Totally ignoring the 2 holes for the puller to bolt onto? You install the puller, tighten it up and hit the center bolt with a ball peen hammer. They pop right off.
That works as well. But not every small engine has this feature. I do have a puller but am showing and telling folks this way of doing it without a puller. This trick works most of the time.
Also I'd be very cautious putting anything in the holes that I have bolts in. Those are for the mount for the crank start. You break or waller out those holes and you will have more issues.
