I've been trying to overcome gluttony for a long time, and there's very little info on it, so I thank you for discussing this.

I am so taken back by the deep insights and genuine concern for the wellbeing of humanity and our youth. God bless Anna and Will for sharing and showing how truth is not the preserve of a few but a light that transcends and illuminates from many directions.

I would like to apologize to my lovely ramadhan "i am ashamed of what we are doing... ramadhan always was too good to us, and now we abuse it, willfully and think we are worthy of it.. lets 'have fun' in ramadhan... it is a commercal holiday, and everything about it is gluttony x3

i am sorry; fasting in nowadays terms means "hold it for few hours, then glutton the button away"

That's why it's important for all of us (especially muslims) to correct our misconceptions about fasting and to practice it as authentically as possible

Just eat as you need and in normal portions sizes. Rarely have a dessert or treat and exercise avoid smoking and alcohol/drugs. Also eat proper foods and minimise junk to next to none.

It is true, selling people their weaknesses by Sheikh Hamza (Salamahullah). I am in UK and I work as a security guard in Tesco Supermarket. We have a card called Club Card (Tesco Club Card) and when somebody do their shopping they scan the Club Cards and they gets points for that or some time they gets the product quite cheap e.g. if something is for £30 you get it for £20 or even £15, this is all data collection, they want to monitor what people likes and what they always buy, through food products there will be perhaps a day when Dajjal and his disciples will be ruling the world. It is very nice, sometimes belly could be a real problem in peoples getting wealthier, if someone can learn how to control his food habits then he can become really rich not only rich but healthy aswell, so he will be healthy and wealthy.

I thought the virtue complement to gluttony was temperance. Fasting is not a virtue it's a practice.

I really enjoyed this talk, Hamza Yusuf was great as always of course and I really enjoyed both the guests. Honestly I feel like this is a sin I struggle with a lot along with many other sins and I really feel ashamed of myself for it. If I could ask a favor of anyone who happens to read this comment, please make a prayer for me to overcome these vices. God bless you all ❤️

      No:
      Internet
      Cell phones
      Ear buds
      Meat
      Alcohol
      Sugar
      Artificial ingredients
      With periods of-
      Modified silence
      Mindfulness
      And so on

Food is deeper than religion. It’s cultural. And if we really want to get the root of this we would need people from all cultures represented.

I think this was not so much about food but about the spiritual implications of gluttony that goes beyond food..

    • @CLBOO6
      @CLBOO6 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@aishabaseema1599 I agree it's not about food, it's about gluttony and consumption.
