As a senior in high school the dude in the yellow shirt was speaking nothing but the truth, the teachers don’t give homework. Or anything to challenge the students and the work they do give us is so easy and the lessons are so short we spend the rest of our class on our phones. The students are always fighting each other and the teachers it’s actually insane.
its been 3 years since i did math, my Algebra 2 teacher gave up after like 2 months when 2-3 kids would show up and i was the only oen paying attention. we started watching movies instead :) . he never gave us a test either.
I wish they didn’t. I sometimes spend like 2-3 hours a day on homework. Idk what classes your taking. It got hella stressful last semester and I’m only a junior..
@@localmilfchaser6938 considering I took most of my required classes plus did summer courses I only have 3 classes and they’re all easy. So I probably shouldn’t have put my two cents in😭
I’m 17 and a junior in high school and I can say with confidence that this generation has if easier than then other generations. You’re not punished the same, you can access what you need to learn way easier, bullying is less severe, you really have everything you need to succeed. My school literally took away a required class because too many people were failing. It’s tailored to include everyone.
Also quite literally we have google. My parents had to ACTUALLY study and go to the library through textbooks and stuff to study for their paper exams. Back during my covid senior year we'd just copy the first question into google and find a quizlet.
The guy in yellow is so real and grounded, we honestly need more people like him. Life was black and white back then, I feel like, and simple. Now, there's so much gray area where people getting offended and shit, and it's honestly setting us up to fail. I'm honestly scared cuz these cheating kids are future doctors and shit. 😬
I don't think going back to simplistic un-intelligent thinking is a valid solution to addressing modern problems. It's very sad that anti-intellecualism is becoming more popular in the US because of so called "woke" identity politics from all sides. The people of the US seems to be in this state of modern day dissatisfaction from current day complex conversations about identity, faith, politics, society, and more due to their lack of ability to conceptualize slightly nuanced topics. Your nostalgia is clouding your judgement.
@@originai1840 exactly he was making some good points but that I want to be a kid and ignoring the other topics like digital footprint isn’t gonna go well moving forward most likely, good luck to him though
Everything Ryder said is 100% facts. The takes you have in this video are spot on. I'm currently a senior and my Auntie is a teacher and she says the exact same things. It's a mess, administration just wants to push kids past their grade. They can't fail kids, barely any work is given, its a muck bro. I know a ton of people who just sit there and coast not doing any work and passing at the end of the year, getting into colleges but don't know anything. It might be the location but it's definitely very easy. We don't even get homework either because kids don't do it lmao. People are doing drugs in the bathrooms, security does nothing. Kids can run around and do whatever they want with no consequence.
How is school easyer because kids are failing? You're basically saying school is easy, but you're still gonna fail anyway. schools not pushing their students to succeed does not make it easy, if anything. The administration is failing its students by being lazy and allowing the students to do the same, and that would only school harder because your goal at the end of the day is to graduate you can not say that school is easyer because it easyer to fail
@@itzcoolcream kids AREN'T failing is what i said. it's almsot IMPOSSIBLE to fail and you are never held back. teachers are told to do anything to pass kids. they can do nothing all year and still pass with a C. you are right about administration setting kids up to fail, but in doing so it makes getting through highschool incredibly easy.
@rylvn My point isn't that school is a hard place to succeed in if you are putting in the effort it's the school environment you described is one where the distinct isn't even trying to help succeed not holding kid back and allow its students to so what they like could not be a good learning environment just one of very easy distinctions that stun your ability to succeed I don't know what school you go to are went to but my school district definitely didn't just pass students though I lot of people at summer and plenty retaking classes I wouldn't say that the school I go to was like the one you described although definitely having it problems you describing a terrible leaning environment while also saying how easy it is to pass just did not make any sense to me and sound more like people were miss a hole lot of credits and you didn't know.
@@itzcoolcream people miss a lot of credits and retake classes during summer or get sent to a different school. just the workload in general is very light and easy to pass.
Every kid wants to be seen as an adult. Once you’re in your mid 20’s you’re gonna realize how much knowledge and maturity you actually lacked at 16/17 years old.
