      It sounds like it's either metaphorically describing drug addiction or literally describing obsessive/hyper dependent love.

      @@mnomadvfx It's not about drug addiction or obsessive hyper dependent love. It was written by Prince about a breakup with a girl he loved. That's all. (He called her momma in one line. Because Sinead said she was reminded of her mother's passing by the song, she left the momma comment in when she sang it).

      She is a child she does not know what real love is. She is too young to honestly understand how deep the pain of losing someone you love is. She has probably never lost anyone close to her, so she most likely does not understand real loss. She will as she ages, the world will make sure of that.

    • @WoWGirl6
      @WoWGirl6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@VadulTharys This could be true, in which case, he probably shouldn't have a girl as young as her commenting on deeper songs like this. First, he needs someone older enough and who is willing to review and breakdown the components of said song. From the musical components to the creative/different interpretations or literal translation of the lyrics. That's my 2 cents anyways.

    She told The Daily Telegraph in 2014 that the tear was triggered because she associated the song's lyrics of love and loss with her mother, who was killed in a car accident in 1985.

    In memory of seeing a MTV interview. The reason for the closeup I do believe that the video is a recording of the song. She did this studio wise and it's a pre-release of the song to. Meaning it's not even lip-sync. The closeup is actually hiding the mic that we don't even know is there. Now I'm not sure if the vid was out with the song? Though I think this is the first time that a recording live was ever done as a professional video. It's indeed incredible!

    Sadly Sinead is no longer with us - she passed away on the 26th of July 2023 - found unresponsive in her London home - cause of death as of yet unknown...! - She recently lost her teenage son...!
    This was recorded in 1991 I think - shortly after her mother died in a car accident - she had a troubled childhood and history with her mother and she died before they had a chance to reconcile....! - Sinead refers to her mother and sheds a tear in the line about the flowers in the backyard - genuine pain and sorrow - that's where the emotion came from...!
    RIP Sinead O'Connor - her Heart & Soul will live forever through her music....! 💔☘

    I think it's significant that Sinnead teared up after the verse mentioning "mama", because of course she was battered by her mother, so then that line about "I know living with you baby was sometimes hard, but I'm willing to give it another try" takes on another picquancy, because she always grieved for the relationship she wished her mother would have given her.

    Your daughter actually was Bang On. Sinead's version was about her Mother, not a boyfriend, who was abusive to her in every way possible, until she had to leave to survive. I can relate. You still desperately want their love, even though you know on a conscious level as an adult what they offer is nothing like love. A kid just can not relate, and even as an Adult, the pang of pain permeates everyday, you bury it until you can forgive, and only then can you move on.

    She was not singing that she can't do things before, she sings that she could do what she wants now, because you don't have to take care of another persons interests and feelings when you are alone, but you are still alone. That has nothing to do with abuse or something like that... oh, you got that in the end... I was "shooting" to quickly... By the way, Sinead O'Connor is very great in delivering emotions. Try her singing Pink Floyds "Mother" when they played live in Berlin 1990. By the way, I was at that show and it was an awesome experience and after the fall of the Berlin Wall not a year before very emotional too. Never saw so many people crying at a concert, me included.
