Castlevania, Silent Hill, Metal Gear, PES. Konami has ruined every once great franchise they own. Worst videogame company around. They have disdain for their consumers.
What I hate most about efootball is the same thing that I hate most about fifa - when you're facing a P2W team with cracked players it doesn't feel like your opponent's players are better, instead your players get nerfed to the ground and become completely inadequate and incapable. It's what I call the "reverse powercurve" mechanic. Messi with 90+ dribbling stats all the sudden takes 3 seconds to contain the ball and most defenders can't complete a single pass.
I thought I was tho only one experiencing this! I was going nuts and wanted to quit the game! My neighbors must’ve thought I was crazy for screaming when players didn’t even react or passed the ball in a direction I didn’t even point out to!
This is the current state of passing. I did some testing on AI beginner difficulty and switching between PA1, 2 and 3. After some 5-8 passes in your defensive line the game inserts a random crappy pass 90-180 degrees of direction. To create an opportunity for the other team.
Don't knew if you had this. My GK time and again not throwing ball wide to fullback but throwing it down the pitch. I thought it was me at first then it started happening 3 or 4 times every game!

Agreed. It went from the best football simulator to a basic mobile game from 2010 with the same animations, same goals, useless refrees, interceptions based cr@p.
Stopped playing FIFA and eFootball altogether about 2 years back because they're both awful. Online modes like Ultimate team (or Pay to win by it's real name) has ruined football games forever. The closest thing I can play to a football game now that doesn't get me angry is Rocket League. What a sad time it is for football video games. I remember thinking when PES 5 & 6 came out, imagine how amazing this is going to be in 15 - 20 years. Unfortunately I had no idea that developer greed was going to ruin it.

We all knew Konami didn’t take us seriously when they released an update of PES 20 and charged us $40 for it so they can take the year off to “work on next gen Efootball “ yet they still released an absolute garbage game even though they had a whole year to work on it 😭. You can't build a game in one year, on a new engine. They should've just kept releasing updates to PES and give themselves time to build the new game. We would've complained but it would've been better than this.
Get the word out to other streamers. You guys have the most influence in the community. A real boycott may turn their heads especially since the player base is so low already

The worst part is, PES 20 and PES 21 was getting so close to the perfect game! All they had to do with continue with that base game! Makes me so angry.

Totally agree with the fouls. AI never give away free kicks, but almost every tackle on them and they get a free kick. And the amount of times they block shots and passes is ridiculous, even when they are on lower levels.
Completely agree with the ridiculous defending buff segment of the rant. It’s nearly impossible to switch the play, 90% of the time the defenders just lock on to the ball and get to it before the intended target. Sometimes I use the full power bar to switch the play and the ball still finds a way to lock onto the defender.
I thike like Spoony mentioned in video... it looks like to get this game payto win... play it, and tell me you are not at least 70% sure that this is the direction Konami is going for.
@@SpoonyPizzas maybe if they had a solid game with loads of offline options people might be more likely to spend a bit of money on it to play online. Sad thing for us is that we can’t even turn to eafc as that’s just a shambles of a game
what i also wittnesed you did not mention it. the last couple of days I got absolutely butchered by basic teams. i could not pass, i could not dribble. And i'm a monster in dribbling. Defense was like eating potato chips for the opponent. they could stop every attack instantly. while i could not defend at all. Baresi for example my strongest defender. One stat is even over 100. But not only him, every defender they just refused to defend, weird positional awareness and if i followed the opponent with the defender he was not pressing at all, he was just barely touching him from behind. Like a little child who would play against a older stronger player. while i was in a constant chase mode, every pass of the opponent went through, long lasting tiki taka in my half and the opponent defense was like a teflon pan. my goals were beautiful with my individual effort while the opponent scored every single goal with the help of the AI. I could not apply the same bias to him. i lost almost every match. What the hell is this? Thats what i call scripting. I mean its just sad. so many spend so much money and time for this franchise and they just dont care. from my feeling they had to reboot the system to the beginning to upload whatever is coming but the whole things coding is just a mess in my opinion.
I feel you. I'm noticing the exact samething. I'm getting beat by guys I normally beat 5, 6 to 1 that are level 4-7. My team can't do anything and you can tell there is something sinister going on under the hood because very strange things are happening that totally favor my opponent. I had my 102 rated keeper with form arrow up make an easy dive save where he didn't even have to stretch out somehow make the save then this weird glitch animation kicked in and the ball magically ricochets thru the keeper and into the net - the save had already been made then this delayed ricochet happens. It's obvious to me that Konami is scripting games for lower level players to win so these people keep playing.
This is exactly my feelings. I went from 1200 ranking to 11,000 in the space of one week. Lost over 15 matches by conceding silly goals and mistakes. My players can't make a decent run
@@The_pes_boy1 currently the gameplay is acceptable in my opinion but there is still a lot of room for improvements. i experienced good connection when i close the wifi on my router and only connect my ps4 with cable. But sadly i think that ef25 will be the same game. The vast majority has to adapt to this gameplay and lack of content because of the professional efootball players... i have a feeling that Konami only accepts their feedback and cuts the game for their needs. professionals dont give a damn about offline content and good mechanics. they only want to engram the current mechanics into their reflex profile in order to win games. And i kind of think that konami has special agreements with professional teams to buy epic cards.
AI defending is too strong. You don't even have to press the tackle button and the defender will still automatically do the challenge. Only think that works is through balls when the defender suddenly stops to let the ball through. That's why 99% people play quick counter PA1 ping pong and nobody tries to dribble or build up play anymore. They need to balance the playstyles
Yeah just get defender near enough and he automatically makes tackle. WTF what were Konami thinking going this route. There has to be a skill gap and learning curve to the game. We can’t be holding people’s hands like this
@@Neo_Rain146 yeah I remember in older pes games you actually had to spend at least a few games learning how to play. Now with PA1 it's just so easy, it eliminates any skill gap. You can just spam one touch passes and it works

