    Thank you for the video! Just had a couple questions. When you filled out the form for CAAT. One question I had is for purpose for flying did you check the first box for " Recreation and Sports"? (Photography, filming or TV program would also check automatically. I wasn't sure if I should check those two or the last choice was "Other" and put "personal hobby" I just didn't want it to get voided due to checking the wrong box. The 2nd question was wondering which box you checked under the "Insurance type" if it was Identified controller or unidentified controller? Wasn't sure what that meant as an extra window popped up under Identified Controller, more info was requested (Detail Identified Controller). Thank you so much

    • @wattstraveling
      @wattstraveling  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Raymond,
      It's been a long time since I filled out the forms but I believe I did choose the Recreation and Sports check box and the unidentified controller option. The certification that they send when approved is all in Thai so I can't really verify 100%.
      Hope that helps,

    Hi , I had no issues flying my drone (mini) in Thailand during my last stay but I want to avoid any possible problems even having my EU drone licence. I am usually staying there for 3 weeks , so it make not very much possible to do all papers in such a time. I heard that if you buy the new drone at the shop in Thailand (lets say MBK Bangkok) they can also sort out all this for you with almost immediate effect ...is that so ? I am going to get new device anyway , so perhaps this could be a solution ? Thanks for your video . Rgds

    Thanks for your informative video. I still have a few questions. 1. Is there any time limit for anyone who brings a drone and wants registration to Thailand ? I found an insurance agency and they said "You must register with NBTC within 30 days of arriving in Thailand. Possession of an unregistered drone for longer than 30 days is against the regulations, and we cannot help with your registration if it is beyond the 30 day cut-off." For me, I flew to Bangkok from another country on September 9 of this year. I asked a logistics company to help me send all my luggage and drone to Bangkok, and the actual pickup date is September 20th. How can I count the actual entry date of the drone? 2. Presumably, having avoided crowds, airports, resorts, and any other listed places and without registration, can I just fly a drone for a corporate shoot in Bangkok's suburban areas to capture a few shots within 15 minutes? Will it be very risky or be noticed within such a short time? Thank you!

    • @wattstraveling
      @wattstraveling  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I honestly don't know about the 30 days the insurance company is talking about so I can't answer to that. I will say that your registration will only be good for the length of your visa.... we stayed for 9months (on an STV ) visa, which is no longer, but it was a 3 month visa we could renew twice, so every 3 months we had to register again with NBTC. Honestly, Thailand is pretty relaxed, just follow the rules and you'll be good 👍

    • @wattstraveling

      Your tm6 is your department card, it's the other half of your arrival card. You'll have a tm6 when you arrive in Thailand. And the and of the day you cannot fly anywhere in Thailand. Not in cities and villages not in national parks, not in beaches. To be 100% accurate, there’s hardly anywhere in Bangkok that you can legally fly your drone, even after insurance and registration. I just went through all of this and I’m in Bangkok now. Only Flying in southern Thailand around the islands and often still have to get permission from the national parks. Hi Photomenika! Nope, but it's a risk we weren't willing to take. I'm sure many people fly that don't have one, and that is up to them 👍thanks for the question.

    So basically it’s impossible to fly a drone if you are only staying a couple of weeks in Thailand. The process takes longer than that.

      Thank you for the tip! I'll try to be more aware of the sunglasses, but my eyes are super sensitive to sunlight! I'll try! Thank you for watching ❤️

    This is a confusing video. It's titled "What you need to fly a drone in Bangkok", but as you mention at the end, it's illegal to fly over cities. You can't fly a drone in Bangkok because it's a city. And those shots at the beginning, assuming they're drone shots, are clearly over a city and are therefore illegal.

      Hi Gerald, I know and I agree.... the rules of flying your drone in Thailand are very confusing and contradictory in many ways. Drone as safely as you can and always get permission when you can. 👍

    Drone insurance is BS..
    You have to leave the country every 3 months. If your retired you can ask for retired visa and stay longer I wouldn't trust anything you say.

      I haven't met a person who likes to pay surance for anything and it's definitely your choice if you want to purchase drone insurance or not. We did and needed our drone repaired and it was covered, so it was worth it to us. To renew your drone insurance is much simpler and leaving the country isn't necessary. I appreciate that everyone has opinions.
