I was in San Francisco during September/October 23 and very happy to see an Air India flight there. For me, Air India flight always stands out due to it`s livery and also being an Indian basically. I had only flown with Air India only twice, from London to Mumbai and then to Kochi in Feb 2017. Had seen Air India flights in New York, Melbourne, Bangkok and Singapore which makes me happy. Air India never flew to Adelaide in South Australia; but during Covid times around Aug 2020, there were some repatriation flights between Delhi and Adelaide and took some photos. Later on, Air India had two flights transiting via Adelaide, one from Sydney and the next from Melbourne to Delhi, but their Delhi to Sydney or Melbourne were direct. Both these service via Adelaide has since been scrapped. I had flown to the new Bengaluru airport from London and then to Kochi in Jan 2009 with the defunct King Fisher airlines. Air India should provide WIFI service to flights especially the long haul ones.

Akasa is just like any other low-budget airlines. Took a very short flight from Chennai to Bangalore earlier this week. Charged Rs. 550 extra for 1 kg over weight on ckecked luggage. No hot drinks served due to short flight. Booked and paid for food inflight but handed some muffin in a box and some juice packet. Young, enthusiastic, busy bee crew. The pilot hard landed the MAX but safe. OK, overall.
Captain seems like a great pilot. The landing was rock solid, not even a bit of waggle or bounce. Landing on a shorter runway is no problem with a really light aircraft having burned off all that fuel.
I actually don’t mind if the wifi isn’t working on a flight. It’s a good opportunity to have time away from emails and the mobile phone! Peace and ‘me time’!

Thanks, Sam. I loved you narrating a bit about technicalities here and there, which is most welcome and perhaps adds to knowing about flights better. Amazing that Pilot shared interesting details; we never get to see this often. Overall, a good share. Thanks once again and look forward to more.

Back on 2006 I flew on air India when they flew out of Los Angeles on a clapped out 747….. even than it was the best flight to India I have ever had simply because the economy used those wide butt cushion seats. Food was awesome and free alcohol And I got drunk as a skunk with the uncle and auntie next to me. There was no internet no tv except for what came down from the ceiling. I’m glad. They are getting better and they will be number 1 again for international service. Come back to Los Angeles air India.
Connecting TWO TECH HUBS in world non stop. India is on the RISE and AIR INDIA following on. Food innovation on the Flight is to be improved to a higher level. GO GUYS.
This was a nice 777-200 LR ex Delta. The original Air India ones are very tired and not thoroughly clean inside and out. Hopefully TATA has new interiors coming soon at least. Also you are right Indian airport security is the most picky and detailed in the world. Emptying everything electronic several times is daft as is the 5-6 ID/ ticket checks. In my recent flight where the DEL-ORD was delayed 10 hours (third time this has happened) they at least handled it better having arranged a hotel. The previous two times we were left to make our own arrangements and several of us stayed in the lounge for 24 hours. Agree with you on food. They could improve that fairly easily, especially the Indian options I’d think.
Thank you & appreciate Sam for bringing out such a nice vlog on Long Haul Air India Flight. Its very very intresting to see Pilot explaning about the aircraft, his knowledge is superb. Your flight review is outstanding. Good to see cabin crew & passengers appreciating changes in Air India. TATA's will definitely turn Air India into Worlds favourite Airline in no time.
I am sure travelling by Air India in the coming years will be a sense of national pride . I think the brand Air India beautifully personifies India culture and its Rich heritage . It’s modern yet classic and these long haul flights will definitely give the experience that passengers are looking for . I wish Air India the best of the growth and success 😊😊😊 . Jai Hind !!
Agree. And it passed Genenetech on its right side. Worked there for >6 years in drug development and we used to get on top of a parking structure to see planes land and take off at SFO. Had a direct view.
Despite the considerable break, the longest Air India flight from Bengaluru to San Francisco began its voyage. TATA, the very first and grand old symbol of Indian air travel, takes immense satisfaction in its voyage. I gladly sent my best wishes to the staff members who are providing compassionate and modest services to the passengers. For the past 15 years of coming to the United States, I have had several obstacles in transportation and at immigration checkpoints in two or three locations. And I happened to have a 3 to 9 hour stopover in the airport. Now, all of these laborious tasks will be completed pleasantly. Next, I'd want to thank Sam for sharing this fantastic footage with his viewers.👍
Thank for covering this flight. Was in BLR this year during my first India trip ever. BLR is indeed stunning. Plus this suuuuper long flight o SFO, wow.

