    Top job around that downlight! I'll make Toupret my go-to filler from now on. Thanks.

    Used toupret to fill in bathroom walls & ceiling after bathroom refit...stuff is like the rolls royce of fillers...applies silky smooth & sands like a dream.
    The dust is so fine i looked like i came out of a flour factory...but it is awesome.
    The bathroom fitter had filled in some patches with some other filler & it left places bumpy - not a good look for a new bathroom... I tried sanding it with a sponge pad but it was so hard i had to get the electric sander sand the old filler off & applied toupret. It came up an absolute dream...the ceiling patches became super flat.
    Painted over...it literally looks like a perfect ceiling.
    Applies grey ..but dries a nice clean matt white.
    I've painted over with an ivory & a matt white & the results are seriously stunning!

      Awesome 🙌 I'm looking to try their wood filler at some point, hopefully that's just as good

    Used it for a while now and it works well. I've started using their wood filler (again mix with water) and that also seems good.

      Cool, I haven't tried there wood filler as yet but good to know it seems decent

    It says drys in 3 hrs and it does unlike other quick dry brands that harden but not enough to sand. This stuff does it all, its hard, easy sand and qick dry. Pukka gear 👌

    Wish I'd known about this stuff before - I was reasonably happy with no nonsense fine finish but I always felt it didn't sand well and it was hard to get a really good finish (I have managed it but it involved a lot of work and some primer). Next room I redecorate I think I'll be giving this gear a go.

    Polyfilla fine surface proabbly the same as the Toupret fine surface version. I buy it from dulux trade centre, brilliant stuff. You can fill level with no fear of sagging

    Great video. I have had a new velux window like yours installed to replace a rotting velux. But along the bottom edge I have a gap where plaster had to be trimmed to accommodate a new frame. The gap is 12mm and probably 25mm deep . it then tapers to 5mm. Would this product work or should a use expanding foam first
    Thank you

      Yeah it'll work as there's no depth limit with it. I'd feel uneasy filling over expanding foam. For wall chases I'd use a back plaster for most of it then this stuff for the last bit but that means buying 2 different products so if it's just the bit you said then just use the toupret

    Looking good, gunna get me a tub of that! When are skirts and architrave going on? Interested to know if they will be sprayed too?

      Humm I suppose within the next couple of weeks. And yes, I'm going to attempt to spray them. Not with the airless though, I bought a pro hvlp 😬

    Can't go wrong with the toupret filler. It's the only one I use now. Never had issues with it and good trade paint will hide a multitude of sins!

    Toupret fillers are in general better than anything currently available in the uk

    Just had an electrician in the house for 3 days, loads of holes from chasing sockets, and moving light fixtures. You reckon this stuff or easyfill 60? Will it be possible to get it PERFECT so it isn’t visible after painting? Whole house needs painting anyway, just don’t want to see the patches after it’s been done

    • @THE-AIDEN-PROJECT
      @THE-AIDEN-PROJECT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I helped at my brother in laws house after a rewire and used undercoat plaster for the deep chasing/socket holes and then finished off with easyfill. The easyfill was OK but I was much more impressed with the toupret interior filler. So if I were to do it again I'd go undercoat plaster to build up the deep stuff then finish it with the toupret. You can most definitely get it perfect, use a good orbital sander with a vacuum attached 🙌

      @cwuzii 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT thanks for the reply mate! Yeah I’ll use some sort of undercoat, probably British gypsum’s thistle bonding 60, and then finish with Toupret, either regular or tx110. Did you pva the hole first? A few people have said to water down some pva and put it in the hole first…

    • @THE-AIDEN-PROJECT
      @THE-AIDEN-PROJECT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cwuzii I only use sbr if I have to, that's if its a little dusty and needs stabilising. I never touch pva. You need to be careful if you use either though and especially pva. Check out Phil Beckwith's last video on it @professionalpainterdecorator

    • @cwuzii

      @@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT I’d be using it under the filler though not under the paint, hopefully shouldn’t be any issues! Touch wood anyway! 🤞🏻

    No nonsense products are budget friendly products. They ok for insignificant repairs/work etc. it’s better in the long run to use superior quality products such as toupret. It’s more expensive I agree but it makes the difference of the overall finish of your project.

    I would probably have taped those joints in the ceiling, just in case of movement.

      @@markwilliams9793 I think it will be fine as it's in the middle of the sheet, I'd say any cracks would more likely happen on the edges even though they are scrim taped (just like they did on the dwarf wall 🙄)