What happened to our beloved Winning Eleven. I remember as a kid thinking how good the game would be in like 10 or 20 years time, how those geniuses at KCET will put more and more of the beautiful game into binary with an emphasis on fun, realistic, unpredictable gameplay with players who feel like their actual selves. How wrong I was, but who could have predicted this sort of regression...
I believe the executives have their children playing the game and since they are losing they just update the game to favour them. I have never seen something that favoured one style of play so much
Good summary of the update. You forgot to mention the lobbed through balls - they are played too close to players and players always stop running for a sec.
I am repeating myself. Everything went wrong after they changed their direction and through away 0.9.1. Since 1.0 we are back to pes, modified Pes with no content. I don't play this game for 6 months. I was there even in 0.9.0. When I watch clips, some live content I still don't feel like playing it again. Too bad, to sad...
Version 1.0 is when this assisted defending got introduced. All went downhill from there because noobs complained that defending was too hard. Guess what, now we have a almost fully automated unresponsive mess
hy spoony, I was on vacation for 2 weeks and the day before yesterday, when I was back home, I played 2 games and then turned off the console. it's very frustrating, whenever I'm in the opponent's half, I am pushed away by an invisible wall. I understand that the game is based on interceptions, but not to this high extent. I'm not one to install and delete the game, In any case, I don't have high hopes that Konami will follow our wishes, since the opinions of old PES players no longer have any relevance in efootball. I thought i was the only one who felt that whenever i take the first touch, i always felt like the player was not in control in split second giving chance for opponents to tackle just in case.

100% agree. Why Konami change gameplay every version? And it's getting worse. Version 3.5, the game even don't have shortcut button for go to home menu without pressing back button many times. 😂
I remember the one update where the only way to score was crosses and headers. They nerfed everything else. Then next update they buff and need something else. They can’t just make a balanced game. Just going in circles
Thought I was getting old and swearing more than I should when I play this game, now it's a relief that I'm not alone. I've experienced numerous times when my player going through one on one, opponent made a sliding tackle, despite it's a blatant foul and it's a red card, somehow the player managed to stay on his feet and running towards goal, and suddenly the ref blew the whistle and showed a yellow card to opposition. Manual cursor change is the worst experience I've ever had, at times it switched to the players that are not even on the screen. Even on the training.
One tip for Coinami, for player selection! They need to put controller buttons above the players head. So, when defending, put triangle, circle, square, and the X above the player's head, and by pressing a certain button, you get the player you want to select. Izi....
I've also noticed recently that when I'm playing higher ranked players, in general it allows me to play the game properly and I sort of have some control yet when I come up against players from lower ranks it's almost impossible to play. Whoever you play I feel end up being forced in to playing direct 'dirty' football as you can't trust the passing or dribbling
Decent video. Forgot I mention far to many interceptions with people just blindly holding match up for the cpu to defend for them. Legs extra extending out of their body to intercept passes they should never get to.
1:27 Spoony, lot of the possession gamers were using that shielding technique to waste time and hold the ball. Strikers could easily score goals by shielding and turning to space with that shielding technique. That's why konami nerfed it. In my opninion Konami did the right thing. It was so frustrating when someone cover the ball like that and starts wasting time and we cannot do anything about it.
Spoony Possession game with that shielding might be annoying for some users that's why konami made some changes now, people like me was spamming that shielding all day. And dont forget about the Messi comparison video, we need that one with detailed explanation
If the script kicks in, there's nothing you can do to prevent the cpu from taking shot or scoring goals. This happens on superstar and legend difficulty

The thing is that defender’s don’t get off balance if u left or right side feint. They should make it if u do manual defending only as a FIFA player myself I only use manual defending
Agree, they should revert to 3.4 which was good, nothing is perfect but I was happy with gameplay and this made things worse. Still like the game but much less enjoyable. Like corner glitch and blitz curlers have been nerfed
Efootbal or PES - I've been playing for a long time but - I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU - the 3.5 update is perhaps the worst that Konami released--ONE WORD--------TRASH!? Really terrible, everything as you say, foul-non-foul, balloon as many times as he should be 50 kilos, the defenders don't react and how many times he stands and looks. But the worst are the passes - I have a technical player - MESSI, MARADON, RONALDINHO and I just - tap a little on the record, the opponent is 4 meters away but the player takes a step before kicking it ,considers where to kick it, stretches his leg and, and, he doesn't have the ball anymore because the opponent who was far from my player already ran and took the ball from me, even though I just hit the recording and that player should have sent it in an instant, so maybe makes coffee :o)) DISGUSTING ....TRASH! What amazes me is how some people still play this game - not that I blame anyone for playing what they like. As a result I haven't watched Spoonys videos in a long time because of his focus on this era of pes. I am happy with the PC mods that keep getting better on PES 21.
I played Mortal Kombat 11 whole day. I was so happy getting my ass kicked without any rage. I don’t know if I can ever have that feeling on any other day. Am boycotting forever until I hear some good news. Spoony let us know when any better updates are made
Spoony, this thing happens only in top divisions in division online matches, it's the extreme DGAS(dynamic gameplay adjustment system) or scripting that causes the bad responsiveness. Yeah Tackling from Behind has become common in V3.5 but they reduced the intensity of direct tackling, but Konami will change things in the next update. They tweak the things in all updates, we have to learn and adapt to those changes, that's what makes it challenging. And the New Manager Pep is better than Xabi alonso in all ways. I am using 4231 with 3 amfs and having more than 65% of possession in all matches, it's enjoyable even though the win rate is medium. Pep's defending and player movements are superb.
Same bro, having a lot of success against QC players with Pep. Besides their stamina towards the end of halves is so depleted it's a good time to strike if the game is close!
@@SpoonyPizzas stamina depletion is less in possession game compared to counter attacking. Besides people will stop too much pressing and dashing to conserve the stamina. You can walk and play in possession game, that's another thing i enjoy. I don't use wingers in possession game, 3 amfs, 1 cmf, 1 dmf. Classic no.10 players got huge advantage in terms of stamina. Their stamina will never deplete.
I also tried switching to pep thinking my style of play wasn't cutting it anymore had a lil run of success but it's the same more glaring problem of slow dodgy first touch to be then sped into by the opposition,interceptions, etc
Interesting on defending. One reflection though is I think this is the first time that defenders are given the benefit rather than attackers which is interesting - FIFA and Efootball both just supercharge attacking play so in a weird way it's refreshing to see defenders can win and outmuscle people
It's not even that...defending can be outrageous for one side...then the other side ...you will get the defenders just can't intercept the ball...the momentum changes...and you are forced to play with all your mind because one slight touch and you can get scored by ping pong 424 . To the point that strikers are even playing defense
Nah dude not at the expense of the AI making tackles and positioning players for you. There has to be a skill gap involved in attacking and defending. The problem is before V1.0 all the noobs were crying about how ‘hard’ defending is so Konami said oh well just take care of that for you and have subsequently ruined the entire thing.