Lovely Flight crew, graceful pilot and a comfortable flight... I am glad to see that things are improving and waiting to try the new planes they will induct.
At 5:19, the engines sounds you hear are not a concern, rather they are prob a combo of your ears popping and the 'buzz-saw noise' produced when the tips of the engine's fan blades move at transonic speeds (speeds approaching or slightly exceeding the speed of sound). This happens when the engine is operating at high power settings, like during takeoff. You'd hear it too on a 787 or a350 if in a similar seat, during take off and climb. I've researched as I had a similar question as you.
Air India has been under threat by khalisthani terror groups in the past few weeks…so checks have become a lot more stringent recently. Which is probably the reason for all that.
I know they’re going through a lot of good changes and it’s good to see Air India really stepping up to deliver the best products they can. However, on their long-haul flights, I can’t wait to see their new aircraft and what the new products will look like.

1:49 nail-clipper. I have experienced the same as well. Bangalore airports is extremely strict but they seem illogical with some of the security checks. They can be annoying, and troublesome too with 4,5,6,7 or even 10 checks before you get to the jet bridge. Rules change for every airport, and some over do. Such over precautious security frustrates domestic passengers too, and more for overseas. I feel sorry but Glad you made through the gates and checks.
Air India is in transition phase and I believe TATA will going to make it dream airline for Indian as well Foreign to Travel. Positive- pleasant. 2)Clean and Hygenic flights , previous flights have Govt Bus like filling and smelling. 3)Food and drinks, although it good for Indians but for western food it should go with simple and basic. Negative- 1)Inflight Entertainment - still very difficult to pass time , very bad condition. 2)WiFi connectivity - it is must requirement but due to earlier Govt rule most aircraft don't have it. 3)Broken and not working system like TFT screens, lights and seats.
Love these vids of airlines a lot of people might not normally experience. Have you tried uploading in higher quality resolution? I can't imagine your camera is the problem.

@@Iehenkabodaseriously dude. I can say Delhi airport should be worst airport in India in terms of immigration and they way it handle. Delhi is just big airport nothing much.

Sam, I love your conversations with the crew so much! Would love to see a video in Akasa airlines too, heard they are also trying up their game.
Thank you! I always love the crew engagement part.

Hi from Bengaluru. Lots of thanks to the Captain for the explanation. Nice video to watch Sam. Thank you.😊
The captain is a cool, nice dude!!!! Appreciate the time he gave us!

