I just found you here on youtube and I think I remember you from like 10-15 years ago. A bunch of us artists would meetup on like Wednesdays and do these 5 minute speedpaint challenges where we'd paint something and then a couple folks would review them and share their thoughts. I think Cubebrush was there too. Does that sound familiar? I just remember you two because you drew up an AMAZING lion face for only 5 minutes of working on it, and Cubebrush told us about how he designed a doorknob for a Harry Potter movie lol.

I spent so much of my artistic development focusing on contours... Blind Contours, negative space, gesture drawings (which don't really leave time for anything other than contours)... this was really useful to hear. I mainly work on paper... ink pen and various pencil media, but even so; this kinda... jogged loose a few things I was stuck on.

It may sound stupid, but due to a short mentorship this year I focused so much on form studies and basic value studies that I have forgotten how to do textures, everything started looking so plain currently... so thank you for talking about this topic. :)