@DM-pv8ib that's the thing...when you play defense...the ai is making you not to play defense...thats the script...it pushes you away like a force field...thats called the script...the script when your holding matchup makes your player glide or move to the wrong direction instead of you having full control of your defenders...and if the script is on your side...the game will push it in the right places...meanwhile when it's not on your side...you players make the most dumbest runs...they move left when you are trying to move to block the shot....it's like your players are on rails... People complained about defense ...but they asked for matchup and block to actually work...and interceptions....but instead of bringing it back to the old gameplay because I felt interception used to work pretty well last September 2023...they gave us automation...like its almost like they are trying to mock us by giving us what we want but also making sure we are triggered.. Most of the player base especially consoles are asking for more manual...we want pa1 and 2 removed...they didn't listen to that...they just do what they want or aren't interested so they dump any type of patches ..without even testing it...i play mobile....and I can feel when I have more control over my player...so they know how to implement this...but they don't want to implement it...players complained about defense...and they made it automated...who said we needed automation...we wanted to control the player and actually intercept the ball if we are in the right place...they decided to automated it...felt it will make it easier for also noobs. 100% they listen to complaints but they also mock us
Spoony you are a great voice for us ex pes gamers after a decent football game and I agree with everything you said and hope konami see this video I have to say I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention the main reason I can't play and that is the game speed it is horrible far too fast for me that is the main thing needed to change for me to play. Thanks for putting your voice to them and let's hope for a good update in the future
The gameplay is at its lowest, it's absolutely abysmal. I completely agree with all the points above, apart from maybe "making it more p2w", because no matter how you look at it, epic/legend/booster shiny cards suffer from the exact same issues that any other cards. And when you face a squad that is 10-20 overall points lower, your 103-rated players just turn to mush a lot of the time. There are definitely some balancing mechanics behind the scenes. Regarding the boycott, it won't hurt to try, but imo the only thing that Konami would notice is if the majority of the player base stopped buying coins and spinning the boxes, but that's completely unrealistic to organize. I'm not even sure they keep an eye on the content creators for this game, there's zero communication with the community. The complaints are just piling up on every platform and there's no evidence they are even aware. Even some quality of life things that people complain about for months aren't being implemented. The game is severely mismanaged.
Watched pea universe stream yesterday and in one match it about 60!! Interceptions!! 60!! In surprised you didn't talk about the defenders catch up pace, it's way too much and annoying, my blues curler salah can't even out run saliba it's a disgrace, the player freezing has become worse, the passing accuracy is Nonsense,potw odegard with 97 passing can't even make a simple through pass, now we wait till the next gameplay update which is when? I am waiting for EA FC to arrive on the PS Plus. No hope from efootball anymore. Further more, the collision issues on this game is horrendous. Players feet pass against each other, ball passes through player's foot as if the player was a ghost
I'm with you bro, put a lot of money into this game since launch being a old school Pes vet. Being a Master League player i have enjoyed online but like you say this last patch is terrible and I have a pay to win squad it's just not enjoyable anymore. I can beat top 500 players but get beat by Div 3 players with half a gp team. Let's hope Konami are watching 🙏
If you're playing the game, you're part I'd the problem. Pes 21 ML with option file still a fantastic game. Everyone ust be satisfied with that for 12 months and Konami would rethink.
Only point I disagree with is at 6:20 If you remember how pes 18 was played it was just long ball spam up to Aubameyang, and it wasnt effective because through balls were OP, it was because when your player would intercept the striker would be ready straight away to take it off of them. If you want a game where through ball spamming isn't overpowered, we dont want this changed
I'm talking players using PA1 assist and through balling from their 6 yard box, facing their own goal... to their striker who is through on goal. That needs nerfing.

On the defending side, one of the issues is the physical contact , konami needs to contact EA or UFL and ask how it is done on both games. I have mentioned this for years , basically anyone can body anyone . You have players like adriano been moved and pushed from players like pedri, or you have dembele body players like seedorf, Vieira or ronaldinho. This men were strong and were like mountains in their prime
Spoony you know I love your content. In 2019 after 10 years in fifa I went back to PES thanks to you and your videos. But there is one thing I have to disagree with you. A few weeks ago you spent money to get Adriano (if I’m not wrong). That’s the major issue with this game. People keep spending money on this trash. In almost 4 years of this efootball existence I spent 0€ and I’m proud of that. And a I have a good win ratio without spending money. So please Spoony and everybody reading this: DONT SPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME!! If every single player stops spending money on this joke they will have to change the company’s strategy and the gameplay. Firstly mate you shouldn’t tell grown men and women what to spend their money on. It’s their money and they can spend it on crack and hookers if they choose. Secondly if people don’t spend then this game ceases to exist and there is nothing to fix or play as I don’t mess with fifa as I’m sure many people here don’t either. Spend or don’t spend it’s a personal choice.

