Showing a network topology plus the OSPF database made it simple to understand. Thank you Kevin for putting this video together.

Surprisingly I have been looking at these for a while and I just sat down and regurgitated LSA types 1-5 and found I know more than I thought, looking forward to your presentation with a little more understanding.

Kevin, I've watched many different videos on this topic which can be so confusing. Your video made this topic completely understandable, no disrespect to others, really well explained.

    Thanks Kevin, great video.
Question: why is there only one LSA type 2 in Area 0, What defines a transit network I guess I'm asking?
    Many thanks

I'm learning now for a Juniper certification, but for this vendor there aren't many videos on the topic, so I "take" from here everything I can :p

First Bravo, you explained Stub and Totally Stubby Areas in a way that just took all the confusion away.
Originally wrote: Well I must say you fixed the confusion I had with Type 3 LSA's, I did assume it was a single summarized address that allows the Other areas to reach any one of the networks in the desired destination area. So thanks for clearing that confusion up. It is clear as a bell after watching this and building your network and testing that network.

Hi Kevin, I really like your videos on youtube so far. I recently found your course on CCNA 200-301 on Udemy which is 17 hours in length. So, my question is, majority of other CCNA videos are around 35 hours mark, so how come your course is more than half in length. If you could clarify this, that would be great. If case is that the 17 hours of content is actually worth more than what it looks like, I am willing to take your course.

I can’t speak to the structure of other courses. However, our course covers all topics on the exam blueprint.

Hi Kevin, congratulations for the video, great explaination! I have only a couple of question, hope you can response.
1)If the other as is running OSPF instead of EIGRP/RIP is the same, isn't it?
    2) In the final example can area 0 be defined as totally stub zone?
    Thanks in advance!

kevin, what happen with the type 6 don't exit? why this jump to LSA 7 just curiosity

    • @kwallaceccie
      @kwallaceccie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Great question! Type 6 is used for multicasting, and OSPFv3 uses Types 8 and 9 for IPv6 routes. However, I wanted this video to focus on exam-relevant OSPFv2 LSA Types. I hope that helps and that you enjoy your studies!

hello, fun fact that I'm writing this comment after passing my faculty network exam and founding one mistake! i mean you learn the hard way😂
in nssa you said that type 7 lsa will be injected in area 0 with type 5 and 4, which is not correct, there is no need for type 4 in this area and it will not be sent in area 0 at all, only type 5

Someone needs to make it so you only need 2 lsa types to do this. 7 Lsas to accomplish this type of task seems out dated
