Dead Alive was put out on dvd. It is one of my most cherished dvds as it is, as you said, very hard to get ahold of. I do still have my VHS of this from childhood as well. I am totally jealous of your br copy tho! Nice find.
I grabbed The Iron Claw, Dune Part One, Batman Beyond complete series steelbook, A Quiet Place two pack, Talk to Me, and MI:7 Part 1 all on blu ray last month and I have watched The Iron Claw 3 times since watching it at home. Absolutely one of the best of 2023
The Alien anthology set does have the original and special editions of each films and I'm very happy they kept the director's cut of Aliens on 4K. Hear your frustrations on waiting to get the extended edition when it comes to Blu-ray, put not only the theatrical cut but the alternate editions and features on the complete set on 4K and Blu-ray
I had a great month for my collection. Finally, finally FINALLY got Richard Stanley's Hardware and Dust Devil, Lord of Illusions, Martyrs, High Tension, Frontier(s) and Inside on bd. That was a pretty penny but they've been on my bucket list for years. Glad I got an all region player. Opens up so much good stuff.
If Primal Fear is your favorite courtroom drama, watch 12 Angry Men! It's probably the best courtroom drama ever made. For a B&W movie made in the 1950s, it holds up very well!

Conan the Barbarian is by far one of my favorite Arnold movies ever along with Terminator and T2. I really think you will like it much more than the Destroyer, as it's a hard R for the time while Destroyer is PG 13 at best if not PG. NOT TO MENTION A GREAT PERFORMANCE BY JAMES EARL JONES.

Yeah I didn’t think it was good as people were saying it was when I watched it in theatres but I brought the dvd of it and I think they edited it at the start with all the swearing in the movie in the first few scenes 😂 so hopefully I will enjoy it more when I watch the dvd again soon lol 😂
About Aliens and True Lies: I really do not appreciate what Cameron has done to his own movies. I haven’t received The Abyss yet; the other two I’ve watched. While the tinkering was very apparent in True Lies it doesn’t bother me that much. It looked freaky sometimes with those waxy faces but it did not disrupt the flow of the movie. With Aliens it was another story: I watched the new 4K disk back-to-back with the old blu-ray (Quadrology). And while I usually appreciate a slightly enhanced color palette, and the higher resolution, here Cameron has lost all sense of proportion IMHO: This isn’t the movie I loved anymore. The grain is mostly gone and so is all hint of filmic appearance and especially atmosphere. Cameron’s revisionary version looks absolutely clean and lifeless, the sets seem unrealistic and stagey, often cheap, and the colors seem to pop right out of a soap opera. I wouldn’t recommend people just to “ignore” this like you nonchalantly did. But maybe I really am “ultra-anal” in the end like you described film enthusiasts who take their love for movies somewhat seriously. Sorry, couldn’t keep that to myself.
Even though i loved it i am not buying When evil lurks for the same same reason you said about Iron claw. I refuse to buy things on blu ray then have the 4k drop 6 months later.

True Romance was definitely a stinker. The Last Boyscout and Beverly Hills Cop 2 are his only great movies. Though Crimson Tide is really good and is one of his best.

They have a dvd release of true lies but it is complete shit, it was not anamorphic which sucked because the picture was too small with the 2.35:1 aspect ratio, it looked like it was just transferred from VHS to DVD without restoration. Love your videos they are all straight forward and great.
