    Bought a 82 virago 750 off a guy that worked on it all he cared to an he took it to a shop they couldn’t fix it. It wasn’t running on the rear cylinder. They built carbs changed coils new petcocks all sorts of stuff. I spent about a week with it and turned out the factory tach had grounded out an was like holding kill switch on for only the rear. Unhooked it an ran like a champ... blew my mind!

      It does better than shorts.... Ive been in many motorcycle accidents with just jeans on. The part that makes impact with out ground initially is what gets the brute of it. The rest is just a buffer/sliding protecting.
      Riding pants have THICK armor in them. With will protect you better than jeans.

    Hey buddy, beautiful bike!
    I have the similar speedometer/tachometer on my gsx1100, and the best setup for the tachometer, is if you filter the voltage from the coil with a capacitor and branch of a ground with a resistor, between the capacitor and tachometer. Works like a charm on my bike.

    Pgh Native here! I enjoy your videos Gold Guy, might see you on the road someday! I've got a 1978 Yamaha DT 125 E with a dim headlight at idle. This is a design problem. The bike runs about half of its electrical on AC power and at idle it only produces 4 Volts AC for its 6 Volt system. The service manual tells me I should produce 5.5 Volts AC or above at 3,000 RPMS. I produce 6.5 Volts AC at 3,000 RPMS so I have a healthy Magneto and coil. I added a "Ground Strap" to the spark plug coil wire in hopes of adding a volt or two to my AC circuit but that did not help even though it increased my spark intensity quite a bit (Gold Guy, a ground strap on all 4 of your cafe racer spark plug wires could increase your spark intensity enough where you may possibly be able to run your speed/tachometer and all four cylinders). I've purchased a specialty voltage regulator to regulate my AC voltage over 6.5 volts to keep me from blowing my lights but that doesn't solve my dimming lights. I haven't found any helpful information on this DT issue. Anyone out there able to solve this problem? I'd prefer not to have to convert to a 12 volt system or run LEDS. If anyone could help keep me from having to idle at 2,000 RPMS at night to keep my headlight from noticeably dimming I'd really appreciate it. Running this without a solution might get me in trouble but hey it runs just like it did straight from the factory.

    Your bike content gets consistently higher viewer numbers than your car content, seems like you need to focus on one or the other, don't think bike fellas are into the car stuff. You've already built up a following for the bike projects, looks like viewers like your presenting style, your production is very good and you've got mechanical ability. A lot of TH-camrs have little or no mechanical ability so they concentrate on motovlogs which are pretty boring after a while, some of the bigger ones like Chase on Two Wheels and Shadetree Surgeon see motovlogs are running out of road and they are trying to do projects but they are lacking in mechanical ability.

    So was it just three that was running cold or was 2 running cold as well
    cuz I'm having a problem where my number 3 is running cold but my number 2 is running hot and it's not the carbs and just like you I have spark and fuel and combustion

    • @GoldGuyRides
      @GoldGuyRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well cb750s firing diagram is like the outer two cylinders fire and then the inner two so there are only two pulse generators. Both my inner two cylinders were running cold because they didn't have enough spark. I would check the sparkplug and always check for vacuum leaks

      1/4, 2/3,
      But in this video and the seafoam at Walmart video you said 3 was cold (not as hot)
      Wich is the problem I'm having
      I've rebuilt the carbs pulled a checked 4x now, swapped plugs,wires, and changed the coil wiring to fire on opposite coil(1/2 coil became 3/4 and vise/versa)
      Still 3 runs cooler than the others
