's in worse shape than that semi as a daily driver.
Use the engine and transmission drive lines every thing
I plan on it
When making an adaptation, call a Brazilian!, we are the best in gambiarra (=adaptation!!) kkkkkk
Did you finish it?
A lot of it, still some work to do tho
I think there cool looking also
The cab over or the ford

Pensé q el cabover seria restaurado ya q estaba en buenas condiciones, q desperdicio q lastima
oh boy are u guys going to get an education,,,,i think your rear end gears are going to be a tad slow ,,, 2100 max rpm on the cummins vs 3500rpm on that 534,,,, that 350 weighs 2700lbs
The rpm’s on the Cummins are 3500. The Cummins weighs 1400lbs and the trans weighs 600.
The 534 plus it’s two trans probably weighs close to 1000/1200lbs. I can’t imagine what weight would have to do considering the Cummins has 400hp roughly and double that in torque.
What part of NY are you in? You may be a neighbor :)
Sorry, I know it's not my truck, but really not impressed by the way you treated that cab. With a bit of thought it could of been removed so much gentler.
Yeah, I get life is messy and it’s not my place….hurt my heart to watch though. He said the cab ain’t hurt though, looks like the lower fenders are fiberglass and the grills are a dime a dozen, so it could easily go to a new home. But, not my truck, not my place to make suggestions.
Бачачи його, згадую Термінатор 2😂
Cool
Be careful that could be Optimus prime 😮
It could be, there’s no way to know
Can you Imagine the the dirty oil in the engine. You think you would of drop all fluids in the motor.even that dirty fuel filter all that is going into the injectors.not wise at all.
HA HA HA HA LOVE IT
