    They make a really interesting point about how the more sexualized a culture becomes the less great works of art and culture they produce. I wonder if they can expand upon that theme.

    Shakespeare Sonnet 129:
    The expense of spirit in a waste of shame
    Is lust in action; and till action, lust
    Is perjured, murderous, bloody, full of blame,
    Savage, extreme, rude, cruel, not to trust,
    Enjoy’d no sooner but despised straight,
    Past reason hunted, and no sooner had
    Past reason hated, as a swallow’d bait
    On purpose laid to make the taker mad;
    Mad in pursuit and in possession so;
    Had, having, and in quest to have, extreme;
    A bliss in proof, and proved, a very woe;
    Before, a joy proposed; behind, a dream.
    All this the world well knows; yet none knows well
    To shun the heaven that leads men to this hell.

    Alhamdullilah. Sheikh Hamza is phenomenal. He quotes poems of Dylan and Shakespear in front of a poet. What a beautiful series I am enjoying. May God bless you eternally with all the grace and mercy worthy of you! Ameen.

    44:00 there's a whole culture based on this loss of creativity due to loss of semen it's called NoFap. NoFap is abstaining from self pleasure and retaining their own "energy" and not releasing it without a purpose.
    There's also a tradition in the Tao culture called "Semen Retention", which is different from NoFap in where you "release" after 10 day or 2-3 weeks depending on the age. I'm pretty sure Budhhist monks have it this tradition too.
    Edit: NoFap was a solution to the pRon problem. Minds were getting destroyed by pron and some guys on reddit suggested NoFap and that's how it got started.

    Very beautiful discussion there's so many points one could touch on further but at the same time its very saddening how desire (in lust - not just sexually but in so many other facets) overtakes one, quite easily I might add, with deception, and in the end leaves one empty and alone, if one were even lucky enough to realise that indeed one is discontent in this trivial pursuit. The other point for me is that, religion is not a means just for trying to attain heaven or please God or please The Prophet, (SAW) or avoid punishment and hell, but rather I believe its a means to live this life the way God had intended for us, a means of guiding us towards the best life, a life of happiness and contentment, for nobody else but for Oneself. May Allah forgive me for both my ignorance and arrogance.

    Abu Umamah reported: A young man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, give me permission to commit adultery.” The people turned to rebuke him, saying, “Quiet! Quiet!” The Prophet said, “Come here.” The young man came close and he told him to sit down. The Prophet said, “Would you like that for your mother?” The man said, “No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you.” The Prophet said, “Neither would people like it for their mothers. Would you like that for your daughter?” The man said, “No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you.” The Prophet said, “Neither would people like it for their daughters. Would you like that for your sister?” The man said, “No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you.” The Prophet said, “Neither would people like it for their sisters. Would you like that for your aunts?” The man said, “No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you.” The Prophet said, “Neither would people like it for their aunts.” Then, the Prophet placed his hand on him and he said, “O Allah, forgive his sins, purify his heart, and guard his chastity.” After that, the young man never again inclined to anything sinful.
    In another narration, the Prophet said to him, “Then hate what Allah has hated, and love for your brother what you love for yourself.”

    Islam provides no theological basis or argument against lust and certainly not through the example of Mahomet.
    To use the Qur'an, sunnah, or hadith to speak out against lust, is similar to using Sun Tzu's 'Art of War' to speak against war.