People actually wanna be viewed as adults? I wanna be as childish and happy as long as I can 😂. Obviously serious when you need to but i don’t get these kids trying to act like adults and wasting their childhood
i think adulthood comes down to wisdom. cause in the end, you can be mature/responsible and a kid, or immature/irresposible as an adult. i don't really think that that's what defines our aging transition. it's more on life experience
Exactly. I guess the true young adults have the humility to NOT refer to themselves as such. I’m 20 and halfway through college, and I barely consider myself an adult.
@@alexandriashaner9767 as you shouldn’t. Good on you. I’m 25 turning 26 in september. I’m surrounded by many ppl my age. Trust, you’re still naive well into your twenties
Part of my growing up and maturing was realizing that most adults U will meet are just grown children. It was shocking to me to realize that age has absolutely nothing to do with maturity
When yellow shirt said “i wanna be like a kid for as long as possible” im 16 that hit hard. i dont look sketchy at all but all the adults seem to think im up to no good constantly compared to when i was a kid.
as a highschooler, yellow shirt is absolutely on the mark, a lot of this kids are absolutely less disciplined then they probably were back then, especially the freshman who missed the last year of middle school cuz of covid they are absolutely horrible, i don’t even wanna see what it’s like with them as juniors or seniors, also damn near everybody does drugs and practically everyone i see is vaping, but i don’t do that shi so i can’t speak to it. overall, educationally it’s probably a lot easier, socially and behaviorally it’s pretty god damn bad.
Ryder is a self thinker and is very based. We need more people like that not just followers. It just seems as if the other kids don’t believe in what they agreed with and only chose it because everyone else did.
Ryder is what's up. I am a teacher myself, and this is fascinating. I wanted to teach in the US at one point, but eventually turned it down before the pandemic, and I couldn't be happier. School here and globally vs. the US is world's apart. Edited to say obviously not everything is perfect where I am (Ireland) but my students don't fear for the lives. That is one thing.
It depends on what those teenagers are doing. Some people are in fact making adult decisons while in highschool. Taking care of their families, sacrificing their time to earn money ect.. so while they are “kids” by age some of them are adults by habit.
I do think it’s harmful to overall view highschoolers as adults though because obviously there are weirdos that will take advantage. Those are still kids.
Yea but generally speaking, u really think hs students can GENERALLY be labeled as adults? Yes there’s outliers who are very mature and take on a lot of responsibility, some have even been thru difficult life experiences which they grew from, but GENERALLY hs kids are kids that’s just a fact
@@jnoytb You chose to ignore the “some” in my first comment and the “I do think it’s harmful to view highschoolers as adults” in my follow up comment lmao. I also said “those are still kids”.. You literally didn’t say anything I haven’t already said you just replied to say something without saying anything 😂
Ryder the type of kid to have a good future and grow up and find success, respect *bro just kept speaking fax, he was so reasonable it was kinda wholesome Like they said, he’s on a different wave these kids were too late to get on, good for him.
Y'all were definitely on point about kids needing social interaction because as a senior now, these freshman at my school skipped almost all of middle school, some did and opted to stay online for their 8th grade. You can tell they still act like elementary school kids but with the extended freedom of highschoolers
Also the thing about school being easy is definitely true the middle school lowered their requirements to pass when the freshman were in middle school. But I can't only blame them because I doubt that they learned much over lockdown. Like 85% of them probably just closed the door to their room and said they did something because I doubt their holding an elementary student down at a computer for that long But the teachers aren't free either because the middle school teachers say they have kids that don't know how to do basic multiplication and division which is sad because they say no one made sure they knew it and just kept letting them go forward and now they reached a point where their failing in record numbers because they don't know what they're doing
Being in highschool and 16 almost 17 where everybody is on social media and doing these different experiences and feeling left behind or missing out on some is always something on my mind , but using no medias ect ect , it was a relief seeing the kid in the yellow shirt say a lot of what he said.
Seeing people like Ryder give me hope for our generation, I’m a freshman in college and there’s so many disconnected from reality and dumb people that it’s crazy, not much people you can have a real conversation with
Going to school in the UK, after hearing what yellow shirt had to say I was shocked. In the UK school gets harder and harder as the years go on. Hearing about how homework ain’t even given to the students is crazy to me. In the UK you get about 1-2 hours a day per subject depending on the school and would have a few days to do it. School in America just seems way softer than here in the. UK
What school did you go to g, even when I was in year 11, granted we did 11 GCSE’s which is standard, they weren’t giving us 1-2 hours a day per subject. That’s literally impossible
But yes, they do seem softer. The guy said that they don’t do anything for your homework if you dont do it but that doesn’t necessarily make school easier. I would argue that it’s harder if you dont do your homework as you miss content and revision practice.
