don't get me wrong nobody is saying wrestling has to be all comedy, and it isn't, AEW have currently managed to find a nice balance between fun and serious
But anyone who still thinks that wrestling today should try to be a completely , in a world were everything about the industry is laid bare, are lying to themselves through nostalgia
also if we had gimmicks in the past like Bever fucking Cleavge that was even attempted, then we are already to far gone

Given what just happened at NJPW Dominion and the heartbreak that's followed, I needed some lighthearted wrestling moments like these

EVIL turning was kinda needed. Naito was supposed to have a monster run with the two belts, but covid ruined that and BC is running on limited personnel since the gaijins that isn't ZSJ aren't around so something has to happen. I'm surprised that it wasn't Sanada who turned since he's a better fit in BC, but I guess Gedo opted for the guy with the better promo skills.
if nothing else, you got the "NOBODY saw this coming" factor.
None of my experiences get to this list's level, but seeing two wrestlers kill the referee, panic and flee and that's the end of the match was quite hilarious. xD
Missed moments:
-The crowd shouting "We don't know you!" when Archibald Peck turned up as The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger in Chikara
-Lance Steel vs. Lance Steel
-the "keep the balloon from hitting the ground" match from Schadengraps
-Young Bucks superkicking the announcer at PWG and him getting his revenge the next night
-Marty Scurll snapping the fingers of the PWG ref during a Guerrilla Warfare match with Chuck Taylor, and the ref being unable to count the pin
-SESSION MOTH MARTINA
the "keep the balloon from hitting the ground" match sounds like a blast :D
I remember watching The Final Deletion match in hospital after hearing about it via WhatCulture (I was recovering from spinal surgery complications at the time) and boy it was a treat. While I've never seen an episode of TNA in my life, that match was the comedic relief I needed, from Matt's strange accent, Vanguard 1, Senior Benjamin and "It's a dilapidated boat!" it truly was a fantastic experience. Also, Jericho giving the Judas Effect elbow to the Jaguars mascot > Hangman riding a horse for me
Brian Kendrick was in the thumb match as well. That was still a damn good moment
Honourable mentions: the entire 15 minutes of when Adam Cole joins the Bullet Club. Where the Young Bucks superkick everyone including their dad, and also try to superkick a cameraman before another man screams “JESUS that’s a $40,000 dollar camera!” before calmly putting it down and getting super kicked.
The entire 6-pack challenge at Fight Club Pro between Trent Seven Tyler Bate Pete Dunne Travis Banks and CCK. It’s free on TH-cam, just watch it. Tyler Bate entering to Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel, Tyler Bate and Kid Lykko having a acrobatic battle before Pete Dunne bites both of their hands then trying and failing to do a backflip, then finally everybody poking each other in the eye including Pete Dunne poking a ref in the eye before Trent Tyler and Dunne all do the Triple H water spit (with Pete failing to do it properly) then as Pete goes back into the ring- the referee pokes him in the eye. It’s just amazing
Just a small one- Peter Avalon vs Kevin Steen in PWG, Avalon goes for a spinaroonie before refusing then is senton bombed by Steen who then does a great spinaroonie.
Adam Cole’s entire introduction at PWG Black Cole Sun. Calling Cedric Alexander ACH before the fans begin a ‘that was racist’ chant which then Excalibur who is announcing everything Adam Cole has told him to say says “and if this ends up in a that was racist chant you can suck my dick” before Cedric kicks Cole so hard he landed in NXT.
The RKO party in PWG where Matt Jackson gets RKO’d off the top rope by someone while Matt is on Nick’s shoulder.
Also in ROH where LIJ wrestle the Bullet Club (Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, Cody and the Young Bucks) where the Bucks Meltzer Driver Daryl the stuffed cat and Hiromu sits in the ring crying while Cody convinces them all to stop. Then the entire London arena start to chant “say you’re sorry” until Takahashi single handedly fights the entire Bullet Club and wins. Also Marty Scurll broke Daryl’s fingers, and Daryl was on commentary the entire match
True number one: "Blampied responds to Pacitti"
When they had the funeral for Aces & Eights Samoa Joe handed the beers around and was about to give one to Kurt Angle but then said “Nah, maybe not;” even Kurt smiled at that.
Also, and this is relative to the individual, but the primary male crowd in ECW always pissed themselves when the Quintessential Studmuffin Joel Gertner gave his own introduction in the form of rhymes; think Andrew Dice Clay but actually funny.
The giraffe as George Washington and Jeff hardy fighting ‘joe Fraser’ is my favourite 😂
Honorable Mention: The entire Rockstar Spud and Grado match in TNA.
Is that the one where they did all the big stars' finishers on each other? Cracked me up when there was a pedigree, and the commentator said "It works every Monday".

The DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship is the best thing in all of wrestling. I think my favorite part of its beautifully nonsensical history is when Yoshihiko lost it to a desk, the desk lost it to a plate, the plate lost it to some rice, the rice lost it to some curry, the curry lost it to a pork cutlet, and finally the pork cutlet lost to Yuusuke Inokuma, because he ate it.
So fun fact, I had a group of friends ask me why I love wrestling so much. So I showed them this video...and I think I just made them wrestling fans.
Thanks for putting Orange Cassidy so high on this list. His match with Gentleman Jervis for Wrestle Circus last year was my match of the year... A sublime masterpiece, Gentleman Jervis takes OC's 'fense (offense? defense? Is he trying hard enough to distinguish?) as only the Gentleman should. This is the match showing that indeed, there is one of everything under a wrestling ring, even pillows and blankies. My god... it's the cat's meow.
One of the many horrible things that Steve Corino has killed this year was a MOTY contender in Orange Cassidy VS Minoru Suzuki. That match was highly anticipated by me and I'll never forgive Steve.
This list is one of the reasons, why I love wrestling. Pur fun, but if we need it, it will be serious again!

