Yeah.. Stan Ridgway ! I have Showbiz Is My Life on DVD. He really is genius ! I was stoked to pull that Wall Of Voodoo out of that box ! Thanks for chiming in on this. 👍
He's terrific, and just today.. I was listening to to him and Nancy ! I believe Lee either produced the re issue from '85, or possibly and most likely from the original ISB recording in the mid sixties..
Lee's girlfriend, Suzi, produced Safe At Home" in 65' 66. So.. Lee, after forming his company was directly involved with that iconic record. I love country rock !
Thank you ! I respect bands /artists a great deal.. So I generally appreciate just about every record out there.. The production and the work that goes into the make of albums ! I'm pretty forgiving, and glad that you like what I like ! It is a total blast going out there and running into great records !
Alright Robbie ! I'm still enjoying and getting more into those 70's soul and funk records that I have. Many bands that I only heard of or saw on Soul Train ! Thanks for looking in on this one.
Hi JT!!! that's an awesome find now from Ted's House, now you have two great places to keepo adding great stuff to your collection, excellent and well deserved. cheers and be well
Thank you.. My wife.. she doesn't want to know ! Haha 🤔I was just listening to Montrose "Jump On It" pretty good hard rockin' album. I need "Paper Money" now.. I have the debut, one of my all time favorite records. See you, Cristian !
What a great GP collection Jt. I love the outdoor flip too. Outrider on vinyl...wow! And some great folk stuff. You never fail to impress with your finds. Cheers...Ben
I'm enjoying all of those Gram records ! Ted's house is great new honey hole, mostly all Tower Records stock, and pretty much unplayed, or very little ! I took an extra week off.. Felt good to take a break and have time to watch others a leisurely pace. Steve Herold from Jersey was in town to hang with me.. Working on uploading this vid for tomorrow. Cheers, Ben !
I love Asleep At The Wheel ! I was over at Ted's yesterday, and secured 4 very good records in trade for Cd's that he wanted. I will look at it again, and make sure I don't already have a copy.. Thank you for mentioning this.. Appreciated 😁
Wanted to let you know that I do have Asleep At The Wheel "Served Live" in my country box of records.. I pulled it out to spin again.. Agreed, great album. I used to see them live here in Reno in the late 1970's though 1980. At The "Shy Clown" a rodeo/ cowboy type casino / club !
Fantastic finds JT. The vinyl gods are rewarding you a ton. Possibly you might be running into one major problem. It really looks like that by next year you'll be in dire need of a giant record room. Thanks for sharing and well deserved.
Great video JT and good Gram Parsons finds. Hopefully Teds House becomes a regular visit along with Bill's. I am a big fan of archival live releases of bands and have a good collection of bootlegs myself. I can identify with Ted providing CDR's with great sounding concerts, when you find a brilliant soundboard recording you want everyone to hear it! 🙂
Nice that you understand this ! Ted has turned me on to many a good live recoding or rare stuff in general ! I'll be back at Ted's on Tuesday.. Bringing him a Bob Dylan 1966 Bootleg series #6 in trade for records ! Thanks for the support, it keeps me going on making these kind of vids..✌️
Good idea.. I have to tidy up a bit.. I have hundreds of records in the garage.. shelved in archival or u haul small boxes. Cd's in Bags Unlimited square boxes ( 80 ). Our dry weather makes for better garage storage. Thanks, Richard. I should do one, and I will.
Definitely spent plenty of time at Tower in Reno when I was there. One night I got off work and went over to Cal-Neva and hit a royal on a quarter video progressive for about $3500 and immediately headed to Tower and spent a decent amount on an impulse buying spree. Never knew Ted, but probably crossed paths more than a few times.
So cool ! The flavor of Reno ! It's good to have locals chime in on my video's.. It took awhile. There was Ted, Kyle and JB ( James Brown.. That worked the South Reno store.
Hey Aaron ! Good to hear from you.. Hope stuff is going well with your new endeavor ! I'll see what you have been up to. Thanks for looking in on this one.
Wow ! What a great GP collection. All of those in one pick, it would take you year's to find those in the wild ! Btw I have that Outsider's album sealed. As always great vid ! ✌️
Hey Mike ! Cool that you have The Outsiders.. I will stream some tracks on my way to work today as I spun a few songs only when I bought it last week. 3 of the GP LP's I had never seen before.. Ted gave me the rundown on them. He was the coolest Tower Mgr. at our Reno store ! Thanks again..✌
JT, I am so happy that you have been able to find so many of the artist that you truly love. Wow - those Gram Parsons titles are fantastic. Ted’s home is a lot more organized. .75 each!! Who needs overpriced RSD albums? The Sun comp is great.
