I was really happy to see a lot of homework tracks bc although its not their best album it is barely mentioned by other cover artists apart from around the world and da funk
@@TheBill79 nah it's easily the worst one imo. Still spectacular, but in what way is it the best? No concept, not much of a theme, and some of the songs are incredible for DJ use but drag on a little on a casual listen. Highly influential, incredibly produced, but it's not their BEST.

it feels good to play Daft punk through my sound system. nice clean sound, crossover in speaker boxes , and speaker boxes that take account of sound waves
Man that's a lot of work, but totally worth it. I'm, let's say a lazy audiophile, just good headphones. I like the music in the air feeling with speaker systems but too lazy to build one. Cheers man. Good taste in music.

increible.....viejo son increibles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dios que buen tributo a daft punk.... Porfavor hagan algunas versiones completas como por ejemplo one more time. fragments of time o giorgio. Amazing guys, great job.
This wasn't pre recorded. That's the whole entire point of these guys. To perform live in real time what was previously considered unperformable, live.
Samples, yes. Triggered real time. That's all Fairlights did, they didn't "synthesize" anything. Backing tracks, nope. Real time modulation likely using Antares Audio products. Combined with a fair amount of Novation controllers to patch and trigger it all. Might want to check out the interview Novation did with them. us.novationmusic.com/community/news/introducing-recreate-daft-punks-iconic-album-discovery-on-bbc-radio-1
Bryan Montford It's just difficult to see all of the samples/synths being triggered all at once. For example, it's unknown how the guy with the sample pads is changing patches/banks etc. Could well just be a foot pedal or similar, or perhaps somebody off-camera is doing it, or more likely it's beat-synched to a timecode running off a laptop or similar. It's entirely possible that there was no playback, so the stuff that's not technically a 'one-shot' seems like it could, for all intents and purposes, be a loop..... Doesn't change the fact that it's impressive! :-)
Jon Turner Bryan Montford Just to clarify - there is no backing track at all. We are playing to a click track running off an iPhone purely to keep us at 125bpm. Samples are being triggered live from the sample pads, but the majority of these are individual hit sounds/textures that would be single note presses on a synth. There's a limit to how much six people can play at a time, so there are occasional samples that are more full (a few notes triggered by one hit), but all of these have been recreated by us (by hunting down the tracks that Daft Punk originally sampled themselves, pulling them apart and remaking them), then splitting our recreations into individual hits that are played live. Iain had broken his right hand a few weeks before the session, so he's playing everything on the pads left handed, and using his right hand to change patches every four bars or so. The whole thing is one live take (the fourth run through we did I think) and there is nothing out of shot going on, aside from the mix that was done in real time by the BBC wizards. Hope that clears things up!
I agree!!!. And I really think that if they even have the bass player footage available, they didn't use it because they don't know how bass sounds. Also, when it's beeing edited, they usually do it whith small consumer speakers, so you can't really hear and feel the bass. That's my guess anyway. Really amazing muscicians, recording engineers and....amazing bass player!!!!
Putting all these song bits together and smoothly transitioning ... priceless.
I was really happy to see a lot of homework tracks bc although its not their best album it is barely mentioned by other cover artists apart from around the world and da funk

Lots of pre-recorded tracks/samples but still a tour de force. Bravo!

Umm...there are clearly pre-recorded backing tracks and samples in use here. I don't know what to tell you. Would you like me to cite examples?

That bass player is doing work! Too bad they literally show a close up of everybody in the band EXCEPT for him.
