Daft Punk wrote their album discovery with intention of capturing the sounds of different eras of music. Noah and the Whale covered this song with real instruments and used the same style and tones of the era Daft Punk was trying to capture (the 80's). Therefore I find that this song has more of the original spirit that Daft Punk was going for than their original "Digital Love". To say it another way, it sounds like Daft Punk is the cover and this is the original.
The drums are way off? Are you kidding me? Just because the guitar is the most apparent sound out of all the instruments, that doesn't mean the others are just nothing or bad. The drums and bass supported the guitar very well. Listen to it over and over again, then tell me if the drums are way off. As for the bass, it's perfect. The bass was always there when the vocals/drums/guitar needed it. And lastly, the vocals, it's purely subjective.
Street Nomad The drums are alright. I might add that he keeps very good time, a skill that's actually somewhat hard to come by, but overall it's not really how I would do it.
the music lacks the subtlety of love, remove the drums... and the voice lacks intention and emotion, you sound like microsoft sam, the speech synthesis of windows... and that guitar is the best part but smooth it a little bit.
+Bid ohrama Completely agree. Daft Punk intentionally uses a robotic style voice, which make this even worse, because a robot has more emotion than this vocal performance essentially. The effort put into the production for the original is what makes the song so great, it sounds very half-assed here.
B orama it's a dance track? Remove the drums!? Not everything has to be dripping in emotion, this is pure and simple happiness and it makes me smile every time.
Still listening to this in 2024.
The guitar is just perfect!

Funk originated in the mid-1960s and Disco originated in the early 1970s - where does the 80s era come into it? You crackhead
James Synth/Pop and electronic music popularized in the 80’s, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure, New Order, you get the point.
Good job!
It's growing on me.

Is there a intrumental version?
Darlin anyone ?
maybe it's just me but the vocalist sounds a little off key at parts. i'm not saying it's not justified, just an observation
Hazer Yenice more like I'm very good at giving constructive criticism to a brick wall. (Unless by some chance he's reading these comments :D )
yo the singer got one kind of vocal tune but thing is he does sound off key at some parts where he couldn't control his pitch ..
+Uegene Dyalnburke feature not a bug. Makes it more like a live band
#funky #lovinit
Incredible cover even the vocals better than original
hermosa, buenísima, pero... no hay como la original !
This is cool, but the vocalist kills it for me.

+Tara LS bad

Ech. drums and vocals are way off, but the guitarist is really good.

The drum pattern in this cover is very similar to the original so I guess some people would want to change it up a little bit.
The music in this cover is awesome. Unfortunately the vocals need a lot of improvement.
It's his style