I agree on RSD.. I almost went to Sundance Books but I keep thinking about Ted opening 2 more boxes of Tower records next time I go over ! He wants The Band and Dylan Cd's ! His vinyl and jackets are pretty much flawless, Mark. See you on yours..
I get it ! I'm a country rocker from way back ! I'd have to say.. for me, Nashville Skyline got me started. Then in 91, I met and played in our band with Gene Clark's son. A brand of the tree of The Byrds ! Thanks for watching..✌️
Did you ever notice how Emmylou always seemed to sing with the more imperfect singers....Gram Parsons, Neil Young, Tom Waits and so on. I always love the way her vocals stand out with those other singers. You have been quite blessed with the vinyl this year, following along now with both Bill and Ted's big vinyl adventures. Great job getting that International Submarine Band record....that is a tough one to get. That's a perfect setting to show your vinyl stash off in, out in the park. Wow, nice score with the Gentle Giant Freehand still sealed and an OG on top of that. I bet that Kinks EP would be worth a bit too. That Phil Manzanerra album is great, and nice job with that Aztec Camera, a tough band to find. Another great bunch of scores, you just keep hitting vinyl gold!
I'm not sure if the Gentle Giant is a first pressing, I will have to look it up.. Either way, I didn't have it, and at least its a 2nd press, and sealed ! True about Emmylou.. She's the fixer ! Haha for stylized singers. I will Call It Bill & Ted's Excellent Vinyl Collection, or.. The name that you coined. I have done well, that's for sure, Mike.. And I wouldn't have it any other way ! I love having too much to listen to ! I missed out on "Obsession" by UFO at Recycled Records, thought I had it.. But I did pick up some nice ones at my local indie . Steve Herold is coming to Reno next Monday.. It will be my first proper meet-up from a VC member. Should be, and will be fun !
@TCatsDeepVinylTraxx Thanks. Steve and I are pretty good friends. I'm gonna get that UFO album.. I streamed the first couple of songs. It's excellent, and I remember it from a long time ago when friends used to play that one in the early 80s.
@@jtsrecordroom3963 I have seen it, but don't know much about it, but I must say that I was quite curious about it. The only "solo" album I've heard from the duo was the one with "Cry" on it, so I guess I kind of lost track of them after they left 10cc

Aloha JT, Awesome, you got another friends house to go Record Shopping! Hope to see you purchasing more from there. You found some great record albums. My jaw dropped when you were going through the box , I saw that " Attila " Record Album, since im a fan of Billy Joel, not sure if you are ? But it's always great to see bands of yesteryear. Always looking forward to watching your next video. Mahalo Ed
I wanted to pick that Attila album, I am aware of it and what it is. I will give it a listen. I always hear that it isn't very good, I'll be the judge of that, and I bet I will like it ! I will pick it up next week ! Billy Joel really is one of the all-time greats, definitely ! Thanks, Ed.. Aloha ! 🌾
Pretty good !.. Salvation Army in Sparks, Richard. There were two other pickers there.. I arrived first ! Both of those guys have over 10,000 records. Dean sells on Facebook Marketplace.
I appreciate that ! I patch them together.. This one was important to me... Introducing Ted. Awesome guy, you would like him, Dan. The 3 of us have similar tastes in music, mostly.
I need to go to Bill's Garage and Ted's House! That is an impressive Gram Parsons stash you have. I haven't seen that Jimmy Page Outsider album since it was first released. I have the first 2 Wall of Voodoo albums, but I've never seen that one you showed. Aztec Camera! That Neil Diamond At The Troubadour looks mint. I have a very clean copy of that as well. Nice haul JT!
That Neil D at The Troubadour is flat-out cool ! 😆 It used to be at thrift stores everywhere, often in perfect condish ! Outsider is virtually unplayed and spins quiet. Ted has a lot of boxed Tower records, I'll go over again next week to trade . Thank you, Mike !
Hey Jt. That Sleepless Nights is so good. That was my intro to Parsons many years ago. Very cool stuff from Ted’s. I’ve never seen that Submarine band out in the wild. Great Richard Thompson albums. I see you passed on Linda’s solo. Don’t have any of hers. Great thrift finds as well. Cheers.
