    Palmetto State Armory released their 15 round magazines for the dagger micro. These are directly compatible with 43X/48, some kind of polymer and metal hybrid. They sold out in minutes!

    I have a G48, black slide, non-mos. Runs flawlessly with glock magazines. Throw a shield arms mag and mag catch into the equation, gun turns into a door stop. After many range sessions, tinkering, hobbyist gunsmithing...etc, here's what I had to do to make these mags reliable...1. I had to take a pair of plyers, and bend a "feed ramp" into the front lip of the magazine, over where the bullets would pass over. This was to keep the lip of the shell casing from catching this sharp edge. If you look at glock magazines, they all have a little feed ramp made into the steel liner of the mag. 2. I noticed that the tolerance between my extractor and breach face seemed to be a bit tight. I took some 1000 grit sand paper and wet sanded the inside of my extractor lip to allow for more space for the lip of the shell casing to slide between the extractor and breach face. It also seemed like the glock factory extractor coating was a little thick so the sandpaper helped remove it. 3. Using some 1000+ grit sandpaper, I wet sanded the tip of the firing pin a bit to smooth out any sharp edges and to enhance the capacity of the angle that it comes with from the factory. It seemed that sometimes when the shells would get stuck, the firing pin was poking out of the breach face and was unable to go back in because of the pressure from the rim of the casing pushing on it. All of these things were done in an effort to make the process of the bullet being chambered a little easier on the gun, I've since run a couple hundred rounds through the gun with zero issues, which is a far cry from having multiple malfunctions with every magazine.

      @shootintheshtpodcast  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s the funny part. I couldn’t believe how unreliable they were until i polished the feed ramp. So I feel you on the tinkering with it. I am going to get a higher quality extractor. They apparently have better tolerances and more give

      I have no issues with my glock mags but the shield mags keep going to slide lock. I think modifying a perfectly good pistol to fit an aftermarket mag is a mistake.

    I purchased the 3 magazines from Shield Arms as part of a combo package which also included the magazines with a magazine catch and a release. All 3 magazines malfunctioned in my G43x MOS. Thankfully it was at the range and not in a self defense situation. They don’t have a customer friendly return policy. I will only run Glock magazines through my Glock going forward.

    I've had two failures to feed with my G48 with glock mags, unmodified except for red dot and different sights. Might have to try polishing my feed ramp, but it feels fine now. It was with Sig v crown hollow points. I think the G48/43x pistols are a little more sensitive to feeding issues, maybe due to spring weight vs slide mass? the two failures I had was when shooting at a longer distance and I may have been relaxing my grip just a little from the "crush grip" I like to use, don't know because I haven't been able to duplicate it when purposefully "limp wristing" the pistol. What I do know is I feel "well armed enough" when carrying with a factory mag in the pistol and a spare in my pocket.

    How does that make sence polished feed ramp and it only works with the 20 rounder think that it probably didn't have a lot to do with your mags always good to polish Ramp though I polished the whole entrance the palmetto mags are doing so hot and gen 3 sheilds since they switched manufacturers they arntbas good as the gen 2s ? Again I have 10 15 rounders and 2 20 rounders I've had know issues and I've shot at least 3 thousand rounds through them I did change them all to the max power springs .have a great one thanks for the update the amount of problems that people have had with these mags does make me nervous that one day I may have a malfunctions so I still carry my 19 when I can can't do a 19 in a t shirt though so 19 carry is right around corner when I carry my 43x or 48 I have a sheild armes mag in the gun and my backup is the ten rounder to insure that I will have more of a winning chance .

    well being they are now releasing a Gen 3 and went to a new manufacture they had issues they knew about. I will be getting a g43x mos and will be using the soon to be released Palmetto state mags which are partially polymer over molded in mag catch area so no need to swap out mag catch. The polymer over mold will also take up the slack that the shield arms mags need the spline on to take up the fore and aft space. Palmetto state is releasing their version of the 43x mos so that is why they will have a 15rd mag as their gun will come standard with it.

    Solid video. Folks get too invested into their acquisitions and make it their personality, so when they see data contradicting their own anecdotes they take it personally. "Mine are fine, therefore there's no possible way that someone else can have issues. They're liars! User error! Rheeeeeeeee!" It's like we don't want innovation and companies to succeed simply because we're reporting issues that occur. The internet be the internet, yo.
    My Gen 2s have gone back to warranty 3X now. SA CS eventually offered to replace with Gen 3s, which I have now. The dimples in the rear do seem to seat the mags more forward. I haven't fielded mine yet but I've already received reports from a few followers who have, and they've continued to experience failures to feed. I know that CMI is no longer the OEM for these, so that's already a plus one for SA. I'll need time behind these before deciding what to do with them.
    I am in the camp of I shouldn't have to modify my OEM to get products designed around OEM to work. Tolerance stacking is a thing but the design should've factored in all OEM tolerances and there shouldn't be such a high report of failure. Polishing the ramp is generally a good thing but at the same time you shouldn't have to get a self-defense based product to work. It's not like this is a race gat where you have to mate parts.

    • @bunnyoperator

      @@shootintheshtpodcast It is nice to have a distributor to act as a buffer. I went directly through SA for CS inquiries. I acquired my 6 Gen 2s and basepads from other retailers and directly through SA, so I was better off going through them for CS.
      Through the warranty exchanges the original sample size of 6 mags (2-flush, 4-extended) has now grown to a total sample size of 13-Gen 2s and 6-Gen 3s that have passed through my hands. With the exception of the Gen 3 mags, which are currently unfired, I have yet to have a complete set of S15s that would function 100%.
      The +5 extensions, +5 springs, mag catch, and magwell have all been present through the entire use, and were not exchanged by SA during warranty. Since they did not, I can assume that they inspected and confirmed those to be within spec.
      I will explain what happened through each iteration of mags in the final video later. I appreciate you for putting out objective data for the community, big homie.

    After 35 years and thousands of rounds through various Glock pistols, the Glock platform is my go-to defensive carry firearm. I love firearms of many types so not a "fanboy". But for serious purposes my experience has always brought me back to one Glosck or another over the years. NEVER had a mag related malfunction with stock Glock mags. I had high hopes for the S15 mags. On paper, they sound great after all. However, after a couple of mag related malfunctions with the S15 mags I'm a HARD no-go with them. And while the capacity advantage of the Shield mags looks awesome on paper, ANY decrease in reliability of my defensive firearms is unacceptable. I paid way too much for two S15 mags that are now just paperweights. Fine for range use, but who needs expensive mags for range use?? Good for stoppage clearance drills I suppose... I'd NEVER trust my life to ANY aftermarket Glock mag. Magazines are the heart of any semiautomatic firearm. Factory Glock mags are the most reliable I have ever used in any firearm in well over 45 years of shooting. In my experience, deviating from a proven design for unnecessary capacity considerations is just not worth it. There is a reason that Glock made the G48 with 10 rounds rather than 15... The tolerances and physics just aren't there in the 48 grip's dimensions for that capacity AND still provide 100% reliability. RELIABILITY is what Glock has been about for damn near 40 years... Change their designs at your own risk. In the real world, if you can't handle a situation with 10-11 rounds, do you really think 5 more will make a substantial difference? Are you willing to sacrifice the stock 100% reliability to gain the dubious advantages provided by the few additional rounds? Not me...

I use the Shield Arms aluminum magazine catch and own 8 Shield Arms magazines. 3 of the 8 magazines have consistent failures to feed. It happens multiple times per magazine.
