I appreciated your video! I have a OneFinity set up, a 110v 2.2KW HY VFD, paired with a HY 110v 2.2KW spindle. I tried setting params using information I got out of the manual and off of the Internet. My spindle ran for about five-seconds and never up to speed. I found this video and your cheat sheet and set the params according to your instructions. It was the first time I had the spindle ramp up to 24000! However, it does that when I hit, "Run" and I can't control the RPMs with the Pot OR with my controller when I set the params for the OneFinity. This shouldn't be this hard! I'm still looking for the recipe for my particular setup but haven't had any luck. Anyway, I got further than I ever had with your info.
Thank you brother for great video i follow the steps 5 time and i rest my vfd every time but my problem when i click the spindle button the spindle is work but i cant change the speed and the spindle not power off when i press the button again I have the same controller in the video And the same vfd and spindle but 220 v Water cooled Can you help me
I purchased the UltimateBee this spring 1500x1500 2.2K 220v air spindle xPRO controller. I had so many issues with the controller and getting the motors to move right I scrapped it and got a NightHawk controller. All the motors are working perfectly now, but I can not control the VFD. I have gone over all the settings and matched them up to what seemed to be the best choice and moved the jumper. Still, the spindle will not turn. I am hoping someone out there will be able to help me.
Thanks for your tutorials, I’ve learned a lot from the videos. I was able to do a bench test successfully like you did, I however could not vary the spindle speed from Mach 3. What could be the cause?
Completely clear out all of the settings on the spindle inverter and start from scratch. Completely zero out your spindle settings in Mach3 as well and hit “save” on the drop down menu. You should be able to get it to work after the second or third time. It’s a lot of coding and settings so it’s really easy to skip something or enter something wrong. It took me three times to get it all correct and everything working properly. Sometimes even if you do everything right it helps to just do it over again to work out the bugs...
@@702marine I am having the same issues after following your set up instruction. the spindle will start but will not adjust in speed. I am not clear on what to do when you say to " completely zero out spindle setting in Mach3" could you be so kind to elaborate. thank you !
Some questions: why pd025=1 and pd027=0.8? In my case, it leads to extremely high dangerous acceleration at the risk of destroying the spindle. A note also for the amperage of your spindle, in your case it is 2.2 amp, not 8 amp.
Great stuff. It's truly appreciated. I have a question for you. I noticed you said you have switches set to be homing switches versus limit switches. When I home my machine all the axes do indeed home and then back off from the switches. Why when running a g-code and the switch is hit on the Z axis it's doesn't turn off? I quickly have to hit ESC to stop it. Do none of the axes stop if the switches are hit? I also have no idea why the Z axis goes up that high during this g-code. It's only set to go a quarter inch over the material, but it goes up an inch and hits that switch.
Sorry for the late reply. I'm still learning the tools on the TH-cam platform. You can set the homing switches to act as limit switches when it is running a program. You just have to set them up in ports and pins. Set the limit switch pin numbers the same as the homing switches. Mach3 will use them as limits during operation and back to homing when you "Ref all Home".

Hey brother great review, question. I am not planning to use mach 3 at first. When I input the settings on cheat sheet everything works like yours, however I can't control the rpm with the knob like I want. What is your recommended solution
you never talked about wiring the actual motor to the vfd, are you running 110 or 220, if 110 what 2 terminals are you using from the R S T? Also you you know the pinouts for the spindle from the U V W thanks

Hey thanks for your helpful video! So I’m setting up my 2.2kw spindle 110v from bulkman and for some reason my spindle is apparently maxing out at about 14,000 rpm on Mach3. Like I can take the number higher on the computer but the spindle doesn’t go any faster.... it’s supposed to be rated for 24,000rpm. Is there a setting somewhere that’s limiting it that I need to set to the max rpm or is mach3 just reading the rpm wrong? When I turn control of the spindle back to the CFD panel (pd 001 and 002 set 0) the spindle at 400hz (24,000rpm) seems to be the same max speed as what the computer is taking it to though even though Mach3 says that rpm is only 14,000rpm.... I’m very confused.... Any suggestions?
The absolute best thing to do is zero everything out completely and start all over again. It is 100 times more difficult to chase down a problem than to just reprogram it. However, Mach3 and your spindle will not always read the most accurate numbers you are expecting. It will be close but possibly a 1000 or so off. There is another part (the exact name of it I can’t recall right now) that would read the speed of the actual spindle very accurately and send that number to Mach3. With this kit it isn’t part of the package. It’s going to drive me nuts now till I can remember what it’s called. Either way if you clear out all of your settings and start again you should get it on track and running very efficiently.
@@702marine awesome! Thank you for that advise. I actually figured it out somehow fiddling around but ended up messing something up again after... I don't have the whole kit you have but I do have the very same spindle and vfd. So I used this to program but my question is how can I make it run with the dile as the rpm change? It actually just runs up real fast so I hit stop. Can't control it
PD072 is according to the manual the Lower Analog Frequency, this should be 133.33 PD073 is according tot he manual the Higher Analog Frequency, this should be 400 Correct? Because in the video (and your PDF) these settings are reversed, you say PD072 for Higher and PD073 for Lower? EDIT: I think the values are correct as in the video and in the PDF, only the names are not?
The way I have it is the correct way. You must set the higher then go back and set the lower after. 73 to 400 first then go back to 72 and set it to 133.33.

If you are using a GRBL control unit you can. But if you are using a Mach3 controller you have to use Mach3 software to do the cuts.
