You gotta love it when a guy in front of us doesn't pick anything from a primo box of discounted records ! The seas parted for you, and that's what I look for continually. Congrats, and enjoy your very cool scores ! Alice Coltrane, and Horace Silver... Sick! ✌️ Art Blakey records are incredible🎵
Great records, enjoy those ! I did good today as well. When we get the knack for it, there are killer inexpensive records out there, just have to ask, and.. hunt ! 😄
Great video! This one is your BEST; you kept it clean and kid-friendly. Those who do that gain the most subscribers, like Dillon and Sorin! As for your Allman Brothers album, keep the one that delivers the best sound and high fidelity and sell the 2nd copy. Great buys on those Blue Note Jazz albums! I am really impressed by your versatility in music; great to see the younger generations appreciating the music from way back! Several of your finds are still in the shrink wrap, which is ALWAYS a plus because it protects against ring wear. Congrats on your finds and I look forward to your next video! Walter
Hi 👋 im viewing from New Zealand. Im in my sixties in age. I own a large music collection ranging in all different genres. Marmalade were popular in the late 1960s early 1970s. Reflections of my Life i like and was a hit in 1969 /70. Sly & the Family Stone are a cool group. My favorite track of theirs is the song Hot fun in the Summertime. The O' Jay's were huge in the 1970s, they had a string of hits. Their song Love Train from 1973 is good. I know what you mean about some record store owners . Some are dodgy, and some of their records are over priced. I love Mott the Hoople. They were a British Glam Rock band. All the way from Memphis and Roll away the Stone are favorite songs of mine by them. War put out good Soul / Funk music. I like putting old music from the past on , it's all nostalgic for me now. I like Jazz. I had the pleasure of seeing trumpter Miles Davis in concert in the 1980s. Great records there , you have done well. From Carl.
Hello! I definitely need to give Reflections Of My Life another listen. Didn’t hit me on the first listen but maybe the second listen will do it. Not the method I can actually listen to the first track on each side now haha. Yeah Sly & The Family Stone is great! Still need to give There’s A Riot Going On a spin. I would love to find the O’Jays records before they signed with Philadelphia International. Those were before they got super popular so I suspect the music will reflect that and be a bit more up my alley. Also still need to give that Mott The Hoople record a listen! And aw man I’m jealous to hear you got to see Miles Davis live! I just recently got original copies of Bitches Brew and Kind Of Blue so been really digging his stuff recently! Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Amazing stack of records there! Two personal heavy hitters off the bat with Sly and David Crosby. I’m jealous of some of the later jazz things you show - I only have Crossings by Herbie as of yet, and Alice Coltrane! I do have an original UK stereo copy of Live At Birdland - that’s the album that got me into JC. Wonderful stuff. And I recently picked up my first Art Blakey record too - A Jazz Message, with Sonny Stitt, McCoy Tyner, and Art Davis. Like I say, killer haul! Many great hours of listening.
Oh - and Mott The Hoople are an incredibly overlooked band IMO. People know the hits, but those early Island era albums (released on Atlantic over your way) are excellent. Very solid debut there. At The Crossroads and Rock And Roll Queen are the highlights, and their version of You Really Got Me is no slouch either!
Yeah I still can’t believe this haul. Will definitely have to check out that Art Blakey record. Of the three I got, I’d have to say Mosaic is probably my favorite. Listened to that two days ago with my friend and I was blown away. I’m also really looking forward to hear the Mott The Hoople record. I don’t believe I’m familiar with any of their stuff so it’ll definitely be a treat! Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
I found a copy of the 1973 Charles Bevel record at Goodwill last week. I picked it up even though I'd never heard it or anything about it. Glad I did. Great album. (Bevel also has a Ted Talk that I found on TH-cam that is very worthwhile to check out.)
Yeah I’m so happy I picked up on that record. It’s so good! It’s a shame he didn’t make any more music. There’s only one song on any of his singles that don’t appear on this album. He did make an album that came out on CD in 2000, but I assume it’s probably impossible to find in the wild. Also unsure on how good it is with him being much older when he recorded it.

Will do! I gotta sit down one of these days to compare them. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