Yeah.. I might as well get Linda's solo.. Think I'll stream it first. I love country rock and should do a way better vid than my first 2 yrs. ago. Thank you Jack. I was so thrilled with Ted opening the flood gates on his Tower vinyl.. I had to pull over at the park and check out my stash ! Haha
Great finds JT! Nice GG sealed. And you’ll get a burnt cd of 72 Beach Boys. Yep, Plant sings on The Only One on that Outrider album. Have a great week!
Good to know that you like Gentle Giant ! King Crimson and early Genesis are right in there for me as well. My pal Ted is the best, Gary.. I just got Beatles 65 from him and... Attila ! ( in the shrink ).
I'm goin' back ! What a sweet deal, and one of my favorite people. Ted's House is filled with photos of all the celebs that he has met, Steve.. What a cool guy ! Next week, he might bust out another box .. Or two ! Whoo hoo !!! 😆
Hey Dave .. Yeah Man, we like Bob James ! I listened to him a lot in the late 70's along with Earl Klugh and Pat Metheny ( white album and other titles ). See you on yours !
Really ? I sure appreciate it.. I am definitely excited about these GP records, and Ted is finally cutting loose with his personal Tower records Stash ! Thanks for checking this one out.. Cheers ! 🫡
Hi JT. The Gram Parsons LPs are the pick for me. I've got 'Sleepless Nights' and the Shiloh LP. That Shiloh LP is a gatefold sleeve. It's a re-release of the International Submarine Band's 'Safe At Home' LP.
Cool records, huh, Carl ! Again, these are records that were Tower stock , either in the LA stores or Reno. I didn't ask him for his originals of GP and Grevious Angel, as I have them on repress and Cd. Thanks for the extra info.. Cheers, my friend !
Ted had one more copy of a newer pressing of Safe At Home. It's good that you told me that the Shiloh label Gram LP is a re-release. Don't need three !
That's a wild version of Ring Of Fire by Wall Of Voodoo & as The Kinks are my favorite band love the Arista promo only white label. I used to work at Tower Records in Westwood which had 3 floors of music ( Its in a scene in American Gigolo ) & you could get a Promo of any major label & most independent label new releases by request & free concert tickets as well .. The pay ? ..just above minimum wage. Open 9AM - Midnight 365 days a year !
Hey David ! I saw your message earlier, just got off of work. Interesting that you are Tower Alumni as well.. I'll mention it to Ted.. I forget the two stores that he worked at in LA... Right ! Promos.. Ted has a bunch. Going back on Tuesday ! I will show him this message.
Thanks for watching, and We will be back in Tokyo for another record hunt ( I mean me ).. This coming March ! Whoo hoo Going to Tower again in Shibuya 😄
So glad to have it ! Ted and I were saying that Warren's debut is still our favorite.. Heck, they are all good ! "Excitable Boy" is so awesome as well. Thank you.
Thank you for that ! I had never seen it, and I'm glad I didn't pick up that other re-issue of Safe At Home at my friend Ted's house.( Don't need 3 ) Carl Tweed let me know as well.. It's good to have back up from you guys. I usually do my homework. But this was 39 records that I squeezed in to one vid ! I'm lovin' these GP records.. Gene Clark is a big time favorite as well. Cheers !
Yeah.. Me too ! I like all of the country rock stuff.. Really, my favorite bands are The Byrds and everything related.. The Band, and The Dead. And the west coast sound was everywhere when I was a kid here out west. Thanks so much !
@@jtsrecordroom3963 Do you have The Byrds Play Dylan? It sounds like Sweetheart Of The Rodeo. And they both sound like The Flying Burrito Brothers. 🌯 ✈️ 🧔
Thanks for that. I realized this after getting this from my friend.. And after the making of this vid.. I had never seen it.. Ever ! Nice to have, and my Rhino re issue of Safe At Home sounds great !
What threw me off David.. Is the very different running order of the songs on the Shiloh release. In some ways it is an improved track listing of the original Safe At Home.. So, it's not merely a re release.. A re release in a different running order. I was involved in the families of the Byrds. Gene Clark's son and I were in a band together from 1993 - 2000. Partnered up with Kai right after his Dad passed away. Carlie Clark had so many terrific true stories of Gram, Gene, Chris, Michael, David and Roger... And Clarence ! Thanks for your fixing a mistake.. I edited " It is a comp" out of my vid.. Important to get it right.. And I do try !
