Pete Doctor is so good at taking stories that have been done before like monsters hiding in your closet, flying houses, emotions having their own character whilst controlling humans and writes them so cleverly it's like you're seeing it for the first time. Soul is no exception!
Sam, I will be the most honest with you, I grew up with you. I am 18 almost 19 in my freshman year in college and ever since about fourth grade I have watched your videos. I remember watching your old Spiderman videos when you reviewed the trilogy and also your video about the Star Wars changes. I admired your work and you as a person, because you were always so genuine. You have always been an important TH-camr to me and I always get excited when I get a notification about a new Sam video. I just thought I'd let you know this just to show ya that there are people like myself out there that care deeply about your videos and you as a person. Never quit Sam. Keep being you.
I have to take a step back and check myself when I read comments like this. It's so easy for me to hand-wave that part of my life from embarrassment over the quality of content or discussion but this really puts into perspective how valuable that stuff was.
Any success that I've experienced on the YT platform is in your guys' debt. Thanks for sticking by me through thick and thin. Especially now, as I'm trying much riskier videos I'm not certain will be received as favourably.

God I feel this SO hard. I feel it so hard that I’m shocked I didn’t get this same feeling from the movie. More and more the anxiety of making stuff for TH-cam that basically no one sees or care about despite the effort I put in has been eating at me, and I feel like I really needed this video around now.

Yay another Sam's Channel video! Also, don't worry Sam. No matter what video you put out, when you put it out, or however long it is, you can always count on your viewers like myself to enjoy it and keep supporting you just like we have for all these years.
Fun fact, you're actually the first channel I ever subscribed to on TH-cam! So I always keep your channel on my sights when I check my notifications.
That fear of all this work going into a passion that may not be rewarded is something that's hits close to home and I think this video and soul in general shows its less about the end goal but instead all the little things that make life more worthwhile.
Let's build a pillow fort so we can escape these existential feelings of dread.
I've wrestled for years with the idea of whether this YT 'thing' is a permanent side-hustle or a legitimate start of something. I still don't really have the answer to that question but it's often in our hands to decide whether either outcome be good or bad.

I caught on and as a Christian,fresh out of college and always hustling,this movie destroyed me,probably the most emotional I've been at a movie since Endgame and at an animation level since Pete Doctor's own Inside Out. Thank Pixar for giving us this in the dog crap year of 2020.