My personal experience in high school was that there was always tons and tons of assignments, increasing as I got to be a senior. Not saying that’s wrong but it was nothing like yellow shirt for me. Also my administration made SURE to crack down on anyone that so much as tried to break the rules. Yes I feel like we have more resources to succeed in school, but I feel like the constant teachers who don’t care about you just trying to give you assignments so you don’t have time to do many other things is difficult. My high school experience was personally pretty hard
As was mine, but with the progression of the internet It's significantly easier for HS students. I graduated from hs in 2019 and pursuing medicine at telecom. Extensive tools etc.
I graduated hs last year and had the same experience, so I think it depends on the area you’re in. I was in a competitive school district so there was a push to get high grades
4:51 I would say that students today have it much easier than students in the past, primarily due to conveniences like technology, but also because schools are becoming more lenient! Ex: I was behind in school because I had a learning disability, aka being lazy. I was placed in a "small group" because of my "learning disability." This meant that whenever I had to take a test or quiz, I would go into another classroom with a few other kids and the teacher would read the questions out loud, and if it was math some students were given a calculator even though we weren’t allowed to have them. Eventually, I got out of this, but I noticed that the so-called "small group" wasn't as small anymore, mostly in middle school and high school. This means a large majority of students today can’t read nor do basic math. So yes students today have it a lot easier and I blame the system for it.
Teachers, Professors and employers are so much easier on students and employees nowadays. I'm 19 and I admit openly that I'm nowhere near as disciplined as my parents were at this age. I'm working on becoming more disciplined but because of this generation, nobody holds you accountable for your actions. You can skip school or work and face no consequences. This builds the mindset that you can skip out on things such as going to the gym because you don't have that subconscious part of your brain telling you, you must go.
Yellow shirt hit on every single point. Definitely had the most mature way of thinking. Especially about the sexuality question, there’s way too much peer pressure with that stuff nowadays
As a teen, I got social media at a very young age, one of my friends doesn’t have TikTok or Snap or anything and whenever the topic comes up in a conversation I always tell him to never get it. It’s better to be shelter than be exposed to all the stuff on media.
I'm in secondary school in the UK and due to the technology and recourses available the school actually sets up more homework since they know there is more information available
Ryder is amazing. I've been contemplating deleting social media and this video just made it so clear that something like that would be the best thing to do. Also, as a high schooler, Ryder came up with the best answers and everything he said was true. Great kid who was raised amazingly. I have a friend who doesn't have social media, me and him are 16. He's more of a workhorse, he knows what he's doing, and he cares about more important things. Although I just finished my sophomore year with a 4.5 GPA (weighted) and a 4.3 GPA in my freshman year (weighted), my friend is still much smarter and knows much more than I do when it comes to important things (he also has straight A's/4.0+ GPA). I am still a very mature kid and I am much smarter than a lot of people in my classes, but it just goes to show that social media kills your motivation and sucks you into unimportant topics. If I never had social media I'd be a more well-rounded, disciplined, motivated person and I would be a lot happier with myself.
as a highschooler myself, i would say school was harder back then than now, bc now there is really no punishment for acting up, we can get way with thing too easly
Ryder straight-up spitting facts every time he spoke. I personally fully agree with him on a lot of things. I didn't get social media until senior year and It was because I realized it would make it easier to connect with people in college and shit. I have to say though I agree with the being a kid as long as possible. Sure you need to start taking responsibilities as you get older and you do less and less things but even in college I still very much feel like a kid or a young adult. I feel like I have the ability to try new things and make mistakes but still grow.
I’m going into my senior year and I can definitely confirm that it’s a mixture of teachers not wanting to deal with entitled parents and kids, not wanting to learn. I know kids who have failed almost every single class every year of high school but are also rising seniors like me! they don’t hold you back anymore they’ll just tell you to take a five week course during the summer, pass with a 70 and move onto the next grade. And honestly, they are doing our generation a disservice because everybody in our generation thinks that they’re smart and possess many other great qualities that they objectively DONT! I go to school in the suburbs, half the kids here, think they grew up in the hood they smoke weed in the restrooms they try and fight teachers and their parents are in the top 5% of earners in the United States. In my opinion, our generation needs to be humbled! and quickly
The second thing ryder said is facts, I’m watching this in school right now. Teachers are way more laid back to what I’ve heard they were like back then.
