as a 16 year old who struggles with gender dysphoria, i sometimes feel as though i'm being mocked when i see people all giddy about identifying as things like paint, cars, etc. it honestly makes me feel like a joke. but i also know that it's none of my business, so i just keep quiet. it's difficult because i can't really talk about it amongst my peers without being labeled as transphobic. i just feel like, while we should allow freedom and self-expression, we should also have barriers. (i hope that made sense.)

In grade two there this one teacher who was telling my class that the only way to define who you are by trying out new pronouns. So she bought pins and asked us every day what pronoun would you like to choose. After a day my parents moved me out of that school.

It’s not about power it’s about fitting in. Your thinking of it as way more extreme then it actually is. These children don’t have any power besides TikTok which is basically nothing. What this really is, and I hate to say this to my fellow LGBT members, but it’s kids who have had trouble fitting in, so they create idealised versions of themselves for attention they didn’t receive previously. It’s sad but it’s something they’ll grow out of once they figure themselves out properly, the next generation of kids will do something similar but different and those same people will complain it because they don’t understand it.
