    Good video. I have a set of Invicta S Series pedals and I had them originally setup like yours and Will from Boosted Media (38 bar with medium elastomer). I was setting them up to feel exactly like my old hydraulic HPP pedals with hard elastomers. However I since discovered that I wasn't hitting the 2nd stage of the THORP which is the whole point of having these pedals and what makes them unique to all other pedals.
    The correct way to setup these pedals is to have the 2nd stage kick in at about 80% pressure. You know when you hit the second stage because it comes to a hard mechanical feeling stop but the THORP will continue to measure your pressure the more you press. The benefit of feeling and recognizing the 2nd stage is that if calibrated correctly it can be used to tell you when ABS will kick in.
    If you can't comfortably hit the second stage at 80% pressure using your preferred bar setting then you should switch down to a softer elastomer and then over time work your way up to a harder elastomer. With your current settings your bar pressure is way too low for the medium elastomer so you will never hit the second stage.
    I currently have mine at about 43 bar with the soft elastomer, previously I couldn't hit that so was using the super soft from the elastomer kit. For the medium elastomer you need to be hitting well over 50 bar to hit the 2nd stage.
    Dave Cam has his set at 70 bar so he must have legs like rocks! I tried the medium elastomer with these higher bar settings but I was getting pain after long sessions, so I aim to work my way up to this once I build greater strength in my leg.
    Thanks to these pedals and making use of the second stage I no longer experience lock ups and I am much more confident and consistent with my braking.
    EDIT: A top tip I recently discovered is to close your eyes and then press at 25% 50% and 80% pressure and then open your eyes each time to see if the values are correct. If they aren't correct then either recalibrate and/or practice more on your muscle memory.

      You explained this very well mark thank you, I did run 50 bar at one stage but was far to straining on me, unfortunately my left knee is my bad knee would have been much better off with my right knee being the bad one. I don’t know how Dave is running 70 he must have some power calves on him. Going to drive your setup for next week (43 bar on soft ), will let you know how I get on 😊

      A thing to add is the straighter your legs the
      easier it is to press hard. just putting your chair a few inches forward will make you a lot weaker at the pedal plate so keep that in mind as well. but thanks for the info about this!

    Pedal feel is very personal. People like long or short press and softer or harder feel. After about a month tweeking my Thrustmaster T-CLM set I loved the feel but did not like the long press. After seeing Boosted Media's review I ordered the Invicta's. They are exactly what I wanted, hard feel and short press.

    Every racing car I've ever driven had a hard brake pedal. Back in the day, when they first came out, Hertz rented out Shelby 350 GT's. They had an inordinate number of accidents because people just weren't ready for racing brakes. Asetek also has the La Prima pedals, which are much less harsh on your feet - if that's important to you.

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes 100% after using the invictas for so long I find myself setting up all other pedals I use to their stiffest settings. The more spongy the brake now the less I feel I have control over my brakes 🤷🏼‍♂️ I remember renting a mustang too but unfortunately was not the 350gt

    • @paulneskow3504
      @paulneskow3504 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheSimCircuit That is absolutely true. It’s just that people are accustomed to softer pedals, ESPECIALLY the brake. But soft pedals are a detriment in a racing car. That comes in fair degree because the racing car develops lots more G’s. In such an environment a “soft pedal” would lead to over use as you’re pushing light pedals while fighting heavy G’s. In sim racing you can set pedals to whatever level you wish; after all, you are NOT driving a real racing car. BUT if you are training for a race, you need a pedal that will reproduce your car. And if you online wish to “immerse” yourself in the race (i.e. fake your brain into thinking you are IN a car on a track) you need a decent motion rig. It won’t create 3-4 G’s, but your brain is certainly THINKING you are.

    Thank you beautifully for the review. It was fun to watch.
    I have been using these pedals since the beginning when they came out and I will admit that I am very happy with them. I added to them Bass Shake TT25, and 32Ep , on the gas and brake, which further increases the imersion. But it is known to be tempted to change in search of better times.
    My attention has been drawn to the P1000s, they have what mine already have in the kit, and I am very curious how they would compare in terms of hydraulic feel, would it be possible to set them up in the same way, that is, a short stroke with a noticeable stage like the Asetek Invicta.
    Are you going to take a chance and do such a comparison?

