At one point, shootings in Venezuela dropped because the cost of ammo was so high it was no longer economical to shoot people to rob them. They couldn't recoup the cost.
Unless they were swinging a gun like a baseball bat, nobody would take them seriously.

Russians doing 40K's Imperial Guard human wave tactics without a hint of irony.
The most insane of all of it is there is a imperial guard faction that lives on a ice planet and is based on the Russian army 😮
And even more insane is the current Russian tactic is pretty much a mirror image of that Faction 😮
The AFU lost 1000 men KIA in a small village called Krynki. They can't recover 95% of the b0d1es so they list them as MIA and the men's families are looking for them on Facebook because the military has them listed as missing while in reality their remains rot on the east side of the Dnieper. Btw Ukraine doesn't even have Krynki. It was a pointless exercise in wasting lives. This is just a small example to demonstrate to you that your propaganda bubble isn't telling you anything about the scale of AFU losses. But go on talking about fictional human waves.

Just thought I'd randomly put this here -
List of Air Defense Systems and Related Equipment Supplied to Ukraine -
Long-Range Air Defense Systems
Patriot: 4-5 batteries (United States, Germany, Netherlands, Romania)
SAMP-T: 1-2 systems (Italy)
S-300: 1 battery (Slovakia)
Medium-Range Air Defense Systems
NASAMS: 8-12 systems (United States, Norway, Canada)

Gepard: 30-40 units (Germany)
RBS 70: Dozens (Sweden)
Avenger: 8 systems (United States)

DroneDefender: Limited quantities (United States)
Dedrone: Limited quantities (Germany)
AUDS (Anti-UAV Defense System): Limited quantities (United Kingdom, United States)
Additional Systems and Support
Ammunition and spare parts: Ongoing supply, quantities not publicly disclosed
Surveillance Radars: Dozens from multiple nations
Training and maintenance support: Provided by supplying countries
Upgrades and modifications: Ongoing efforts to improve system performance
Integration of systems: Challenges in creating a unified air defense network
Command and Control Systems: Provided by various Western countries to enhance coordination and effectiveness
Important Considerations:
Phased-out systems: Some systems listed might be phased out or have limited operational capabilities due to age or lack of spare parts.
Vehicle-mounted systems: While primarily designed for ground targets, many can engage low-flying aircraft.
MANPADS: Primarily designed for infantry use but can be integrated into vehicle-based platforms.
Counter-drone systems: Rapidly evolving technology with a diverse range of solutions.
Thanks for the information. I enjoyed the read and knowledge you provided.
I also got a question now. Are airburst air defence systems (with normal bullets or shrapnel rounds) more an 'anti-drone' system, or do they still fall under ballistic AA Defence System?
As in, I know ballistic AA is probably fazed out, but I also think that they can serve as great anti drone defence.
For what it’s worth, I seem to remember hearing that at least 300 Slinger systems were going to Ukraine as of summer 2024.
And Ukraine needs 60 Patriots total to cover the entire country with sufficient readiness spares.

Regarding the status of Russia's reserve vehicles, if anyone is interested in a more in depth overview of rate of depletion for various vehicle types, the channel Perun recently did an hour long breakdown of just that, entitled "Russian Equipment Losses & Reserves (2024) - the Changing Russian Force in Ukraine" If you want even more detail, he cites a number of the freelance analysts who actually do the satellite photo interpretation to produce this intel, and has a variety of sources documented in the description of said video.
It's a bit dry and intensely detailed - Perun is very much a logistics-focused analyst - but at the level of his video, it's actually kinda interesting. Personally I'm not the right kind of person to go digging beyond that level of summary, though.
Duran>Perun
He also references Covert Cabal’s channel which buys satellite images of Russian bases to count vehicles, which is fascinating.
Ah the famous satellite image fan.
,,Look at this its not here therefore its gone forever"
Yeah not like this stuff cant be moved around to fool people. The satellite images do not mean anything in reality.
I am from Russia myself and have a vantage point (purely my own observations). Massive losses estimates are not unreasonable. The demobilization order never came thorough, men are being chased by military commissars, the pay package for signing a contract with the military has been rising exponentially with the average salary of an infantry men far exceeding a salary of a financial director or an experienced IT professional etc. if you triangulate, you can definitely tell the cadence of losses outpaced the recruitment
Jeezus that’s not sustainable long term
Another thing which is difficult to trace is the forced conversion of conscripts to contractors. Officially, conscripts cannot be legally sent to war. But once conscripted, the command puts pressure and bullies conscripts into switching to contract. I know someone who was a conscript in Rosgvardia. We talked him out of switching to contract back in August 2022, just a few weeks before mobilization. He was not even aware of the fate of the Rosgvardia ill fated echelons that got torched on the way to Kharkiv

