- The Delhi airport roof collapse that killed one and injured six was a "very serious incident" and the aviation regulation DGCA will look into the matter thoroughly, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu told reporters today. The canopy and a huge metal beam at the pick-up and drop area outside Delhi airport's terminal 1 collapsed this morning, amid heavy rain.

No. The building needs proper maintenance, which I believe was not done in this case. Therefore, the present government should be held accountable. This isn’t about siding with any political party-someone has died under that building, and there should be accountability

Very unfortunate indeed. Periodical mandatory building inspections of the airport terminals have to be inspected by a quasi govt body and terminals maintained. It happened in Delhi is a shame. The building code and all contractors who built that structure have to be investigated and guilty punished.

From technical point of view if the canopy was built in the year 2009 , then it is about 15 years old. Then what is needed now? We need proper and regular maintenance , for which there must be maintenance staff employed there.
