Used the approach (that I first heard from your Twitter btw) recently in combination with fem. and lat cutaneous nerve blocks for analgesia after thigh amputation - worked beautifully, patient was completely painfree postop :) One thing has been bothering me for a while now. Why is it that with the more proximal sciatic nerve approaches one doesn't have to penetrate the paraneural sheath for an effective block? Unlike the popliteal block, that is.

Great video! Have you used this for fracture dislocation needing reduction ? If yes what volume of LA did you use ?