There was some promotion out there that had a damned dragon. He was called "Dragon Dragon". It was the shiznit!! Watching the dude in the costume throwing drop kicks while trying to hold his head on was GOLD!
Early days of chikara there. That promotion was so wonderful back then. I remember a gauntlet match from king of trios (2009?) that had dragon dragon and the crowd at the ecw arena lost their damn minds for it. Awesome!

That moment was unintentualy funny so i don't know (no pun intended) if it counts
Honestly for me, it would have to be Chuck Taylor's invisible grenade that leads into an atomic drop after stuffing said grenade into his opponent's wrestling tights. He has done this a few times during tag matches for Chikara. And the timing of the reaction from the other wrestlers and the ref when the atomic drop is hit is beautiful.
Years ago my brother booked a local promotion that I ring announced for (a teenage Pete Dunn wrestled for them as "Tiger Kid") and they had this rassler called "The Ninja". The guy had full authentic ninja garb and was crap in the ring, my bro had this idea that the lights go out then when they come up 9 other identical ninja (undercard guys) appear and all 10 superkick the opponent, then the lights go out and they're gone. It got veto'd because the venue couldn't cut all the lights without cutting the power and they didn't have the budget for the attire. I for one am gutted it didn't happen.

There ends up being a finger gun. It gets aimed at the crowd, we all duck etc. to avoid the bullet, Trent gets the gun, shoots himself in the head, goes down etc. I was crying with laughter. Unreal.
Another moment was Aussie Open vs CCK (Brookes/Banks) at a HOPE Wrestling show. There ends up being a blinding spot, all four wrestlers are blind, ends up being both members of Aussie Open wrestling each other for five mins. It's just wonderful.
3:01 Chono slapping Hosei sums up Japanese TV 😂 The show is called Gaki no Tsukai for anyone interested
Every time I forget about Chono slapping Hosei only to re-discover it half a year later is always the best. Everyone seriously need to watch it.
Scott Steiner ring announcing an IMPACT! episode directed by the Main Event Mafia is still one of the best things out there.

Johnny Swinger as Suicide was hilarious
One of my favorite non-WWE comedy spots was from CHIKARA, with Soldier Ant from The Colony (a faction themed around, yes, ants) saving his teammates by falling on an invisible grenade. In slow motion. And even the other team, commentators AND CROWD IN ATTENDANCE were in slow motion.
The great WOOOOOOOOOOO off was gold and it’s a shame we will never see it’s like again
I don’t understand why people whine and complain how comedy has no place in wrestling, I honestly love and appreciate some laughs to get away from dead serious emotion for a while
Moral of the story: Japan is amazing.
I still love watching Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega thumb wrestling and dancing and singing to John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.
There was also an absolutely hilarious triple threat double table match (The wrestler won by putting both opponents through tables, not just the first table break to end it) with Matt Riddle, Keith Lee and Jimmy Havoc. Keith trying to break Riddle through a table several times and it not breaking was great, as was Havoc intentionally beginning the match by throwing HIMSELF through a table he sets up in hopes of it counting as a point in his favor right away.

A good list and a fun watch (as always). Personally, I would have included the utter brilliance of Dragon Dragon. With so many wrestlers calling themselves some variation on Dragon, it was about time an actual Dragon made an appearance.
If he could've included either Lance Steel's battles with Lance Steel OR anything involving Archibald Peck, that would've been ace.
I think the Kevin Nash/Paparazzi/X Division stuff in TNA is criminally underrated. It plays directly into Nash's strong suit. No wrestling. No bumping. Breaking kayfabe & getting paid.
There is one backstage skit in particular that is exception with push-ups & regulations. It rules.
This best part about the aces and eights funeral was the beers getting handed out and the double take for giving Kurt angle a beer

That SSB vs Incoherence match is absolutely amazing. Definitely a goto when i want a good laugh.
That Jay Lethal/Ric Flair segment is pure gold!

There's a classic video that you missed from an old ROH match that featured Bryan Danielson against So Generico. Now, we know that both men are awesome wrestlers, but I couldn't tell you what the match was like. Instead, the important part took place before the match. From the time that both men were in the ring to when the starting bell rang (about 5 or 6 minutes), Generico & Danielson improvised comedy gold... all without Generico saying a single word. Just look up "Generico Danielson hug it out"!
A local indy wrestler called Snack Time Curtis Taylor whose whole gimmick involves coming to the ring with a bag of cheetos and seeing if he could throw them in the ref's, or even his opponent's, mouths. Its' lead to everything from a few chuckles, to full-on belly laughs depending on how everyone else sells it. Just a little something from here in Ohio that I thought I would share.

Personal favorite will always be the Raven / Kanyon WCW videos where we find out that Raven is and always has been Johnny Polo on the inside and the Raven character is just so his parents will give him more money.
I'm a bit sad that no Being the Elite moments were on this list. I still love Joey Ryan's funeral and the Exorcism of Cody.