Back in the 70's, 80's, etc, a 4.0 GPA was enough to get into any great college. Nowadays, grades are inflated because some schools in my area allow you to take a test 3 times and have a minimum of 50% on any assignment. There are tons of people with 4.2's, 4.3's, and much better, so if you don't go to one of the easy schools, you have to work 3x as hard for the same grade.
The part about students not respecting their teachers is real. It's really sad to watch because none of them are allowed to do anything about it. I would personally never condone teachers being allowed to hit kids or hold power over them like that because that could lead to some pretty horrible teachers, but I wish I had still had enough faith in high schoolers to pretend like its possible for everyone to treat our teachers like human beings without any restrictions.
I think the difficulty of the classes you take matters a lot in terms of the difficulty. This may be because of the school I went to, but there was so much academic pressure to perform to the point that suicides would happen relatively frequently. When I think about it the difficulties of today's generation stems mostly from the factors outside of school like social life and social media. While school itself seems easier on the surface, I think due to those factors mental health in today's day and age is at one of it's worst, even with all of the resources and benefits that are available.
8:50 i think the hardest part rn is just having an incentive to wanna go, even when you give the standard answer it isn’t enough 💀 kids have always skipped school over life circumstances in the past but now days its simply to stay and play games at home wth
As someone who just left highschool(19), Ryder is spitting faxxx. The toughest part of our gens high school is the Covid part, other then that everything has been the same for legit the past 20 years. Got to just find a close friend group of a few people and focus on the things that help you mature as a man such as sports, fitness, money, and other passions. All the typical worries like attention from girls, popularity, and judgement from other guys will become easier as you improve within these realms!
I'm 20 & my friends & I still do typical kid activity when we're out & about, while totally disregarding the means for attention, it's more to stay content with ourselves to sway further from feeling devastated & bored.
Don’t think your a teen till 16-17 as that’s when you’ve gained some independence from you parents. I think your an adult when 85% plus of your dependence on your parents is gone
Ryder is on point with the homework thing. I go to thomas jefferson high school for sci and tech which is supposed to be a really academically rigorous high school but I feel like after covid the rigor has really gone down. Like, the teachers barely give any homework nowadays and kids are always sharing answers. In my BC class, the homework isn't even required because the teachers know that only kids who actually want to do the homework will do the homework legitimately. Additionally, there's so much cheating on tests in school nowadays. Kids be getting pictures of the test before the test after lunch the same day.
Bro is speaking facts ngl as a freshmen soon to be sophomore kids are either gathering in the campus for a fight or thriving their teachers to quit and alot more
i get extra support cause of my asperger’s but even then i notice everyone gets treated so much better in school, socially i think it’s more difficult frienfs wise but with the actual school work and the way we are treated it’s so much easier
I'm a high school senior finishing my last semester homeschooling. I don't regret leaving public school (though the pandemic didn't really give me a choice during my sophomore year). Online school was definitely difficult for everyone as our eyes and minds became centered around screens and wifi connections 😂. Transitioning out of online and back into public my junior year was honestly worse than voom yoga. I was anxious about everything, whether I got covid, failed my classes, or got stabbed. Didn't help that I switched schools when I moved, so I didn't even have friends. I was given a choice between taking an exit exam or homeschooling. I remember originally thinking homeschooling would be terrible, but having experience basically homeschooling for a full school year, I knew I could manage. I joined a program called ilead and since then continued to better my education. I'm grateful I was able to experience high school as it should have been. In my freshmen year, I was able to get a job, balance all my 6 periods, and gain important social skills. It pains me to see how so many children's lives have been taken by gun violence, drugs, and hate in general; its unnecessary and I just hope that parents and public officials take more serious action in the prevention of these horrible tragedies. I know this comment has become an essay by now, but for my fellow students, I just want to remind you guys that no matter what direction you take in life, don't forgot that you dont have to figure it out all on your own, that there is always help even when it doesn't present itself.
As a senior I totally agree with the dude in yellow shirt. Schools now do not give homework and hard work and just try to make everyone graduate so the school looks good and have high graduation rates.