I actually don’t mind if the wifi isn’t working on a flight. It’s a good opportunity to have time away from emails and the mobile phone! Peace and ‘me time’!
I travel every year about 120 flights average and upto to 150k miles. a super Elite passanger. I most enjoyed on AirIndia business class. An extraordinary treatment! Older flights ware more enjoyable.
I would like TATA Air India to become the best airliner as it was when it was with TATA 🎉🎉🎉
Done👍
You're correct with the meals. It looked like overcooked and lacked freshness. Probably the catering needs to prioritise the food standards based on the routes and also the packaging.
Thanks, Sam. I loved you narrating a bit about technicalities here and there, which is most welcome and perhaps adds to knowing about flights better. Amazing that Pilot shared interesting details; we never get to see this often. Overall, a good share. Thanks once again and look forward to more.
The captain was Wholesome!
Such an awesome interactive jovial pilot who wants to deep dive into the intricate things! 👌 🔥 ❤️ A captain indulging with an Avgeek is really rare. 🎉super happy for you Sam.
Love from BLR 27R. (I stay close to this runway).
Hello sir,
I am from India. This is first video that I like @ airplane.
Superb content 👍❤️
Thanks for covering the BLR-SFO sector Sam ❤
Indeed! Can’t wait to fly on this bird….month of march please arrive soon 😊
Capt your briefing on aircraft performance was absolutely beautiful....so crisp concise and ....sounds like an airforce briefing room👌👏 blue skies and safe landing...💪🇮🇳
It is very pride to travel In Air India. Hat's of Ratan Tataji bringing back to Tata Group.and always proud to travel in National carrier AIR INDIA❤
The pilot is a really kind, knowledgeable, experienced and a great guy!!!
I am already seeing improvement. Good for Sam and Air India to showcase the changes
6:26 honestly, I do not need wi-fi on an airplane. Since it is a good place to disconnect from the world and just enjoying the time. In case of getting really bored, I have books and IFE
Good explain from the captain 👨✈️ love from Bangladesh ❤️ and I love air India ✈️
Come back to Los Angeles air India.
big fan of your videos .... hope Tata will improve the experience soon .... lots of love from India ...
I love Bangalore International Airport, God bless Air India and Captain Mr. Khan vivid explanation looks very cool man.
Connecting TWO TECH HUBS in world non stop. India is on the RISE and AIR INDIA following on. Food innovation on the Flight is to be improved to a higher level. GO GUYS.
Perhaps India to to Tokyo to sfo so they can add a few more flights
@@SFAvgeek that route sounds lot better but it’s hella expensive lol
Glad to note the changes that are taking place in our Air India...proud to be Indian
I wish that air India would come with original strength ❤❤❤❤
I wish I knew what you were trying to say.
Great video and loved the Captain - I am sure Tata will further improve Air India

Nice to see you respecting my parents and my country 🇮🇳
I am sure travelling by Air India in the coming years will be a sense of national pride . I think the brand Air India beautifully personifies India culture and its Rich heritage . It’s modern yet classic and these long haul flights will definitely give the experience that passengers are looking for . I wish Air India the best of the growth and success 😊😊😊 . Jai Hind !!
16:22 That touch down at SFO was 👌🙌.
Agree. And it passed Genenetech on its right side. Worked there for >6 years in drug development and we used to get on top of a parking structure to see planes land and take off at SFO. Had a direct view.
Such a great in-detailed explanation by Pilot about the flight status and internal details. He is throughly a gem and expert in his own role.
Most incredible welcome and smile from air crew followed by :( please come)❤
Very smart young captain and very good staff, thank you Sam for the video👍👍
Sam, your videos come back to the initial high quality of when you started, my compliments indeed ! 👍👍👍
Sam - nice to see you in Namma Bengaluru 😍
Thank for covering this flight. Was in BLR this year during my first India trip ever. BLR is indeed stunning. Plus this suuuuper long flight o SFO, wow.

Omg i love the amazing sound of the GE90 on the 777-200LR

Great info from the captain, found that very interesting 👌🏾
1:49 nail-clipper. I have experienced the same as well. Bangalore airports is extremely strict but they seem illogical with some of the security checks. They can be annoying, and troublesome too with 4,5,6,7 or even 10 checks before you get to the jet bridge. Rules change for every airport, and some over do.
Such over precautious security frustrates domestic passengers too, and more for overseas.
I feel sorry but Glad you made through the gates and checks.
They're painful on the skin. I'd rather not bring it.
The captain is so nice to explain those geeky details
Air India is in transition phase and I believe TATA will going to make it dream airline for Indian as well Foreign to Travel.
Positive-
pleasant.
2)Clean and Hygenic flights , previous flights have Govt Bus like filling and smelling.
3)Food and drinks, although it good for Indians but for western food it should go with simple and basic.
Negative-
1)Inflight Entertainment - still very difficult to pass time , very bad condition.
2)WiFi connectivity - it is must requirement but due to earlier Govt rule most aircraft don't have it.
3)Broken and not working system like TFT screens, lights and seats.
The Captain was the highlight of this video!!
Love these vids of airlines a lot of people might not normally experience. Have you tried uploading in higher quality resolution? I can't imagine your camera is the problem.
Nice explanation from the captain. Good job on the info
Excellent again Sam... question, what app did the pilot show you in his table when he talked about FLIGHT PATH, WEIGHT, etc. I know LIDO is there in the market.
