That would make it more expensive. This is supposed to be a bare bones, inexpensive sports car with all of the potential. And that's exactly what it is. You buy it for cheap and build it into whatever monster your imagination can think up. If you would rather buy it already built, then Toyota did not make this car for you.
@@rubenkruger7949 I agree,…however plenty entry level mid sized sedans can outrun or easily match its pace. At this point mid to low 13 secs for a barebones sports car should be the baseline
HKS is running 450hp on they'r test car, upgraded injectors, stock block and trans, I think they upgraded the clutch. This is on a car that gets beat on at trackdays. I could see forged internals making 600+ maybe even more, HKS is also developing a sequential gearbox for the 86 so that might be a good option if the stock trans blows up and you don't want the H pattern
stock motor number is the only thing that people car about. Built motor fa20s weather thats the na fa20 or the DIT have been making 600+ for almost a decade now
This is amazing! I can't wait to see more from you guys. And thank you! So hard to find these videos on TH-cam, this is the first and only forced induction video that I've seen with a live zd8. And you're in Aus, very exciting for me personally - can't wait to charge mine up 🎉
As always! Many of the American kits are apparently a "straight bolt on" from the 2L, ours certainly isn't including some key areas in the intake. Makes you wonder what they're doing over there!
Very promising. With E85 you might need to limit the boost down low to keep the torque down, protect the clutch and gearbox then taper the boost back in to give a big top end. A flat 400Nm up to 6500rpm would be great.
Need mo powa)) Boost it little bit more, up to 12psi+. Curious about engine/transmission limitations. Hope it will handle much more torque in comparison with gen1
Sorry I missed this comment! We do have some we can share but it's very difficult to show power on the street without getting in trouble from the authorities!
Our turbo kit's come with an increased capacity sump (+1L/Quart). We have 3 2022+ cars doing fairly regular trackdays with this setup with no signs of concern to oil pressure.
cool that you turbo'ed it but I am still unclear on what your actual gains were made with a header, normally aspirated and on what gas. Could you please breakdown those numbers in a clear concise manner? Thank You
I really do hope this is clear and concise enough for you. We make videos as abit of fun to try and help grow our respective businesses and put out the most informative free content we can. If you still don’t have the answers you’re looking for please feel free to email me at alek@racefix.com.au
As below you can't use a standard manifold for turbo. We haven't tested it with a standard catback. This car had an SME 3" single exit in this video, it now has an SME 2.75" dual system. We have customers cars on Invidia R400 and HKS Spec L ii.
They should bring out supercharger kits for these car that would really make this special. Turbo charging ruins the naturally aspirated feel what a shame
Supercharging the FA24 would be a total waste of time and money. They already have great NA outputs both tuned and factory. Modern turbo chargers are so linear that you really don't lose that feel everyone talks about with SC, you just make heaps more torque and power, more reliably and for the same money. Long story short if you want NA feel, stay NA. If you want good power, go turbo!
We've all been super busy and we've been waiting for the E85 follow up video to show some driving video. Rest assured the car has been used as a commuter every day since the turbo was put on!
308 whp / 295 ft lbs. Solid stuff; How it should have came from Toyota. Fantastic work guys
NO 💀
That’s what the Supra is for

What’s the torque numbers?
Congrats! Huge achievement and to be pushing these numbers so early.
Now its your turn ;)

Kit looks so well thought out. Great work SME! Great work Alek capturing it!

wow unbelievable the pro tuner didn't think of that...
Pretty sure the point of TH-cam is the audience.
Definitely seeing these guys to get my turbo conversion done in the future - great project so far :D
was torn between gr supra or save my money for brz turbo, so far this has convinced me to go with the brz

Alek, do you have any footage of the turbo 2022 brz on the street? It looks very promising! Congratulations.

Can confirm the stock clutch leaves the building at 410whp on a mustang dyno
There a GR86 here in America that did 410 on a mustang using e70 and stock clutch, gearbox, engine, and fuel system
Stock clutch left the building while on the dyno. So also can confirm the clutch will go before the transmission
Marin confirms
It’s been fun watching Marin and Josh lindner go back and forth for highest horsepower 86 in the US, now someone just needs to find Marin a clutch.
Do they have TH-cam channels? Haven't heard of these guys
Love the videos man! Would be great if you could get some acceleration videos as well if possible
How have you handled the drops in oil pressure that occur on long bends on the track?

yo how much for a turbo kit & install in one of these
Thats so exciting mate! Love the video, I need to see more! 😎
Was this tested on stock exhaust and headers. If no, what system were you using? Thanks for all your work?
stock headers? turbo uses a turbo manifold. A supercharger can used OEM header/manifold or after market.