Well done Spoony. Giving them a kick up the arse. I rarely play this game anymore. I keep waiting expecting a massive root and stem rebuild every year, but it's just the same reiteration of the previous game. I swear we could make a better football game than this (just need a few great coders).
@@SpoonyPizzas We have all the software available. Cascadeur for animation, Houdini for procedural, UE5 for the game engine. How hard can it be to make a better game than this shit? I'm also including EA FC which is the most uncool game out there, but the kids don't realise this....... Yet.
Konami claims this game is a game of realism. However, when I defend in 4-1-4-1, the CDM cannot automatically move up/down to cover the central area between the backs and midfield. When I defend in 5-4-1 against some specific formation, the half-space should be quite non-penetratable, but it surprisingly is because the left/right centre-back is attracted to an opponent in front of him and posing no threat to him and gets dragged out of position. Moreover, when I play 4-4-2 diamond, I cannot defend in 4-4-2 diamond, but only in 4-4-2.
Im probably late with this but i've just realised that in training they have the full rostered leagues and many more International teams. It's relieved yet infuriated me at the same time as someone who likes to play offline and with friends.

I also had the feeling that something was awfully wrong with v3.5, I bought Alonso and started playing QC steroids as everyone else but matches just got more and more random with no clear explanation. Also, I think your positive remark was already kind of fixed in v3.4, so no positives whatsoever. I will certainly join the Friday boycott.

If play against d.1 team all the k.i will intercepted 99 percent of the passes. But for d.1 teams all the passes hit target. Just from box to box through pass and that's how they always score. No skills no nothing. Also you want just cross into the box the pass always goes to the wrong team mate. Don't know why the fu... Almost no chance to win with ball possession
All you said is true, i will also add extremely high price for extending contracts, also lack of gp rewards to re sign players. Also i blame streamers on twitch popular ones who are promoting pack opening and saying that gameplay is skilled issue
How the mighty have fallen, Konami games used to be almost guaranteed quality, I used to buy all PES, MGS and Silent Hill games day one. Its sad to see how they are now.
Shoulder charge has been broken for quite some time now and everyone is exploiting that online without a consequence. For a long time I've been saying that they need to remove shoulder charge from the game completely, or at least til they find a way to fix it in order to work as intended (at this point I seriously doubt they can actually fix it, as this requires refereeing and collision detection to get fixed as well, so best thing to do is remove it imo). As long as this exploit remains, this game will never become a real football game, it's more like a football themed fighting game.
I stopped playing 5 days ago. And I'll continue until the next update. I'm a top 200 player with F2P team but the boost that P2W cards got in this update is ridiculous.
Bro we’ve been complaining for 3/4 years and the games not changed significantly…. They don’t care man we know they pissed on us for profit! Our best hope is for a developer to find Seabass and build a new football IP
I havent played for ages, at this point we just need them to scrap this game and start again, the lack of literally any content and bad updates, there just not a good football game to play anymore
@@SpoonyPizzas but 3.4 is almost the same as 3.5. Now 3.3 on the other hand was quite smooth compared to both. Funnily enough, last year they made the gameplay worse with 2.4 and didn't really fix it until 3.0.
i absolutely agree on all the points you made. i honestly have no idea how you can suddenly mess everything up so bad. another little thing i noticed was that they've nerfed the hell out of curled shots. before the update my neymar (90 finishing, 86 curl, 82 power) when he was in a good position for a curl shot, he'd score it 7/10 times. now, he misses it 9/10 times😂 so don't even think about a curled shot if you don't have a superplayer. now I'd say it's a good thing if i thought my players are nerfed for the game to be more balanced. but no, i know they only do it so the p2w players are even more op, therefore your'e more encouraged to pay for coins. konami will sacrifice anything for money. with fifa coming to ps plus next week, i think I'm gonna completely put efootball down for a while. at least until they get their sh*t together.
Do something with kick and Rush tactics and ridiculuos formations. Most players just kick the ball to your side and then hope they gonna ovepower your team

I posted about many of these issues on reddit, such as the player's freeze, and users on reddit were commenting that they never experienced this, and the game is fine and we need to stop the hate! I genuinely don't know what to say about this game anymore! It's 2025 almost, and we have a football game like this? I really still don't understand how people are spending so much money on this game? I see streamers like eFootball Universe spending more than 100 pounds in every video, and players on reddit posting that they spent 400 pounds and more to unlock a different version of Messi, without feeling any type of guilt or numbness! I know that this is a hobby, but how irresponsible you have to be do this? I will gladly spend money on a game when I know that this is my hobby and that the company is striving to make it better, and that the company is respecting my time in the game and respecting my user experience. But when a game is just overwhelmed by corporate greed, spending money on it just feels so wrong!
Thank you Spoony, this video is a perfect collection and description of the "cancer" that exists in eFootball. The fact that things like player freezes are still in the game 2.5 years after the release of eFootball 2022 is as shocking as it is devastating, and shows what KONAMI has become. There have been versions with bad gameplay, but this version 3.5, as terrible as you describe it, really feels like a mashup of all the worst features/bugs in one version. I cannot understand what KONAMI's goal is with this version. It rewards players with no skill as much as possible and punishes players with much skill. I could write something about every single point you made, which proves how insanely awful the gameplay is and that basically everyone experiences it and can see/notice it if they pay enough attention. Remember my comment on your last video that ended with "..."? I can't say much yet, but if you'd like to see some of the interesting things I've found out in the last 2 years of reverse engineering, I'd be happy to show you (not publicly, that's for you alone, Spoony), at least for now. By the way, I've stopped working on all my eFootball projects for now (except for the FPS Limit and VSync Patcher for a while already), but if you'd like to try out the UCL Scoreboard, just ask, I'd be happy to let you experience it very early on. I can't promise anything about the scoreboard as I haven't updated it and it won't work until I do, but I could have a look at it and see what needs to be done to get it working again.