Thanks for another interesting & entertaining video Jt. I always look forward to new episodes..... One thing I must ask.... Do you already own Robert Lamm's - Skinny Boy LP as I noticed you passed on 2 copies in Ted's house section? If not do check it out as there are a couple of killers on it "Love Song" & "A Lifetime We". (Chris over in the UK)
Really ! I thought about it as I love those boys in Chicago.. I had never seen a Robert Lamm solo. Normally I will stream something that I am curious about.. I will pick up "Skinny Boy" next week and stream it during my commute to work today ! Chris, thanks for this..
Chris.. I listened the single "Skinny Boy" just now.. really great ! No wonder he wanted to do a good solo album, very soulful.. and funky ! Listening to more and I am definitely gonna pick up that one, or .. Why not, both !
Thank you for this.. Ted told me as well, I forgot ! I had never seen 3 of my GP LP's before ! He has one more "Safe At Home" from Sierra Records, I believe.. I'm good, as I have two.. right ! Interesting that it is an earlier version.. will spin both sides later today... Appreciated !
A nice collection of Gram Parsons records, JT. I've got Sleepless Nights on CD, but seeing as I have all the tracks on other records I'm not going to get it on vinyl. It was a bit of a cheeky release. Apart from the two outtakes from Gram's solo recordings which were previously unreleased, the Flying Burrito Brothers tracks had all been released on earlier records. Those tracks were demos of country classics for what might've been the bands third album, but that was shelved after Gram was sacked. I'm not sure Safe At Home by the International Submarine Band really counts as country rock. It's essentially a bunch of long hairs trying to make a Bakersfield sound album. Much like Elvis Costello said in the liner notes to the Gram Parsons comp, they were playing it straight and bringing no rock elements to the sound. Back in the day it might've been called Mod Country, like a lot of country being produced on the West Coast. I love a bit of Tennesse Ernie Ford. Have you heard his 1965 recording of Sixteen Tones? Now that's closer to Country Rock than The International Submarine Band. Check it out! Cheers - Hedley
Thanks, Hedley.. Ted kept his original GP and Grevious Angel.. I have them on good sounding repress, anyway ! I have been scoring more obscure country rock lately. Thanks for looking in, and see you on yours ! 😊
Maybe in LA.. they might have coined the genre Mod Country amongst the players.. All of us fans here out west just called it.. country rock ! Thanks, Hedley.. I love your input knowledge and passion for all of this.
Great pickups , how you do you have so much room for all your Lp’s? I’ve come to a time where I’m running out of space without taking over the entire house. Almost time to thin the heard a bit.
I have big racks in the garage, and true, I have a ton of records.. I am re doing my record room.. A lot of dead space to be used. I can always sell a bit it the future. Thanks ! 👍
nice Gram Parson , never heard of the international submarine band,, nice Joan Jett , nice Kinks , nice Jimmy Page, nice Oliva Gram Parson with real hair questions 1. are my ears working Did I hear you say that you traded cd's for that record? if so you now lost some music to play out side over the summer? 2. it depends on what year you were talking about items cost less in those days but paychecks were less gas cost more because you had to travel everywhere since there was no ordering over the computer? if your refering to say 1976 ok records may be expensive but look at what a check was in those days it depends on what year your talking about?
Hey Mark ! My friend Ted has me order blank Cd's and Blank DVR's. In turn.. We trade. He doesn't listen to his vinyl. Like Bill, he has a lot of records and doesn't spin them because he is way more into his Cd's.
@@jtsrecordroom3963 curious. About how much per record average are you paying for these. I had an Opportunity to buy some John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Alice Cooper , Beatles, J Cash box set, plus Usual lot but had to buy all 560 records. Offered$1000. At least 200 were worthless. Crazy a “ collector” paid her $3500. I’m telling you they were Not worth that. She ( the owner) came out Way better than she would have if sold on day of estate sale. This guy also bought a jukebox For $700 too. I have an inside lead on estate sales in my area
I guess I have a big problem, because I just listened to Gram Parsons for the first time recently, and I did not like it! Richard Thompson, on the other hand, is fantastic. And, your thrift store luck continues!
I understand how you wouldn't like Gram.. Gene Clark might be more enjoyable, Brian. Richard Thompson is outstanding music, for sure ! Did you see that Aztec camera and Wall Of Voodoo ? Thanks !