I do agree that this generation ultimately has it easier than the previous ones. For instance, severe punishments before (i.e. literal abuse or violence) was seen as a normal thing to condition someone into behaving. The removal of this old "fear" factor or punishment today makes it easier for students and their parents to speak out (complain basically) and ask for so much leniency. Also, there is the added pressure (for institutions) of being called out, whether through protests or on social media, which gives higher chances for concerns to be addressed as the students see fit. Not disregarding the fact that HS today is still hard, but comparing the overall factors that defines "difficult" between generations, older ones had it harder for sure.
I graduated hs last year, the teachers gave homework but they did not really prepare me for college at all. When I came to college I now have to do extra classes and summer course to catch up to the program I am in
Idk about other school but I’d say school is (as a senior) harder. Not in like how you’re physically treated (ie bullying, racism, etc) but in terms of rigor and pressure. My school has become wayy more competitive in these past few years - and the general sense of pressure has been rising thruout social media. Also, I disagree that classrooms are more disorderly(maybe than the 50s), but basically no one speaks over the teacher unless allowed. Bad grades are still dished out, not infrequently. Homework is still heavy(mutiple hours a night)- and required for every class to assign.
Literally bro I’m a freshman in high school and all people care about is how much clout they have and shi and think about it back then making 911 jokes we’re not good and go to hell bounding but now people make jokes about it and now people find it amusing so I HAVE NO HOPE
As a highschool student dude in the yellow is cappin his ass off, or at least just speaking for him and his school, I wish my school was how these people say it is
I’m a senior now. The school districts in my county provides real life education for juniors and seniors. So you can choose a field, if that he business, technology, healthcare, or trades. You are able to apply and you are selected out of many students to attend this. For one half of your day you’re at school and the other half I’ve got to meet business owners and learn so much about the business and tech world. The schools don’t provide this normally. You have to apply and chose to do it yourself. You get to learn the real life skills like how to dress, how to write resumes, we even get to have an unpaid internship and then a paid one in the summer. It’s an opportunity to learn and I can tell you all of I learned doing that was way more than I’ve learned at school. I learned how credit cards works, how stocks worked, how to manage money. I am already working on my real estate license. It’s insane that this is what the normal school should provide.
As a freshman in college I can remember that my senior year of high school was VERY lenient as well as having a shit ton of resources for any sort of help
This is my personal high-school experience so far at my school so some may or may not relate. My high-school is a IB school and our classes are semi difficult, not too hard just a lot of homework, so people will fall behind because teachers assign two things everyday. The only class I failed (with an F) is math because the teacher wouldn't help or go over things. They also won't let me do alt-ed for math even though I've been failing it since 6th grade so I felt really stupid. Im really good at english and global usually, but I'm currently falling behind in english. I think since I'm a freshman it could be the change from middle school where they would never assign anything to assigning something everyday so its hard to catch up from not being used to it. I also struggle with depression and anxiety so it makes work harder for me because I'm always tired and don't really have that much motivation even though I know I need to get things done, which just makes me feel dumb. I also have really bad social anxiety and have panic attacks and hyperventilate while talking with other people like students and teachers, so I have a 504 plan that says I don't have to speak in class, present in class, and teachers have to check in with me which all have done so far except 1. It kinda sucks that i got my 504 plan after I failed algebra because it may have made a difference. I also took all graduate classes this year (to see how difficult everything was) except for conceptual physics because you can only take CP for that, so im happy I passed my final (a test) because if I hadn't I would've stayed back in his class as well, which I struggle with because of tne math (I literally can't even do basic math things). Ryder was right about how teachers don't care about what you say either, there is a sophomore boy who supports Hitler and does the salute and has a nazi flag background on our school iPad, but the teachers don't care. Sorry about how long this was I just wanted to say my personal experience.
I def think that schools vary on how “hard” they are when it comes to the actual education part. As an American junior, I was shocked to hear that Ryder isn’t getting homework 😭 My school environment is extremely competitive.
8:18 This is very true, before I got home-schooled, I was failing 2-3 classes a semester, for many reasons, I was having panic attacks because of anxiety (Leading me to have to leave class and miss out), and another was ADHD (I would actually just sit and NOT take in ANYTHING the teachers were teaching, even when I was trying). But when it came to homework, I never got any homework, even in Grade/Elementary School.