I have been Boycotting the game for months now. That's what needs to happen. Let's start with this one day. But let's not stop in the future. Let's keep boycotting the game until we get a solid reply.
I think my best decision is to uninstall eFootball since 3.4.0 and still not going back till now. Because as single player, I think Konami don't give any reason to play eFootball. I don't ask about Master League, just a proper single player content where we can change all game setting like we want.
Best way is not to boycott. Best way is for everyone to write negative reviews and/or send support tickets. Boycotting does nothing. Leave a negative Steam/PS Store/Xbox Store/ Apple Store/ Google Store review. And write what's wrong with the game. It would also help a lot if you tried to at least give them the benefit of a doubt: The way why tackles from behind are so easy is because they changed the parameters how much physical contact you need to withstand them. Everyone was just playing quick, speedy players. Konami tried to make Big strong players better by making physical contact more important for attackers. Try old Ibra, Adriano, Haaland, Koller, etc. and they will not react to tackles from behind. The fist touch was already nerfed from v3.0 to v3.1. There is a reddit thread of someone who can still play v3.0 offline and he made comparison videos. Dribbling, first touch, etc. all changed for the worse when v3.1 dropped. I agree with everything though!
The new Damn thing of Konami is the new Dynamic Balance of the Game. If you lead the game makes your Ai weaker and your Opponent's Ai stronger. To make it possible for the weaker player. The problem is that it doesn't work well. As soon as my opponent's Ai-Players become suddenly much better like Beasts everywhere on the pitch and make very very good Intercepts and amazing passes, the kickingpower of all my players become very weak even the new subs, a collision often occurs between my defenders and my goalkeeper or just between my defenders and the ball goes to the opponent's striker in front of the empty goal. It happened to me twice when passing the ball from the defender to the goalkeeper that the ball teleported through the goalkeeper and entered the net. It has happened to me many times that the goalkeeper takes a goal kick in strange directions. It feels like input lag, but it's just that my players is getting limited at some point after I take the lead even the new subs. All this happens continuously just since the last update when I am ahead of the score. Quite the opposite happens, when the opponent is much better than me Div 1 Rank 300 or better after he scores one or two goals suddenly all my players stand in the right place and their reactions become excellent, they make dream passes even from my Dmf Rijkaard to my CF Romario without being intercepted. And my opponent becomes Noob and can't make 2 right passes. I don't say this because i am losing matches no i am in div1 and i am winning but this is killing the joy of the game. I don't know if this is called script or something else, but please don't say the game is working fine.
Yeah I call it catch-up mechanic - this is to ensure there's close games. Else if a bad player gets thrashed 5-0/10-0... then they're likely to never play the game again but if they nick a win against a good player, they'll be more likely to stay and buy coins

there is a feature in fifa where the defender runs towards you and makes a sliding tackle so close to you that the animation of his player sliding is not displayed, of course taking the ball with a foul, but just only your player is on the ground, the defender won the ball and is still standing obviously running away with the ball leaving you rolling on the floor, you can verif this but dodging everytime the defender and then you will see the animation of the sliding tackle, easy way to break attackers and get the ball because it s never punished by the referee, well it s exactly the same in e football, i thought this game would be better but is just fifa again.
💯 back you spoony. I used to buy this game every year. Cannot play this mess. I was really looking forward to a next gen pes. So disappointed and miss master league. I stopped playing this a year or so ago. Loyal fans were screwed over and now a game that has no incentive to play it. Couldnt care about online which is a different game to offline. Gone are the days of pes tournaments with a trophy with my friends at college and when we got jobs we stoll met up for tournaments local on the on tv. Awesome. Cant believe this game is gone.

There was another version 4 months ago tht was fun but then they updated it and messed it up.now it's actualy fun n balanced.only gripe I have is tve ref not calling fouls enough.game now feels fair and balanced. I'm 8 days late to when you put this video out but man, You've done a great job compiling all the faults thats been bugging me for a while, The gameplay's been gradually getting worst bit by bit until we have this garbage of a game, I'm no longer going to be putting money into it cos its just a repeat of the same old crap like last year, Its too frustrating. Ive noticed there's alot of high rank players using none epics of late and i don't know if its me but their players seem way more responsive to my epics.

What I hate most about efootball is the same thing that I hate most about fifa - when you're facing a P2W team with cracked players it doesn't feel like your opponent's players are better, instead your players get nerfed to the ground and become completely inadequate and incapable. It's what I call the "reverse powercurve" mechanic. Messi with 90+ dribbling stats all the sudden takes 3 seconds to contain the ball and most defenders can't complete a single pass.
I thought I was tho only one experiencing this! I was going nuts and wanted to quit the game! My neighbors must’ve thought I was crazy for screaming when players didn’t even react or passed the ball in a direction I didn’t even point out to!

This is the current state of passing. I did some testing on AI beginner difficulty and switching between PA1, 2 and 3. After some 5-8 passes in your defensive line the game inserts a random crappy pass 90-180 degrees of direction. To create an opportunity for the other team.
Don't knew if you had this. My GK time and again not throwing ball wide to fullback but throwing it down the pitch. I thought it was me at first then it started happening 3 or 4 times every game!

Stopped playing FIFA and eFootball altogether about 2 years back because they're both awful. Online modes like Ultimate team (or Pay to win by it's real name) has ruined football games forever. The closest thing I can play to a football game now that doesn't get me angry is Rocket League. What a sad time it is for football video games. I remember thinking when PES 5 & 6 came out, imagine how amazing this is going to be in 15 - 20 years. Unfortunately I had no idea that developer greed was going to ruin it.

Totally agree with the fouls. AI never give away free kicks, but almost every tackle on them and they get a free kick. And the amount of times they block shots and passes is ridiculous, even when they are on lower levels.

Completely agree with the ridiculous defending buff segment of the rant. It’s nearly impossible to switch the play, 90% of the time the defenders just lock on to the ball and get to it before the intended target. Sometimes I use the full power bar to switch the play and the ball still finds a way to lock onto the defender.

what i also wittnesed you did not mention it. the last couple of days I got absolutely butchered by basic teams. i could not pass, i could not dribble. And i'm a monster in dribbling. Defense was like eating potato chips for the opponent. they could stop every attack instantly. while i could not defend at all. Baresi for example my strongest defender. One stat is even over 100. But not only him, every defender they just refused to defend, weird positional awareness and if i followed the opponent with the defender he was not pressing at all, he was just barely touching him from behind. Like a little child who would play against a older stronger player.
while i was in a constant chase mode, every pass of the opponent went through, long lasting tiki taka in my half and the opponent defense was like a teflon pan. my goals were beautiful with my individual effort while the opponent scored every single goal with the help of the AI. I could not apply the same bias to him. i lost almost every match. What the hell is this? Thats what i call scripting.
I mean its just sad. so many spend so much money and time for this franchise and they just dont care.
from my feeling they had to reboot the system to the beginning to upload whatever is coming but the whole things coding is just a mess in my opinion.