I'm goin' back ! What a sweet deal, and one of my favorite people. Ted's House is filled with photos of all the celebs that he has met, Steve.. What a cool guy ! Next week, he might bust out another box .. Or two ! Whoo hoo !!! 😆
i have both those 2 bob james record you got,, love his music!
Hey Dave .. Yeah Man, we like Bob James ! I listened to him a lot in the late 70's along with Earl Klugh and Pat Metheny ( white album and other titles ). See you on yours !
Fun picks! Enjoyed as usual!😁
Hey there Craig ! I should let you know that I am becoming a soul funk machine ! Hehe 🤩 Thanks for looking in on this one.
Wow! That is your best video ever, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures! Can’t wait to see more.
@@jtsrecordroom3963 You're welcome.
I love The Kinks as well.. And The Byrds !
I played the hell out of The Envoy in my days as a college dj.
So glad to have it ! Ted and I were saying that Warren's debut is still our favorite.. Heck, they are all good ! "Excitable Boy" is so awesome as well. Thank you.
Great Pick Up’s JT
Thank you, I am enjoying these ! The Jimmy Page is a good record. as well ! 👍 Appreciated..
@@jtsrecordroom3963 you’re welcome
JT: that last Gram Parsons album you showed is not a comp, it is actually Safe at Home in an earlier iteration.
Cheers !
Ted's Gold Mine is more like it.
Really like The International Flying Parsons!!
🥖🛩️😂
🦓
Yeah..
🌯 ✈️
🧔
I do have The Byrds Play Dylan ! Really great album.. This would be a nice one to get on vinyl, although my Cd is good enough.@@RICHARDBOAS-r8m

Aztec Camera. Totally under-rated. Roddy Frame.
Absolutely ! I will be opening this sealed 5 song EP. Thanks ! Roddy Frame.. What an artist !
The Shiloh GP album is merely a re-release of the International Submarine Band album. Gram Parsons and Richard Thompson: you can't go wrong there!
Nice!!!!
Thanks ! I saw your message earlier.. Just got off of work. Appreciated 😆
JT: that Gram Parsons record you showed after the ISB album is not a comp it is actually the same ISB record but an earlier iteration.
You're right about Safe At Home.. So many credit it as being a starting point because of Gram. Ted has one other pressing, I think, on Sierra Records.
Hmmm.. Gram's version of Sixteen Tons ? I will listen !
@@jtsrecordroom3963 No, Tennessee Ernie Ford's 1965 version.
Maybe in LA.. they might have coined the genre Mod Country amongst the players.. All of us fans here out west just called it.. country rock ! Thanks, Hedley.. I love your input knowledge and passion for all of this.
I have unsuccessfully tried to acquire the International Submarine Band lp
Thrifting or 2nd hand is tough.. I almost bought that nice repress of "Safe At Home" from Merchbar.. 23.00. I buy records from them, often !
Thanks ! 👍
I find myself always shuffling things around and have a few overflow shelves in the laundry room.
nice Gram Parson , never heard of the international submarine band,, nice Joan Jett , nice Kinks , nice Jimmy Page, nice Oliva
Gram Parson with real hair
questions
1. are my ears working Did I hear you say that you traded cd's for that record? if so you now lost some music to play out side over the summer?
2. it depends on what year you were talking about items cost less in those days but paychecks were less gas cost more because you had to travel everywhere since there was no ordering over the computer? if your refering to say 1976 ok records may be expensive but look at what a check was in those days it depends on what year your talking about?
Hey Mark ! My friend Ted has me order blank Cd's and Blank DVR's. In turn.. We trade. He doesn't listen to his vinyl. Like Bill, he has a lot of records and doesn't spin them because he is way more into his Cd's.
I was referring to Tower always being expensive for the most part.. any given year that they were open.
Intl. Submarine Band was Gram Parsons 1st record.. 1965.
I have at least 5000 Cd's.. So I didn't lose much. and Ted and I are good friends. We do each other favors.. Thanks, Mark.

Very good for a vinyl addict ! Haha.. Because Facebook Marketplace is a great way to sell a bit , or.. A lot ! Thanks, Steve.
Thanks !
@@jtsrecordroom3963 Yes, I did. I really love Wall of Voodoo with Stan, but I was a little less interested after he left. Aztec Camera is also great.
