The Line itself only connects NDLS Railway station, and is quite useless for a major part of Delhi fliers (the support city fliers aren't enough). Its losing money and mostly runs empty
@@sandeeproy1327 "The biggest fallacy is the Airport Line Metro. Its stops 2 kms away from T3" That's ridiculous! I haven't been to Delhi recently so I wasn't aware of this!
That was a very good video. Was surprised to know how the runway numbers are decided and why in past, cross runways were made at airports. Content and presentation was top notch. However, would still like to point few minor mistakes given below 1. In IGI, Terminal 1A and 1B dont exist anymore. They were demolished in the 2000s to make T1C and T1D. And now only T1C and T1D are being consolidated together to make one big integrated Terminal 1. 2. Regarding the future expansion plans of IGI, you mentioned that T2 will be expanded and T4 will also be made. Thats partly wrong. T2 will actually be demolished and T4 will be made at its place only. T2 is an old terminal and it was shut down after T3 started in 2010. After that it was renovated and opened again for domestic flights only bcoz T1 was going under renovation so some traffic was needed to shift from there and it was shifted to T2. In future, once T1 renovation is complete all flights will shift back to T1 and as per current plans (not approved although), T2 will be demolished and a new T4 will be made at its place. In your video the place you showed where T4 will be made in future, is actually the General Aviation terminal. 3. Regarding the bidding for Noida airport, you mentioned that GMR could have got the bid even if their bid was 10% less. Thats partially correct, as in addition to the above condition, GMR would have to match the highest bid amount. 4. The winning bid of Zurich Airport was Rs. 400.97 per passenger, thus it is publicly available.
One major reason is that most Air India flights comes to Delhi instead Mumbai from internation destinations which also increase traffic to delhi airport. Air India should fly directly to other major airports like Amdavad, Hyderabad, Bangalore for major international destinations few day a week instead of Delhi.
At present, Mumbai CSIA has just 2 runways, that too they intersect. So, most of the time, its 1 runway being used. That's why the airport is operating at 98%. The sooner the Navi Mumbai Intl airport is in operation, the better. it will take a load of CSIA.
I don't know if you understand what a hub ist. There is a reason why all AI flights converge at Delhi. Number of international travellers have to increase several folds if airlines were supposed to consider other hubs such as Bangalore, Mumbai (new airport), or Pune (new proposed), Ahmedabad, Hyderabad. Take example of Germany. Currently AI can pool several travellers to Frankfurt from different parts of India from their respective airports to Delhi, and then collectively transport them in one Boeing 787. If each hub had direct flights, they would have to reduce frequency to 1-2 flights per week to afford it. But with urban population and diaspora increasing, I see that option becoming viable gradually over next 10 years. But only Mumbai (new) and Bangalore airport would be forefront in that race. Ahmedabad and Pune would be next. Nagpur, Hyderabad and Kolkata are rather unlikely given their geographic position
delhi airport is gutter including there staff. i noticed Ahmedabad can be number one in india. there run way can go up 27090 feet lenfth. 747 need only 5000 feet usage
not necessarily there is IGIA which can see future upgrade , it is made by Zurich Airport Authority, if they want to upgrade it they might, but it will take upto 2040 to upgrade, it also depends on the regions demand
Plus stopping at the other end is a thing too. By the time you reach 300, you'll have to start applying breaks to slow down at the other end. Not efficient or time saving either.
@@shubham-oh4ki yes but it doesn't have any stops inbetween. Airport metros from NIA to IGI etc wud probably have multiple stops inbetween. Plz do your research properly!!