I feel you. I'm noticing the exact samething. I'm getting beat by guys I normally beat 5, 6 to 1 that are level 4-7. My team can't do anything and you can tell there is something sinister going on under the hood because very strange things are happening that totally favor my opponent.
I had my 102 rated keeper with form arrow up make an easy dive save where he didn't even have to stretch out somehow make the save then this weird glitch animation kicked in and the ball magically ricochets thru the keeper and into the net - the save had already been made then this delayed ricochet happens.
It's obvious to me that Konami is scripting games for lower level players to win so these people keep playing.
This is exactly my feelings. I went from 1200 ranking to 11,000 in the space of one week. Lost over 15 matches by conceding silly goals and mistakes. My players can't make a decent run
@@The_pes_boy1 currently the gameplay is acceptable in my opinion but there is still a lot of room for improvements. i experienced good connection when i close the wifi on my router and only connect my ps4 with cable. But sadly i think that ef25 will be the same game. The vast majority has to adapt to this gameplay and lack of content because of the professional efootball players... i have a feeling that Konami only accepts their feedback and cuts the game for their needs. professionals dont give a damn about offline content and good mechanics. they only want to engram the current mechanics into their reflex profile in order to win games. And i kind of think that konami has special agreements with professional teams to buy epic cards.
Also on lobbed through balls, the players always stops for and restarts his run and just ruins my occasion
AI defending is too strong. You don't even have to press the tackle button and the defender will still automatically do the challenge. Only think that works is through balls when the defender suddenly stops to let the ball through. That's why 99% people play quick counter PA1 ping pong and nobody tries to dribble or build up play anymore. They need to balance the playstyles

I am repeating myself. Everything went wrong after they changed their direction and through away 0.9.1. Since 1.0 we are back to pes, modified Pes with no content. I don't play this game for 6 months. I was there even in 0.9.0. When I watch clips, some live content I still don't feel like playing it again. Too bad, to sad...

Version 1.0 is when this assisted defending got introduced. All went downhill from there because noobs complained that defending was too hard. Guess what, now we have a almost fully automated unresponsive mess

hy spoony, I was on vacation for 2 weeks and the day before yesterday, when I was back home, I played 2 games and then turned off the console. it's very frustrating, whenever I'm in the opponent's half, I am pushed away by an invisible wall. I understand that the game is based on interceptions, but not to this high extent. I'm not one to install and delete the game, In any case, I don't have high hopes that Konami will follow our wishes, since the opinions of old PES players no longer have any relevance in efootball. I thought i was the only one who felt that whenever i take the first touch, i always felt like the player was not in control in split second giving chance for opponents to tackle just in case.

Thought I was getting old and swearing more than I should when I play this game, now it's a relief that I'm not alone.
I've experienced numerous times when my player going through one on one, opponent made a sliding tackle, despite it's a blatant foul and it's a red card, somehow the player managed to stay on his feet and running towards goal, and suddenly the ref blew the whistle and showed a yellow card to opposition.
Manual cursor change is the worst experience I've ever had, at times it switched to the players that are not even on the screen. Even on the training.

One tip for Coinami, for player selection!
They need to put controller buttons above the players head. So, when defending, put triangle, circle, square, and the X above the player's head, and by pressing a certain button, you get the player you want to select.

So you're always limited to only 4 choices? Don't think that works. I want to be able to pick any player at anytime when without the ball.
I've also noticed recently that when I'm playing higher ranked players, in general it allows me to play the game properly and I sort of have some control yet when I come up against players from lower ranks it's almost impossible to play. Whoever you play I feel end up being forced in to playing direct 'dirty' football as you can't trust the passing or dribbling
True on everything you just said. You can now see mainly no difference between a div1 player and a rookie. A top 500 player and a Div 3
Decent video. Forgot I mention far to many interceptions with people just blindly holding match up for the cpu to defend for them. Legs extra extending out of their body to intercept passes they should never get to.

1:27 Spoony, lot of the possession gamers were using that shielding technique to waste time and hold the ball.
Strikers could easily score goals by shielding and turning to space with that shielding technique. That's why konami nerfed it.
In my opninion Konami did the right thing. It was so frustrating when someone cover the ball like that and starts wasting time and we cannot do anything about it.
Spoony Possession game with that shielding might be annoying for some users that's why konami made some changes now, people like me was spamming that shielding all day.

If the script kicks in, there's nothing you can do to prevent the cpu from taking shot or scoring goals. This happens on superstar and legend difficulty

But the worst are the passes - I have a technical player - MESSI, MARADON, RONALDINHO and I just - tap a little on the record, the opponent is 4 meters away but the player takes a step before kicking it ,considers where to kick it, stretches his leg and, and, he doesn't have the ball anymore because the opponent who was far from my player already ran and took the ball from me, even though I just hit the recording and that player should have sent it in an instant, so maybe makes coffee :o)) DISGUSTING ....TRASH!

What amazes me is how some people still play this game - not that I blame anyone for playing what they like. As a result I haven't watched Spoonys videos in a long time because of his focus on this era of pes. I am happy with the PC mods that keep getting better on PES 21.

