phenomenal playing! This bass seems very "spiritually" similar to my G&L L-1000, which is the most incredible passive bass I own in terms of huge tone, build quality, and VERSATILITY!
I'm picking between this, the Sire U5 and the Gretsch Junior Jet II. I just want a good versatile bass for me, a drummer/multi-instrumentalist to get a good start on. What should I get??? I'm confused and overwhelmed. :/
Great demo, I saw your demo of the Sterling Short Scale too, which one would you pick in terms of playability and sound? I am having a hard time deciding between the two. I have seen some people say the Sterling SS was a bit poor on the fit and finish in some cases. Also, where's this bass made?
They both play great ... soundwise there will always be a lot of personal preference and taste involved. The G&L will sound more like a Fender Mustang/Precision while the Sterling will sound like a Music Man, you decide! Oh, both basses were born in Indonesia! :-)
@@bassbonedo2158 Thanks for that, I already have a fender jazz so I think a sterling sound might give me a wider range of sounds from the sound of it. Great playing btw, you make it look totally effortless :)
A big difference is the neck. At the nut the G&L is like a Precision, while the Sterling has the Jazzbass slim neck dimensions. So for me (or my small hands) the G&L is out. Even so I must say that I really love the Yellow G&L ... reminds me of the Ibanez guitars (RG550) from the 80s and I always wanted a bass with that kind of look :-) !
@@phipschi4255 Oh yes absolutely. Still, after checking out a Mustang Bass with a slim neck, I think Long Scale Basses with slim Jazz type necks are best for me.
I managed to get a black one and the body is poplar. It weighs 8.4 lbs. Slightly heavier than my Mustang. I'm 61 years old and use it regularly gigging so it's definitely a doable weight. I imagine the basswood ones are even lighter.
I find it very hard to get a clean tone from this bass especially in OMG mode, which is my favorite 😁. Curious as to what your amp settings were on the video.

Great playing! This thing sounds great. I need to find a dealer to try one out.
The best bass demo channel on TH-cam in my opinion!! Straight ahead no non-sense, clean, practical playing examples! Exactly what a demo should be!
Thank you so much - spread the word! :-)
Totaly Agree! A real bass player showing how the bass sounds!
I bought mine last year and it's becoming one of my Go-Yo gigging basses. Light weight and massive tone!
Great demo! Fantastic playing! The Tribby Fallout sounds amazing!
Killer playing! My toes were tapping and my head bobbing. Great groove.
Thanks for a great demo, and no just chatty or noodling for 13 minutes like most you tubers.
Best demo out there of this bass!
Very nice bass ! Very versatile, we can ear the musicman style with medium on the last slap clip. And very well played as well ;-)
Awesome- playing is strong and no talkie-talkie.
Kudos! Killer video and killer playing!
excellent , nice floating thumb technique
That thing sounds AWESOME!!! ... and it is a short scale. WOW!!

Perfekt! Wie immer.
Came for bass stayed for the groove!
Nice flex six string modulus in background 😊
@Bass Bonedo, this vs the squire mustang cv 60s vs the sterling by musicman short scale?
how much does this bass weigh? thank you ,a great demo
OMG mode 0:00

Lovely bass and sound options. Is this one of the newer basswood versions
Who's the bass player? Great playing as always!
Nice bass. Can you make a demo for Harley Benton Kahuna Fretless? Thanks.
YOur videos are awesome. What is your signal chain for these recordings? I sounds amazing!
What sort of signal processing are you doing? (EQ, compression, etc.)?
Great demo!
What’s a bass demo without pick playing
Still pretty damn good.
a bass demo without a pick is a serious demo
@@chuckblaisdell990 ehrm no, pick playing is valid believe it or not. A demo should show how a bass sounds as much as possible 🤷♂️
better

What did you pick? I got the U5 and love it. But I'm thinking of this one too since its one of the few lefty handed basses in SS.
Same here, but I just pulled trigger on tribute fallout since g&l runs a $375 promo on their site

@@Klaus80804 i mean, since its a short scale it should level out the wider neck a little bit right?

Nice Demo! What do you think of the weight? Heavy side? Manageable? What's the deal. Great deep tone!
according to the sweetwater weights its weighs roughly the same as a long scale, so a tad heavier than other shorties

@@sd3falco That's good to hear. Us old guys need to take care of the shoulder, neck, knees, etc.
@@bookscienfuegos1122 yup, the struggle is real 😆
Hi just wondering if u had chance play rosewood board as well can't decide my self maple or rosewood 😃
The difference is almost not there tone wish, i'd pick what you like more look wise. Im gonna get the white/black one soon :)

Mfd pickups shine with the volume knob somewhere between 60 and 80 percent imo.
Gotta back off the output.
Tribute Fallout vs. Squire Bronco bass.
That popping sound of the snare striking on one is to loud. The video was good.
Was it string with flatwound or roundwound strings? Great playing and demo, very helpful. I think this is my next bass.
rounds for sure
