- Day 1 on the Benton MacKaye trail: Got dropped off by Ron Brown the shuttle driver at Springer Mtn parking at 2.30pm. Nice and sunny until I got to BMT trailhead. It started pouringgggg!!! The trail looked like a running creek. Since I started late, I only hiked 8 miles. It rained off and on all night. I slept so well despite the anxiety of starting a thru-hike. :) Hope to be able to get into that thru-hiker's mindset again.
Hello Christina. You're on your way. I have made a start on the South Downs Way which I will do bit by bit when the weather is dry. I've done three days so far starting in Winchester. Last section on foot looping round around Exton Village (The Shoe Inn) and before that; two days by bike. It's around 50 years since I was last on a bike so the joints have been creaking, (mine not the bikes!)
Go Sheep!
Best wishes, Pete
Oh well done!! I miss the SDW!!! Why am I so far away from England....ugh
Hi Christina, we have now caught up with all your recent UK posts! So we watched this video last night and you are right, you do put out good videos! We love how you are an Anglophile. We think you need to explore the South West Coast Path when you’re in the UK, we’ve done the whole route and it was quite special….North Devon, Cornwall, South Devon and Dorset coastlines…beautiful. Well we must ‘crack on’…😊
Oh yesss, i will do SWCP sometime. I will do ALL the trails in Britain. Heck, I think i might even live there!! :) theres not one day I dont long to be in Britain. :( ill come bsck after Ben retires next year in April with Bobo too and stay for awhile :)
Well that’s good news! Looking forward to those videos already. 😊 we are off to The Peak District next week, a bit of riverside walking. Then back to the lovely Lake District in September. Hey how about all the Wainwrights? We’ve done them too, twice! We an experience. Wish we’d been able to film it. Love our walking ❤
Girl I was thee a week ago. We hiked from Springer to Hawk Mnt. I wanted to see the water fall but we were beaten up. It was too humid.
I know. You only walked for 1 day? I lasted 6 days only :/ Quit bc it was so borring ... all green tunnel, I'd rather be home
We hiked about 20 miles in a day and a half but, my cousin got sick, and we could not leave her behind. It was a bit frustrating, but no hiker left behind. I hope to come back again.

@@lifeisbetterinhikingboots-71 oh Im sorry to hear about your cousin. Did she get sick from the heat or was it other things?
Unfortunate graffiti at 12.56. Haha.. I guess you didn't notice.
Woww...I had to watch and look!! How did you even notice that? Great attention to detail!!