Spoony, this thing happens only in top divisions in division online matches, it's the extreme DGAS(dynamic gameplay adjustment system) or scripting that causes the bad responsiveness.
Yeah Tackling from Behind has become common in V3.5 but they reduced the intensity of direct tackling, but Konami will change things in the next update. They tweak the things in all updates, we have to learn and adapt to those changes, that's what makes it challenging.
And the New Manager Pep is better than Xabi alonso in all ways. I am using 4231 with 3 amfs and having more than 65% of possession in all matches, it's enjoyable even though the win rate is medium. Pep's defending and player movements are superb.
Same bro, having a lot of success against QC players with Pep. Besides their stamina towards the end of halves is so depleted it's a good time to strike if the game is close!
@@SpoonyPizzas stamina depletion is less in possession game compared to counter attacking. Besides people will stop too much pressing and dashing to conserve the stamina. You can walk and play in possession game, that's another thing i enjoy. I don't use wingers in possession game, 3 amfs, 1 cmf, 1 dmf.
Classic no.10 players got huge advantage in terms of stamina. Their stamina will never deplete.
I also tried switching to pep thinking my style of play wasn't cutting it anymore had a lil run of success but it's the same more glaring problem of slow dodgy first touch to be then sped into by the opposition,interceptions, etc

Interesting on defending. One reflection though is I think this is the first time that defenders are given the benefit rather than attackers which is interesting - FIFA and Efootball both just supercharge attacking play so in a weird way it's refreshing to see defenders can win and outmuscle people
It's not even that...defending can be outrageous for one side...then the other side ...you will get the defenders just can't intercept the ball...the momentum changes...and you are forced to play with all your mind because one slight touch and you can get scored by ping pong 424 . To the point that strikers are even playing defense

Nah dude not at the expense of the AI making tackles and positioning players for you. There has to be a skill gap involved in attacking and defending. The problem is before V1.0 all the noobs were crying about how ‘hard’ defending is so Konami said oh well just take care of that for you and have subsequently ruined the entire thing.

@DM-pv8ib that's the thing...when you play defense...the ai is making you not to play defense...thats the script...it pushes you away like a force field...thats called the script...the script when your holding matchup makes your player glide or move to the wrong direction instead of you having full control of your defenders...and if the script is on your side...the game will push it in the right places...meanwhile when it's not on your side...you players make the most dumbest runs...they move left when you are trying to move to block the shot....it's like your players are on rails...
People complained about defense ...but they asked for matchup and block to actually work...and interceptions....but instead of bringing it back to the old gameplay because I felt interception used to work pretty well last September 2023...they gave us automation...like its almost like they are trying to mock us by giving us what we want but also making sure we are triggered..
Most of the player base especially consoles are asking for more manual...we want pa1 and 2 removed...they didn't listen to that...they just do what they want or aren't interested so they dump any type of patches ..without even testing it...i play mobile....and I can feel when I have more control over my player...so they know how to implement this...but they don't want to implement it...players complained about defense...and they made it automated...who said we needed automation...we wanted to control the player and actually intercept the ball if we are in the right place...they decided to automated it...felt it will make it easier for also noobs. 100% they listen to complaints but they also mock us
Spoony you are a great voice for us ex pes gamers after a decent football game and I agree with everything you said and hope konami see this video I have to say I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention the main reason I can't play and that is the game speed it is horrible far too fast for me that is the main thing needed to change for me to play. Thanks for putting your voice to them and let's hope for a good update in the future
The gameplay is at its lowest, it's absolutely abysmal. I completely agree with all the points above, apart from maybe "making it more p2w", because no matter how you look at it, epic/legend/booster shiny cards suffer from the exact same issues that any other cards. And when you face a squad that is 10-20 overall points lower, your 103-rated players just turn to mush a lot of the time. There are definitely some balancing mechanics behind the scenes.
Regarding the boycott, it won't hurt to try, but imo the only thing that Konami would notice is if the majority of the player base stopped buying coins and spinning the boxes, but that's completely unrealistic to organize. I'm not even sure they keep an eye on the content creators for this game, there's zero communication with the community. The complaints are just piling up on every platform and there's no evidence they are even aware. Even some quality of life things that people complain about for months aren't being implemented. The game is severely mismanaged.

I'm with you bro, put a lot of money into this game since launch being a old school Pes vet. Being a Master League player i have enjoyed online but like you say this last patch is terrible and I have a pay to win squad it's just not enjoyable anymore. I can beat top 500 players but get beat by Div 3 players with half a gp team. Let's hope Konami are watching 🙏

Only point I disagree with is at 6:20 If you remember how pes 18 was played it was just long ball spam up to Aubameyang, and it wasnt effective because through balls were OP, it was because when your player would intercept the striker would be ready straight away to take it off of them.
If you want a game where through ball spamming isn't overpowered, we dont want this changed

On the defending side, one of the issues is the physical contact , konami needs to contact EA or UFL and ask how it is done on both games. I have mentioned this for years , basically anyone can body anyone . You have players like adriano been moved and pushed from players like pedri, or you have dembele body players like seedorf, Vieira or ronaldinho. This men were strong and were like mountains in their prime

Konami claims this game is a game of realism. However, when I defend in 4-1-4-1, the CDM cannot automatically move up/down to cover the central area between the backs and midfield. When I defend in 5-4-1 against some specific formation, the half-space should be quite non-penetratable, but it surprisingly is because the left/right centre-back is attracted to an opponent in front of him and posing no threat to him and gets dragged out of position. Moreover, when I play 4-4-2 diamond, I cannot defend in 4-4-2 diamond, but only in 4-4-2.
Im probably late with this but i've just realised that in training they have the full rostered leagues and many more International teams. It's relieved yet infuriated me at the same time as someone who likes to play offline and with friends.

I also had the feeling that something was awfully wrong with v3.5, I bought Alonso and started playing QC steroids as everyone else but matches just got more and more random with no clear explanation. Also, I think your positive remark was already kind of fixed in v3.4, so no positives whatsoever. I will certainly join the Friday boycott.

How the mighty have fallen, Konami games used to be almost guaranteed quality, I used to buy all PES, MGS and Silent Hill games day one. Its sad to see how they are now.
Shoulder charge has been broken for quite some time now and everyone is exploiting that online without a consequence. For a long time I've been saying that they need to remove shoulder charge from the game completely, or at least til they find a way to fix it in order to work as intended (at this point I seriously doubt they can actually fix it, as this requires refereeing and collision detection to get fixed as well, so best thing to do is remove it imo). As long as this exploit remains, this game will never become a real football game, it's more like a football themed fighting game.
It was fine in 3.3 and 3.4. Couldn't barge into the back. You could use super cancel but nowhere near as effective as this.
I stopped playing 5 days ago. And I'll continue until the next update. I'm a top 200 player with F2P team but the boost that P2W cards got in this update is ridiculous.

