Thank you thank you thank you thank you! I just boosted a warrior to 90 and have no idea what the hell I'm doing. All of the old tanking guides aren't necessarily all that useful anymore after 6.0.
You might want to start an alt on level one and learn each skill and optimize to see what works. Then you can use your 90 better. Not nessesary, but there is a lot to learn in this game.

16:20 You say to use both, but aren't Commanding Shout and Battle Shout mutually exclusive? ie. Paladin Kings or Might? Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think you can only have one or the other (unless 2 warriors are in the group)
nunya bidness Ya, I didn't realize this until after making the guide. I just assumed you could use both - silly me. In that sense I suggest Commanding Shout all the time to guarantee you have more health, although it's best to check what buff you don't have up from other party members. Thanks for the correction!
Back in MoP a warrior can self heal as much as a druid or blood dk when under 30% hp, because of Second Wind. In WoD that ability is known as Blood Craze, which only Prot can have. It triggers depending on how high your multistrike is?
Try this: /script SetCVar ("cameraDistanceMaxFactor" ,1) /script SetCVar ("cameraDistancemax" ,50) This should cange your camera variable to be able to zoom out to the max possible. Let me know if that doesn't work!
Hello Salts, I wanted to reply on a few things in your guide. First off i talk in my opinion so its not that it are facts i just find other things useful about what i am about to say. Lets start with the '' Shield barrier on cd and shield block'' on situational moments like enrage / adds i disagree with this since u will get pounded all the time ! in your parry isnt as high as it used to be and u get hit alot i use SBL ON CD and make sure those charges are ticking. { 30% physical damage blocked } from physical attacks. The reason for this is if a boss hits u 100k u block 30% this is 30k u only get hitted for 70k charge 35 rage > shield slam 20 rage > revenge 20 rage > SBL > SBL > Shield barrier Why do i do this it makes sure i get a SBL up in about 1 second meaning ur migitation is active. Also when i know there is magic damage incoming i DONT use SBL since its not blocking spells I use Shield barrier instead with a combination of demoralizing shout or Wall. Shield wall should be used when u tank the boss for a long period of time and ur SBL is on chargeCD Demoralizing shout can be used in combination with other defensives 1 min cd isnt much ! I am aware this is a guide most likely in MOP as i said before this is my opinion and hope to hear from you and what u think of my theory ! Good guide for beginners !
No, after trying out dungeons and raids I 100% agree with you. I think Shield Barrier works fine in dungeons, but at higher levels you really should be keeping Shield Block up as often as possible with Shield Barrier being the "extra rage dump". It is a guide intended for newer tanks and Shield Barrier is pretty effective by itself until you get into some heroics, so I don't plan on changing the guide. Still, you are right and Shield Block is much higher priority at higher levels of play.
hmmm, choosing a talent and think its best just because it has a longer cooldown? kinda disagree there. Like heavy repercussions lets say. Sudden death gives more dps cause you wont be able to always use shield block to increase shield slam damage and shield block also has a cooldown. And shockwave is much more effective in AOE cause we're tanks and its our job to control the situation with cc. And in single target like bosses, stormbolt gives more dps since it has 30sec cd and does quadrple damage to target immune to stuns. And yeah i agree with you with avatar since it has 1.5min cd this patch
Death Knight My only reasoning for this was my limited play testing - I did research and played at lev 90 before the expansion hit and provided the information. The idea was to give a general idea of how to tank and what abilities to use, so I don't think all my talent choices are the optimal choices.
hmm aren't you focusing on damage a bit too much? I mean it's a tanking guide, why would you choose a talent that gives you the best damage when in a dungeon there's gonna be a shitton of mages and hunters behind you dealing the deeps
If you're talking about Dragon Roar, then yes Shockwave is a better choice now that I've tried them out. If you're talking about stat priority, I have no idea - I think my stats are quite a bit off from what we actually need now.

Glyph of Resonating Power INCREASES the cooldown not reduces it.