Everyone talks about the Is and Gz conflict from the human perspective and not from the game of strategy perspective. The attack on Is was a provokation intended to be so bad it can't be ignored. It was a chess move designed to either make them act and look terrible, or not act and look weak. With profit on both sides for the instigator. A "win win" for the instigator. However, the Is knew this, and knew the option they were expected not to take: Punch back so hard that the social gains of making them look like monsters arnt worth the losses. By huntiny the leadership without mercy and ripping through human shields to do it, they have effectivly ensured the same won't be required in the future and no one will try this particular move again. In the long term, it is possible being this brutality will actually lead to less brutality, because who wants to volunteer to hunt someone as ruthless as yourself.
It sucks for everyone because that scale of decisions reduces humanity, the truly valuable thing about all of this, to numbers, but that's part of the trap they are in.
This assumes you dont create generations of resentment and twenty more fighters for every one you eliminate. Ask the U.S. and the Soviets how that worked out for them in the middle east. Now remember that Is can't just pack up its crap and go home when they get tired of the mess, because the mess is literally right next door.
It also runs the risk of turning Is into a pariah state (to say nothing of the fact that if you look at the actual number of hostage rescues, the overwhelming majority have been released as the result of diplomatic negotiations, not military actions). This is going to bite them, and the fact that its being carried out by a guy staring down the barrel of corruption charges the moment he loses power isn't helping that international image....
Israel's real war goal is population reduction.
Honestly, it seems more like they're making more and ore everyday people who had no idea what the Palestinians were going through, really look at Israel. Egypt crying about a "lack of action by the international community" is rich. Why not just open up your border with Gaza and let them in Egypt?
Why? So that they are never allowed to return and Israel can finish off its ethnic cleansing?
it's not about helping palestinians. it's about hurting Israel,
Why would Egypt want to do that? Gazans have already proven they are willing supporters of terrorism. As such, Egypt not wanting them makes sense - why import trouble? They've got quite enough already...

@@angeloluna529 the Ukrainian government knows the figures, they just won't release them. They are considered sensitive state secrets because the numbers are astronomical and would scare people considering volunteering in the AFU
Imagine getting kicked in the balls, then kicking your aggressors butt, and him calling the police on you..... lol I see some parallels here 😂
Hamas needs to unconditionally surrender.
Technical term approved!
It's still crazy that israel gets attacked first and then gets demonized for defending itself
I think its more due to the proportionality of the attack. Hamas attacked with one big offensive before being pushed out while Isreal has been bombing the hell outta Gaza for over a year now. Including killing non affiliated charity organization workers trying to feed civillians.
The everlasting arab/muslim victim
Yes Israel was retaliating for the attack by Hamas, the response has since gone way beyond a tit for tat attack. Neither side is right in that war
@@dr.coomerphd4937 The US responded to 9/11 by killing a million people.
This was our 9/11.
Our response is not an overreaction.
...Man, it's crazy how politically unstable so many countries have been these past few years...
A vote for Trump is a vote for Putin
sure.
Fortunately, the president doesn't have complete control over who we send aid to. He can't just stop the government from sending weapons.
He probably won't win anyway.
Every day all I learn from adults is that might is right, being weak makes you a victim. I will never accept weakness. Strength is all that matters
Woah, Simon! You quoted my Foreign Policy Article about the apathy. Let me just casually remind You that I sent You an email a while ago, offering to write for You as well, to which You did not respond. But the offer still stands.
Interesting!

Witnessing the demographic collapse of Russia in real time
Yeah, its going to be rough over there, losing that many fighting age men is a disaster. Especially for a nation where the young cohorts are so much smaller than the old one and where the regime relies on pensioners for its political stability.
Well I see that the Russian’s tactics haven’t changed much sine WWII. It reminds me of a story I heard where an American general asked Zhukov how they got around the German minefields and he said that, “we don’t waste time going around, we go right through them. Some men always make it”. I’m paraphrasing, but loss of life seems to be taken lightly in their thinking.
@Warographics
Why don’t you mention the Chinese PLA troops caught helping Hamas build its tunnels?
It’s going to be many years before Russia can rebuild their heavy equipment losses, if they can even afford to.
Imagine expending the entire strategic reserve, such as it is, on one regional conflict.
Everytime i see articles that Russia can't keep these losses up i laugh and think of the millions they lost in WW2 and know they'll be willing to lose millions in this war
Odd then that Putin is so hesitant to mobilize the population to a greater degree.
@@shaun7142 yeah, you save those troops for the NATO intervention, they're winning the war right now no need to push it
So according to you, Russia is limiting the forces it mobilizes because NATO is going to invade, and instead of a rapid mobilization which could end the war quickly, and leave them with vastly more manpower and equipment ready for that invasion, instead they are going to slowly fight against Ukraine, and give the west time to build up their industry to take them on. And only after NATO invades will they begin mobilizing their forces.
In other words, you're saying the Russians are incompetent.
The russian federation is not the soviet union. The soviet army was made up of ukranians, belorussians, balts and many other nationalities who simply are not part of the russian federation of today. They simply cannot afford to take those same amounts of casualties because russias pooulation is smaller than the USSR of 1941 and the population pyramid is drastically different because the largest adult cohort currently is 35-40 with no replacement on the horizon instead of the soviet unions 25-29 with there being enough teenagers to replace them.
I guess in WW2, the people were defending their country, but in Ukraine...
Thankyou Simon.
8 2000 pounds to get one person.... and 90 civilians dead.
And tbh I wouldn’t put it past the IDF to lie about having achieved one of their goals to distract from the fact their BOMBING FUCKING HUMANITARIAN ZONES

When the Palestinians get to vote next time hopefully they won’t vote in Hamas if they do then they will…………….

Awwwww poor Deif. That's a real shame.
Many of us who have contact or history with radical islam and the so called Palestinian cause are ok with the IDF levelling Gaza completely.
Meanwhile war criminal netanyahu downplaying the casualties in the war with words like "practically no civilian deaths" while addressing US congress, what a disgrace.

Or maybe it's because there are almost 200 countries on this planet and it isn't always about the US.
Nothing in the US is really all that troubling.
Nice try though.