As someone in high school I would have to agree that the workload has significantly decreased because of a decline in work ethic but then there’s also certain classes that are the complete opposite and they REALLY push you. Examples of these classes would be ap or ib where they know that you choose to be there.
As a 19 year old, I have seen that teachers such as in hs aren’t giving enough homework or even educating students, and young teenagers want to be consider as adults NO, and I agree with the yellow shirt guy because of all the crazy stuffs going on in the real world is absolutely bs, and if I can travel back in time I would absolutely live up my childhood and I also miss it because u didn’t necessarily had to worry about anything at all now is social media brainwashing about weird news, choosing sides,So word on that
Im a highschooler and I would say it depends. I do agree that most kids my age are undiciplened and we takle many things for granted but at the same time I think there is more pressure to do well in school since going to good colledge is put above all else nowadays.
I’m 16 a junior in high school, I agree that high school is way easier now. At this point, you can just take a picture of your assignment and have ai do it for you. Bullying isn’t severe anymore, most people are too scared to say what they think to your face, instead they say something on the internet.
*dude I'm 12 and I 100% agree with yellow shirt like bro the future ain't gonna be good I know that and that's sad. I'm not letting my future kids have a phone til 6th grade so they can text me but I'll put parental controls and I'm 100% not letting them use Twitter or TikTok or Instagram only the ones I use currently so TH-cam and snap. Keep in mind I'm a child so these opinions i have are prolly gonna change cuz it probably sounds stupid.* Edit a year later: I'm 14 now lol and if that's confusing it's because i have a late birthday so in 2023 I was 12 til October then this year I was 13 til October and now im 14
I 100% agree with everything but especially the last part. I’m in middle school and every single person uses buzz phrases such as period, and I oop. And I’ve begun to start using buzz phrases like “that’s crazy”, “goof”, etc. I also agree with the fact that everything has gotten easier. My teachers let us do one assignment to excuse/get rid of our other assignments that we did bad on. There’s not really ANY in-person bullying but there are fights. This generation is mostly set up to succeed though. The fact that some students aren’t succeeding in school is unbelievable to me.
senior year was expected to be my hardest and it was by far the easiest but maybe that is because i worked hard early to have multiple off periods. but i still experienced in my senior classes teachers just not giving homework because either older students working and or because like ryder said, they know we wouldn’t do it.
3:13 that was so well articulated, I’d be surprised if the rest of the kids didn’t have a whole perspective change, i find that demur from the rest interesting, considering the question and each position posed by them.
I think the culture surrounding high school and people in their teen years is vastly different within America than elsewhere in the world, I.e. Asia, Europe and Oceania... Currently, I'm in my second year of the IBDP and not so surprisingly, the load of work I get seems to be a lot more than what high schoolers in the US are getting. Alongside that, we still have all the rules in regard to uniforms, usage of technology and getting work done. Being disrespectful towards teachers is almost seen as a sin, especially within Asia as a whole. Although (and I'm coming from my own perspective based on this video), the Asian school system does sound more linear, and well-established in the sense of what an education should be, these principles are the cause of some drawbacks. In the country, I currently live and study in, it is a norm to be burnt out and stressed beyond relief before your senior or junior years, to the point where most people desire to leave the country at the moment of graduation. Also, suicide as young as the ages of 13 and 14 have been seen, with the main cause of them being due to school-related stress and expectations of getting top grades. I believe people in America are facing issues only they can relate to. Gun violence within the school system is an issue unique to the United States, even your neighbouring country, Canada, has had 11 gun violence-related deaths within a school... in history.
4:12 at highschool it gets way easier than it would be in the past, but as for their personal life it could be really harder considering that some households or environments are crazy toxic or harmful, more kids now and days don't even have home's
As a sophomore in high school I can strongly agree that the teachers are lazy as hell these days and just don’t feel like doing anything which reflects on the students.
