2008-2010 wasn’t the greatest year for power strokes but I will give credit where credit is due. The ford interiors compared to chevy and ram of those years are way above par. The lariat, king ranch, and Harley Davidson edition have super nice interiors.
Even the xlts interior wasn’t bad
same with 2004-2007 shitt year too

Except for the 2009-2010 6.4 truck is least problematic.
I had my 6.4 for almost 6 years. It was deleted and tuned, and I beat the crap out of it all day, everyday. In the time I owned it, a lower radiator hose was the only repair I had to make to it. I blew the transmission up and then traded it in on a 2019 250 platinum

Dude the 6.4 is tough as hell! IF PROPERLY MAINTAINED. Be aware, IF YOU KEEP IT and your degas bottle starts spewing DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY think it’s blown HG’s. Very rare to blow them, it’s likely your turbo needs rebuilding. I know this because I fucking chased the spewing degas bottle prob and was told by EVERY DEISEL MECHANIC “oh bro you tuned it and this is a POS engine bro, look online bro, bro pay my 10 g to fix it”. Not kidding. One kid in Utah I called who wrenches on diesels for a living knew right away “it’s your turbo, pressure is escaping and that’s why it’s blowing coolant, trust me”. The guy was correct.

I have an 08 6.4 that had 20k on it when I bought it in 2011. I have 281k on it. It is fully deleted, and all I have replaced on it is radiator hoses( up graded), alternator, starter, fuel pump. It still runs strong, and I have had a minor oil leak that long since been fixed. Sounds like normal ware to me on all high mileage trucks. Maybe it is the owners.

Unfortunately the defects are other the 6.4 powerstroke go way deeper than just the egr and dpf issues with excess fuel in the #7 and #8 cylinders. The stock pistons crack under normal use, the water pump cavitation of the front covers and puts coolant in the crankcase, the blocks can crack near the lifter valleys when high torque head studs are used. That’s just to name a few, these truck were made for engine swaps.

@@true5.012 I’ve seen a bunch of them deleted and still crap the bed. The 6.4 is just not a good engine for longevity, just so complicated that there are alot of failure points.
@@stucbr1100 heard a bunch of people say if they are deleted at low mileage and tuned for the delete the motors last them 400k easy
@@stucbr1100 besides deleting it putting pistons in it and some pushrods what else do you need to do it because to my knowledge that’s almost if not all the issues and maybe head bolts if it’s gonna be pushing more than 600whp

My dad has a 2010 f30 with the 6.4. Has some goodies 😆. It’s a crew cab dually making 500hp and he does burnouts in it with is awesome. Just the fact that a dually does burnouts.
The 6.4 is the most power capable powerstroke, just suffers from weak pistons.

So many people give 6.4 Powerstroke a bad rap one thing is you can do mods to 6.4 EGR delete is a must and cammed delete & headers and whipped and 6.7 powerstroke starter kit and 6.7 powerstroke turbo and have Hemi V8 Hellcat Demon killer

I used to daily a red 5 speed 450whp straightpiped 12v cummins regular cab dually. It's now my project. Stock block and what not. It's only got 270k miles. Barely broken in no blowby.

If dude woulda let boost build even the slightest he couldve actually smoked the tires. I had a 6.4 fully deleted with a 5” turbo back exhaust and tune and runnin on the stock turbo I’ve had that truck runnin 140mph runnin and it was barely pushin 30lbs boost. them trucks can be tanks you know what your doin. I’ve done sled pulls, shootouts with it gone muddin with it and the only problem I had with that truck is rust that I got fixed.
