V10 engine, 6x6 wheel drive
Interesting working cutaway display of the engine, gear transmission and wheel hub gear
It can be seen in the Deutsches Museum - Verkehrszentrum
(Land transport: Urban transport, travel, mobility and technology)
Directions:
Underground lines U4 and U5 to 'Schwanthalerhöhe',
Bus no. 134 to 'Theresienhöhe',
S-Bahn train lines to 'Hackerbrücke'

It was AWESOME
Same here
👍👍🇦🇪
But But But piramide!!! A.. a.. a.. a advance technology! 😒
Extreme example of Mechanical Engineering
Planetary gearing at the wheels!
you seem surprized xD . Thats how all heavy machinery works. otherwise the gearbox needs to be monstrously huge
@@mplewp ya I guess you're right. But I thought this was a truck. Semis in the U.S don't have planetary gears at the hubs. Maybe we are working with more hp and torque
@@gary19222 nowp , you mostly have the reduction in the gearbox and diff. bc for the american market fuel costs aren't that important as in europe. Bc we don't have our own oil xP . Its just the way manufacturors choose to build stuff nowadays. planetary axles are for heavy haulage / heavy weight trucks. Mast normal trucks don't have planetary axles either.
@Olaeger SLM I love my big block mower
@Olaeger SLM lol stfu
The greatest 57 seconds ever..
This video deserves to be of 1 hour .
Anyone else replay it 5 times because it's so cool!
No
That wheel hub gearing is really interesting
That display is really nicely done.
Thank you for sharing! Fantastic illustration.
I've been slouching on TH-cam all day watching stuff eating garbage feeling empty and this is the coolest thing I've seen all day.
Same
Glad to see the transfer case is gear driven and not chain driven 👍🏾👍🏾
We need more videos like this!
Wow i didn't know that there is a planetary gear system at the rear wheel hub.... Hmmm.. Interesting
probably to increase the torque output further
@@abdurrahmanhashmi1081 yup correct
Most 6x6 dump trucks have, they need to be capable to drive off road.
when I was there I pressed the button that you see at :33 and got yelled at by a staff member lol.
Hmm that looks like an E-Stop button. Pain in the ass to reset the controller, probably.
So you admit to being dis respectful in a museum? Cool mannn can you teach me how to be a rebel like you?
@@tkx86 I don't speak or read German and I thought I saw some other kids pushing it earlier.
@@Darek225Army I forgive you son. lol
@Ida hoe It is not hard to know it is a E-safety stop button....... Anything with moving parts with the potential for dangerous pinch points that turn and rotate need these... I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but can figure out a yellow casing with a red button means STOP. Emergency Stop at that. Are you one of those guys that needs the instructions on shampoo bottles or something?
Short & Sweet.
We need these types of practical explanation for technical students
Nice video!
Great video
That was great i had a 2636 it wasnt 6x6 but it was unstoppable i miss that truck.👍
Super video
Great video ♥️
Super explanation
Lots of lovely engineering there.
Superb👍👍👍
Excellent 👍👍
Wunderbar!!😃😃
SUPER !
Priceless
Cool! !
Informative video
Incredible
Super thalaiva mass video
awesome
Wow half shell view 👍
Nice
Using planetary gears in the differentials like that is a good idea a very good idea.
Well I know where I'm going to start shopping for my differentials
I didnt even know they had planetary gears in the diffs, used to think the massive hubs are just for the drum brakes
wow. i love it
hats off to the engineers
Superb
Классный тренажёр!

Thank you for this video ❤️

Cool 😎
Um espetáculo lindo de se ver.
Wow! Planetary gears in the rear
Great mechanical design.....
Hello thanks you hi hi kĩ sư làm ra thật tuyệt vời cảm ơn
That's quite interest.
Haha, a dissection...great to see and learn how it actually operates when in action...now that's what I call toys...''big boy toys''
But someone's got to make them!
Super machine

It's hard to definitively say with such a short video and not seeing everything all at once, but i can't help but feel like all of the rotating bits are rotating at the same speed, from portal hubs all the way back to the engine crank. I would expect there to be some lower gearing as you went down the drivetrain to the wheels, so that the engine would be turning relatively fast, the output from the transmission/transfer case being slower, the portal hubs being even slower still, so that there'd be a large speed difference between the wheels and the engine.
I know some components can be shifted into direct drive, so that there isn't a speed difference between their input and output, such as the transmission and transfer case, but i would still expect a speed difference from the axle differentials and portal hubs combined, compared to the speed of the engine.
I'd like to spend more time watching this setup. Very neat.
Ya, I do not understand the gearbox at the front-rear axel 00:36 as it does not seem to change the speed nor should it.
Supper
Good
Buenisimo
I wish it was longer
This is the truck that put Mercedes-Benz trucks on the map is had one tractor -trailer 28/44 very series and it never gave problems no computer box it went to the remotely area's Mozambique yes it's slow and don't have the electronics this is best truck for starters and cheap to maintain also
Wow amazing😨😨😨😎

Mejor explicado, imposible.
खूबसूरत
share some more videos for better understanding..............
👍👍👍
How does the clutch function as the gearbox is connected to engine through drive shaft
I wasnt done studying.

Planetary final drives? Wth ?? Crazy German Engineers .. Mechanical Eng in awe right now..
technically there are unnoticeable bias between axles as power gets delivered, the lowest would be the 3rd axle, only the amount of the loss is none
Saludos amigos aquí buscando suscriptores y mirando este video
How much differential loss ?
I did not know they had gears inside the hubs
Many road trucks with trailer doesnt have planetary reducers inside hubs, but many construction trucks dumpers, concrete mixers has it. You can guess if it has reducer by shape of axle inside wheel rim. If there is almost nothing it has no reducer inside and if truck has large cylinder inside rim it is planetary reducer. For example: th-cam.com/video/5TWvMKcqmzc/w-d-xo.html Scania with hydraulic arm has no planetary reducer, only end of axle from differential, but next Scania dumper has planetary reducer in the middle of back wheel.
wooooooooooooow
What is the planetary gear set in the rear hubs purpose? Thank you in advance for any responses.
us germans prefer planetary axles to increase the torque at the wheels. this means you don't need a monstrously heavy earbox to power everything. and you can turn 1000NM into 3000 .
Is that the transmission in the middle??
*Differential there differential here differential there differential also here*
Just one gwestion. Who was first,KAMAZ or Mersedes?
Name of the rear differential?
This is a hard engineer роrn