Fr we get no hw in highschool but gang violence is growing at my school recently and u gotta watch out and look at what ur wearing so u won't get pressed cus there are rival gangs that wear certain colors or hats
yellow shirt got it bang on. I just started my senior year, i am homeschooled. Homeschooling is hard, but has its perks.i get to sleep in, make my own schedule, and do whatever i want during the day. I also only have four classes this year for senior because I have my tokens for graduating. BUT! for my sophomore year i started at a public school in TN, and it was the worst. the teachers focused more on gender studies and trying not to hurt these babies' feelings than actual lecture. and the homework was so easy i never had any cause i could do it during class. i had straight As and i never had to lift a finger. fats forward, i got pulled out cause it was such an ass and easy school. I went back to my normal WTMA homeschool program online, i fought hard for a whole year only to get three As and two Bs. kids now are too soft and worried about you misgendering them.
Ryder is preaching I just graduated and I swear it’s not even just the younger classes I had 18 year olds acting like toddlers and being disrespectful as fuck. Even in my AP and college level classes the kids just don’t give a shit and walk all over the teachers. It’s actually sad how devolved public education has become and honestly the difference between my freshman year and this year was night and day in terms of the respect shown to elders and the rigor of classes. Something has got to change and as horrendous as the system is the culture is the real issue. Strawberry Park gotta teach these kids the way!!
one time this kid a year younger came into our class party and his teacher for that period ran inside the room, smacked a slice of pizza out of his hand and brought him back by the wrist cause he told her he was going to the bathroom. She had a whole investigation pulled on her and they were gonna fire her and all.
As an Italian student our school system is one of the most strict in the world, but at the same time I’m thankful for that as it really shaped me as a person. I think students that go to Italian school come out way more disciplined than American students
I’ve noticed that older generations of high schoolers were typically educated in general studies, but weren’t technologically advanced. However, the newer generation of high schoolers are more technologically advanced, but lack common knowledge. I just think that the world is evolving towards being technologically enhanced.

As a senior in high school the dude in the yellow shirt was speaking nothing but the truth, the teachers don’t give homework. Or anything to challenge the students and the work they do give us is so easy and the lessons are so short we spend the rest of our class on our phones. The students are always fighting each other and the teachers it’s actually insane.
wouldnt that go against his argument of things being better?
its been 3 years since i did math, my Algebra 2 teacher gave up after like 2 months when 2-3 kids would show up and i was the only oen paying attention. we started watching movies instead :) . he never gave us a test either.
I wish they didn’t. I sometimes spend like 2-3 hours a day on homework. Idk what classes your taking. It got hella stressful last semester and I’m only a junior..

I’m 17 and a junior in high school and I can say with confidence that this generation has if easier than then other generations. You’re not punished the same, you can access what you need to learn way easier, bullying is less severe, you really have everything you need to succeed. My school literally took away a required class because too many people were failing. It’s tailored to include everyone.
i am 17 and a senior and i agree with this 100% its just in today day in age ppl are soft and expect more than they put in
16 and a junior and wholeheartedly agree with this
Also quite literally we have google. My parents had to ACTUALLY study and go to the library through textbooks and stuff to study for their paper exams. Back during my covid senior year we'd just copy the first question into google and find a quizlet.
I’m 17 and a senior in high school and I agree with everything you said except that bullying is less severe nowadays🫤
How can you say that if your only 17 shut your spoon fed gen z head asd
@@itzcoolcream School is so easy that it literally takes no effort to get a 4.0, so it is impossible to fail unless you just arent doing jackshit.
I'm 21 and I will much prefer to be called a Young adult until my mid to late twenties
True that 17yo will realise he wasn’t an adult at all when he grows up
People actually wanna be viewed as adults? I wanna be as childish and happy as long as I can 😂. Obviously serious when you need to but i don’t get these kids trying to act like adults and wasting their childhood
And 25+ year olds realize who immature 20 year olds were. 😂😂
i think adulthood comes down to wisdom. cause in the end, you can be mature/responsible and a kid, or immature/irresposible as an adult. i don't really think that that's what defines our aging transition. it's more on life experience
The one who calls himself a kid was the most mature one there lol
Exactly. I guess the true young adults have the humility to NOT refer to themselves as such. I’m 20 and halfway through college, and I barely consider myself an adult.

“also damn near everybody does drugs”. Your right on that one
its not hard socially but its hard for the people who arent bots on their phones all day it really jus depends
Not all tho I’m chill and I missed my last year of middle school although I’m already going to college soon

Like they said, he’s on a different wave these kids were too late to get on, good for him.