@@SpoonyPizzas but 3.4 is almost the same as 3.5. Now 3.3 on the other hand was quite smooth compared to both. Funnily enough, last year they made the gameplay worse with 2.4 and didn't really fix it until 3.0.

i absolutely agree on all the points you made. i honestly have no idea how you can suddenly mess everything up so bad.
another little thing i noticed was that they've nerfed the hell out of curled shots. before the update my neymar (90 finishing, 86 curl, 82 power) when he was in a good position for a curl shot, he'd score it 7/10 times. now, he misses it 9/10 times😂
so don't even think about a curled shot if you don't have a superplayer.
now I'd say it's a good thing if i thought my players are nerfed for the game to be more balanced. but no, i know they only do it so the p2w players are even more op, therefore your'e more encouraged to pay for coins. konami will sacrifice anything for money.

I posted about many of these issues on reddit, such as the player's freeze, and users on reddit were commenting that they never experienced this, and the game is fine and we need to stop the hate! I genuinely don't know what to say about this game anymore! It's 2025 almost, and we have a football game like this? I really still don't understand how people are spending so much money on this game? I see streamers like eFootball Universe spending more than 100 pounds in every video, and players on reddit posting that they spent 400 pounds and more to unlock a different version of Messi, without feeling any type of guilt or numbness! I know that this is a hobby, but how irresponsible you have to be do this? I will gladly spend money on a game when I know that this is my hobby and that the company is striving to make it better, and that the company is respecting my time in the game and respecting my user experience. But when a game is just overwhelmed by corporate greed, spending money on it just feels so wrong!

The fact that things like player freezes are still in the game 2.5 years after the release of eFootball 2022 is as shocking as it is devastating, and shows what KONAMI has become.
There have been versions with bad gameplay, but this version 3.5, as terrible as you describe it, really feels like a mashup of all the worst features/bugs in one version.
I cannot understand what KONAMI's goal is with this version. It rewards players with no skill as much as possible and punishes players with much skill.
I could write something about every single point you made, which proves how insanely awful the gameplay is and that basically everyone experiences it and can see/notice it if they pay enough attention.

By the way, I've stopped working on all my eFootball projects for now (except for the FPS Limit and VSync Patcher for a while already), but if you'd like to try out the UCL Scoreboard, just ask, I'd be happy to let you experience it very early on. I can't promise anything about the scoreboard as I haven't updated it and it won't work until I do, but I could have a look at it and see what needs to be done to get it working again.

I think my best decision is to uninstall eFootball since 3.4.0 and still not going back till now.
Because as single player, I think Konami don't give any reason to play eFootball. I don't ask about Master League, just a proper single player content where we can change all game setting like we want.
Best way is not to boycott. Best way is for everyone to write negative reviews and/or send support tickets. Boycotting does nothing. Leave a negative Steam/PS Store/Xbox Store/ Apple Store/ Google Store review. And write what's wrong with the game.
It would also help a lot if you tried to at least give them the benefit of a doubt: The way why tackles from behind are so easy is because they changed the parameters how much physical contact you need to withstand them. Everyone was just playing quick, speedy players. Konami tried to make Big strong players better by making physical contact more important for attackers. Try old Ibra, Adriano, Haaland, Koller, etc. and they will not react to tackles from behind.
The fist touch was already nerfed from v3.0 to v3.1. There is a reddit thread of someone who can still play v3.0 offline and he made comparison videos. Dribbling, first touch, etc. all changed for the worse when v3.1 dropped.

The new Damn thing of Konami is the new Dynamic Balance of the Game. If you lead the game makes your Ai weaker and your Opponent's Ai stronger. To make it possible for the weaker player. The problem is that it doesn't work well. As soon as my opponent's Ai-Players become suddenly much better like Beasts everywhere on the pitch and make very very good Intercepts and amazing passes, the kickingpower of all my players become very weak even the new subs, a collision often occurs between my defenders and my goalkeeper or just between my defenders and the ball goes to the opponent's striker in front of the empty goal. It happened to me twice when passing the ball from the defender to the goalkeeper that the ball teleported through the goalkeeper and entered the net. It has happened to me many times that the goalkeeper takes a goal kick in strange directions.
It feels like input lag, but it's just that my players is getting limited at some point after I take the lead even the new subs.
All this happens continuously just since the last update when I am ahead of the score.
Quite the opposite happens, when the opponent is much better than me Div 1 Rank 300 or better after he scores one or two goals suddenly all my players stand in the right place and their reactions become excellent, they make dream passes even from my Dmf Rijkaard to my CF Romario without being intercepted. And my opponent becomes Noob and can't make 2 right passes.
I don't say this because i am losing matches no i am in div1 and i am winning but this is killing the joy of the game.
I don't know if this is called script or something else, but please don't say the game is working fine.
Yeah I call it catch-up mechanic - this is to ensure there's close games. Else if a bad player gets thrashed 5-0/10-0... then they're likely to never play the game again but if they nick a win against a good player, they'll be more likely to stay and buy coins

In first Half i scored twice. From minute 60 the catch-up mechanic was noticeable. He won 3-2 .

there is a feature in fifa where the defender runs towards you and makes a sliding tackle so close to you that the animation of his player sliding is not displayed, of course taking the ball with a foul, but just only your player is on the ground, the defender won the ball and is still standing obviously running away with the ball leaving you rolling on the floor, you can verif this but dodging everytime the defender and then you will see the animation of the sliding tackle, easy way to break attackers and get the ball because it s never punished by the referee, well it s exactly the same in e football, i thought this game would be better but is just fifa again.
💯 back you spoony. I used to buy this game every year. Cannot play this mess. I was really looking forward to a next gen pes. So disappointed and miss master league. I stopped playing this a year or so ago. Loyal fans were screwed over and now a game that has no incentive to play it. Couldnt care about online which is a different game to offline. Gone are the days of pes tournaments with a trophy with my friends at college and when we got jobs we stoll met up for tournaments local on the on tv. Awesome. Cant believe this game is gone.