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I bought the hydraulic for the p1000 and probably will compare them to Invictas. I am testing the simlabs pedals now also I’m away next week. So will start testing the p1000 with hydraulics prob mid October for few weeks. Will do my best to get that video done for start November 😉

      @@TheSimCircuit Thank you buddy for your willingness to do this comparison and I am already looking forward to it.
      I know that it takes time to compare it properly, so don't be in a hurry take the time it takes and I will patiently wait for the reports.
      It seems to me that the difference is unlikely to be much, and changing Invicta to P1000 is rather a sideways move, but everything will become clear after testing.
      I'm afraid that I will be forced to wait until something comes along that will be within financial reach and similar to active pedals.
      Well, have fun with this comparison.
      Much good stay tuned.

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No mate I am not but only reason is cause end last year I hurt my left knee & unfortunately I just can’t press down that hard on the brake pedal especially not when racing for more than an hour. With these pedals you need to push hard to benefit from the two-stage breaking. I however have not sold them because they will 100% go back on my rig. I am hoping in another 3 months il be good to use them again 😢

      @@TheSimCircuit sorry to hear that man, I did see your last reply only after I’d already asked this but nice to hear from you again. I wish you a speedy recovery on that front! @@TheSimCircuit I have put out a few feelers in places yes but if I can’t get a response or solution soon then I might have to consider alternative options. Would you go for the Invicta plus the haptics over the P1000’s with the same parameters ?

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would go with invictas but remember it’s 2 different types of pedals. The p1000 are more adjustable they can be setup like a traditional brake or hard. The invictas replicates a real race car so have very little travel regardless of how you set them up & they are rock hard even on softest setting

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Easy now that I have a bracket to fit the the haptic shakers on them I choose invicta. They are the better pedals over all. Unfortunately I can’t use them for long periods I hurt my left knee end of last year and I just can’t push as hard as use to be able to. With the invictas you need allot of force to benefit from the 2 stage braking. But 100% in my opinion the best product Asetek makes are the invicta pedals they are excellent. That’s why I have yet to sell my invicta pedals because when my knee is back to normal I will have them back on my rig in a heart beat 👍🏻

    Erconomically bigest trash, gas pedal also just soso, had Forte, and also teied to like it but VRS i got were fantastic, asetek Forte felt way way worse, adjustability non existing compared to VRS, and HE ultimate also lost to VRS ;) yes i know this is hydraulics, so maybe just brake is better, but all i mentioned the same is in invicta and forte

      I have not tried the VRS ones but eager to do so, I have to say the Invictas my favourite pedals I personally have owned now on pedal set no7. So many pedals on market there is something for everyone luckily. I went to the sim expo this weekend past and tried like 10 different pedals & its funny cause lots of pedals I loved others did not and vice versa. Pedals definitely like shoes I think it’s kinda to each taste Feel & comfort 🤷🏼‍♂️At this moment I am really really liking the SimLabs pedals will do review on them next month so stay tuned 👊🏻😉

    I think sim racers have somehow forgotten what we are trying to do. It's a Simulator:
    simu·la·tor
    NOUN
    a machine designed to provide a realistic imitation of the controls and operation of a vehicle, aircraft, or other complex system, used for training purposes:
    "a driving simulator"
    Creating a feel that suits the individual is ok, but that's not how it really is, the race cars are far less compliant than road cars than we think. So, trying to have the brake pedal with a long travel is not what it's about. You said that in your review and rightfully, if you are racing, then nothing is more accurate than the simulation of a real pedal than the Invicta's. Liking your content and delivery
    Well done, Yarpie. 🤣😂🤣

    • @TheSimCircuit

      Exactly, loads of people don’t realise that when looking at these pedals or simply don’t understand until they try them for a first time. I was one of these people I have never driven a race car before and when I got these pedals it was a difficult first week to get used to the stiffness in the brake. Now when using other pedals I try to make them as stiff as I can 😂🤦🏼‍♂️
      Thank you for watching 👊🏻

      I have owned these pedels myself, and really liked them a lot. Whether they are more realistic then other pedelsets because of their stiffness and short travel, is not a clear cut issue. Just look up Daniel Morads videos on the topic. According to him, and his videos on the subject, a long travel with a relatively light pedal might be just as realistic😝

      All racing brakes are not the same. I would agree it’s more common with a very stiff pedal with short throw, but it’s far from every race driver that has them set up like that. There are even some F1 drivers that prefer a longer throw.