Like 85% of them probably just closed the door to their room and said they did something because I doubt their holding an elementary student down at a computer for that long
But the teachers aren't free either because the middle school teachers say they have kids that don't know how to do basic multiplication and division which is sad because they say no one made sure they knew it and just kept letting them go forward and now they reached a point where their failing in record numbers because they don't know what they're doing
Great points

Fax man. We have it hard here in the UK :/
Ireland it's even harder. Particularly when it comes to grading and points required for uni courses.
our future generations gon be dumb asf and AI is gonna take over
Ryder is probably the most normal and stable kid out of all them in that vid.

Dude in the yellow shirt is the realest highschooler there fr
As a teen, I got social media at a very young age, one of my friends doesn’t have TikTok or Snap or anything and whenever the topic comes up in a conversation I always tell him to never get it. It’s better to be shelter than be exposed to all the stuff on media.
I'm in secondary school in the UK and due to the technology and recourses available the school actually sets up more homework since they know there is more information available

every once in a while you get a kid like Ryder and it’s really refreshing cause he’s what people act like they are but he’s really it
Ryder is amazing.
Ryder was the epitome of a W this video, my guy hit all the right spots
as a highschooler myself, i would say school was harder back then than now, bc now there is really no punishment for acting up, we can get way with thing too easly

In my opinion, our generation needs to be humbled! and quickly
Yep
8:50 i think the hardest part rn is just having an incentive to wanna go, even when you give the standard answer it isn’t enough 💀
kids have always skipped school over life circumstances in the past but now days its simply to stay and play games at home wth

Bro shout to Ryder, he’s definitely keeping it 💯
As a freshman in college I can remember that my senior year of high school was VERY lenient as well as having a shit ton of resources for any sort of help

I would love to be friends with rider. He spoke so much facts
As someone in high school I would have to agree that the workload has significantly decreased because of a decline in work ethic but then there’s also certain classes that are the complete opposite and they REALLY push you. Examples of these classes would be ap or ib where they know that you choose to be there.

As a 19 year old, I have seen that teachers such as in hs aren’t giving enough homework or even educating students, and young teenagers want to be consider as adults NO, and I agree with the yellow shirt guy because of all the crazy stuffs going on in the real world is absolutely bs, and if I can travel back in time I would absolutely live up my childhood and I also miss it because u didn’t necessarily had to worry about anything at all now is social media brainwashing about weird news, choosing sides,So word on that
Yellow shirt kid is speaking straight facts. My teachers don't teach anything and never give us homework
Ryder laughed when the girl brought up Andrew Tate, I know for a fact that Ryder likes Andrew Tate and he is influencing teens in the right way
Im a highschooler and I would say it depends.
Keep in mind I'm a child so these opinions i have are prolly gonna change cuz it probably sounds stupid.*
Edit a year later: I'm 14 now lol and if that's confusing it's because i have a late birthday so in 2023 I was 12 til October then this year I was 13 til October and now im 14
Fr we get no hw in highschool but gang violence is growing at my school recently and u gotta watch out and look at what ur wearing so u won't get pressed cus there are rival gangs that wear certain colors or hats
y'all videos never miss
yellow shirt got it bang on.
1:56 Rob really is the type of guy to say that thinking about a question and changing your mind after is child like lol.
This might just be me but, it brought a smile to my face to see Gizmo on Ryder's shirt.😅
i love how they went back to the old bullying psa video hand meme only real ones remember that
one time this kid a year younger came into our class party and his teacher for that period ran inside the room, smacked a slice of pizza out of his hand and brought him back by the wrist cause he told her he was going to the bathroom. She had a whole investigation pulled on her and they were gonna fire her and all.
He’s right but at my school the teachers grade very slow so if you’re failing you’re failing for a while that’s the annoying part
I turned 18 two days ago all these kids wildin fr
As an Italian student our school system is one of the most strict in the world, but at the same time I’m thankful for that as it really shaped me as a person. I think students that go to Italian school come out way more disciplined than American students
I’ve noticed that older generations of high schoolers were typically educated in general studies, but weren’t technologically advanced. However, the newer generation of high schoolers are more technologically advanced, but lack common knowledge. I just think that the world is evolving towards being technologically enhanced.
bruh yellow shirt is probably the most mature in the room, FACTS. It seems like he is the only one that understands what stage of life he is in.
I wanna see where ryder ends up in a few years compared to the other kids
