I love her version of this song it is more heartfelt especially because she was pouring out her feeling toward her abusive mom after she passed away in a car accident when Sinéad was 18 years old. This is why Sinead fought hard to put on blast Child Abusers (Her dad also had part in her abuse). She had such a horrible childhood in the hands of very abusive parents. RIP Sweet Angel 😥🙏🦋♥

That's not true where did you hear that story, Prince did not like when other people who weren't his friends cover his song. The only reason Sinead O'Connor was able to cover this song was because Prince's record label Warner Bros. owned the rights to his masters at the time and they approved Sinead O'Connor covering this song. Prince actually wrote this song in 1984 and gave it to a group he started called The Family who's version is the best in my opinion.

Not only did she stand up for the children who were abused by trusted clergy members, she also shaved her head as a big 🖕 to the record execs who objectified her by pressuring her for sex and pushing her to wear skimpy clothing for a more ‘sexy’ image. She made impacts in very significant ways, even at her own peril, and I hope she gets the recognition for it that she deserves.
