Fitting since Messmer suffers from the same issues Morgott does, a lack of HP and crippling weakness to ranged attacks. I don't know if I was overleveled or anything, but Messmer could 2 or 3 shot me, and yet he died twice as fast as most other bosses, so he seemed a bit of a glass canon compared to the likes of Rellana or Bayle. Either that or he's weak to magic, since I was playing a sorcerer and haven't started my second playthrough with another character yet.
@@urtoryu_dy_althraidnlet me tell ya no boss has magic weakness in dlc, magic may seem good because it deals absurd damage regardless of 40% magic negation, majority of dlc bosses have fire, lightning(due to paddle of water in almost every single boss arena) and holy type of damages. I had faith dex build so I just used flame art infusion or lightning infusion or sacred blade against undead dragons, and putrescent knight. And funnily enough Radahn in 1st phase has 0 holy damage negation, maybe due to the fact he is soulles shell in 1st phase(i did not it when i was fighting him though)

It's been a bit of an odd experience to switch characters now and realize I'm doing more damage with less optimized builds than I was with my sorcerer, but I think it wasn't a bad call when playing sorcerer felt as balanced as it did (And I'm really exited for my holy character now that I looked at the resistances) Sorcery was always really powerful, but it's very fun to play with so I wouldn't like if it was nerfed. Having more resistant bosses is a good decision in my eyes. I also noticed the new bosses seem to avarege to 120 stance isntead of the 80 from the base game, which is probably following the same principles since stance breaking builds were extremely strong in the base game. (My strength playthrough was pretty much just as easy as my intelligence one because of that, if not even easier since I was more experience at the game)
I always love the concept that canonically speaking, during multiple fights, our character whoops their enemy to half health, then just chills for like 2 minutes why they talk about personal problems before getting stronger.
I like to think the player character is just catching their breath. Oh, sure, gameplay means we don't need to worry about that, but in real life fighting these monsters would be *exhausting.*
This man is straight up menace to all souls like bosses. The DLC hasn't even been out that long and bro doing no damage runs. I can just imagine the bosses waiting in the boss room be like, "oh, someone is here.... oh, he's not wearing any armor. Fxck"
Most of the main DLC bosses are mid, so it's a given. The AI for most of them seems fucked. It's just slightly better than that of the ER Convergence mod.
I love how he puts that wall of flame out and then lunges his spear through the middle! It seems almost exactly like how Owl Father does it in Sekiro(when you fight him in the lady butterfly arena).
I finished this BOSS today, and i realized that he throws the fire/sparks with his hands and the moment the spear goes through it becomes fire infused, thats why some spear attacks don't have fire bcs he don't burned it at the moment
Beat this fight shortly before heading to bed yesterday and I’m still in pure ecstasy over how fucking good it was. Nicely done, always happy to see how you maneuver around my favorite fights in the game.

@@Redeyedjedii A mixture of patience and sheer luck tbh, I was using a colossal hammer so I needed to be mindful of my openings, the general gist of it is that if he does a combo with an instant finisher, you get a light attack, if he does a delayed one, you get a fully charged heavy. Might take a while, but if you’re patient you can slowly kite him down, best of luck, I’m sure you can do it.

No extra equipment or using health pots. (Just a straight sword) Thank you, for sharing your experiences with community; I’ll continue to learn from your example and push onward when fighting these bosses.

In my opinion this is fromsofts greatest boss. It was really challenging, but nothing felt unfair. I fought him for a couple of hours, and I never even got close to being upset
Just beat Messmer myself so I figured I'd watch this vid now. He is such a fun bossfight to learn and has so many cool attacks. My only disappointment is that his remembrance weapon doesn't have access to his fire toss into either stab or slash. I think it's be awesome if his base ash of war caused you to throw fire out, and then you can chain into normal attacks for fire stabs and heavy attacks for the slashes, and then using the alternate skill or heavy skill (like how moonveils skill can be used to attack light or heavy) causes you to do the attack it currently has. Then again that would be a lot for one weopan, but seeing how boring big spears moveset is I feel like it'd be cool to see.
Ongbal is always lore accurate whenever he's playing a game. look how he easily steamrolled Ghost of Tsushima and made it look like a Walmart version of Sekiro.
One thing I love abt Messmer is he's different from most souls bosses in that he isn't really past his prime. Most times, you fight the legendary warrior after they've suffered heavy casualties, but with this dlc and Messmers especially they made sure you got their full strength.
Man so good to see someone using the dual axes. Ive been rocking these things the whole dlc and everyone who ive spoken to about them says theyre mid, but they are hard carrying me.
I tried them, but I didn't like the damage they do and the skill feels hard to land properly. I guess I would have to try them in a normal playthrough, outside the DLC until I learn how to use them correctly.
Ngl I thought it was overpriced when they its the size of Limgrave What I was not expecting is 3 legacy dungeons, 2 minor legacies & 11 major bosses. I came across 4 minor dungeons & they are leaps & bounds ahead of the catacombs in the base game. One catacomb was almost the size of minor legacy dungeon Not a fan of the final boss though

Pretty much every boss in this dlc has absolutely stunning visuals in their second phases. Fromsoft outdid themselves once again, just absolute peak.

What I was not expecting is 3 legacy dungeons, 2 minor legacies & 11 major bosses. I came across 4 minor dungeons & they are leaps & bounds ahead of the catacombs in the base game. One catacomb was almost the size of minor legacy dungeon
Not a fan of the final boss though

@COHOFSohamSengupta Final Boss fight was amazing though. If you mean lore implications though, I can get that. I'll wait until people figure out the lore first though, this happened almost similar when people found out that Gael was the final boss for the final dlc of ds3
