Do you think you’d be able to give us a culinary history of your career? Say one video every few weeks that talks about a particular skill or taste that you learnt as you started training?
Wow! That's expensive. I am in the states and I am married with no children. Hubby is retired and I am not able to work outside the home. Our income is very fixed. We spend a little more than what you just spent for the month. I get inexpensive everything. Frozen fish, when we get it. That food looks wonderful the way you laid it out there. I am so glad we have you to learn from and make the best tasting food from whatever "grade" of food each of us can afford. You are amazing and I appreciate you and your encouraging programs, so much. Also, I'm glad you came to Texas to eat some good BBQ with us. It seems that y'all enjoyed the trip and the food. I live in the Texas panhandle. It's quite a way from where you were at but the BBQ is still good up here! Thanks again!!!
Maaate, if the Aussies think the supermarket duopoly is bad over there, its far worse over here. There's been a fair few stories over the last couple of years of Kiwis buying non-perishables online from Australia and even with shipping its still cheaper than going to New World / Countdown / Pak 'n Slave. I'm lucky with time flexibility so am able to do separate runs to a local butcher, veg shop and asian grocers which has meant I can reduce my supermarket visits as much as possible.
That was very weird the exposure fluctuating. I always have my Canon camera set to Manual and then I tune it to the amount of natural light in my kitchen for each video. i love your rule about the team eating lunch together and no shop talk. It is the same for families. I remember you saying something about that leading up to the book launch. Im loving this "real Andy" vlog.
I'm an American who was an ex-pat in Sydney/Brisbane for 3 years. It's funny that you mentioned Coles... I had a moment when my 1st thought was "Why is he talking about getting chooks at Kohl's?" Kohl's is, in essence, a department store here in the US, hence my momentary cofusion 😂
Andy, Chef and Legend! Thanks for sharing and taking us along with your day, I do appreciate it but please don't work too hard, enjoy your weekends and time off! Peace ❤
These are great! Keep it up! I would love to see a video of your process for developing a recipe. The way I do it is I go on the internet and look up 5 to 10 versions of what I want to cook and then I boil it down to the core ingredients and then build a recipe from there
Hey Andy, love these new videos! Also, I love your whole brand/personality! You've inspired me to not just get back into cooking, but to also go after some of my goals. Thank you for all of the great content, and keep up the great work! You definitely deserve all the success!!!!
Ok I wanted to catch up the videos I haven't seen yet, but I could not resist: only a dozen oysters for breakfirst? That's really not a lot. And please come visit the markets in France. :)
ANDY, I live near San Francisco about an hour from the ocean and fishing piers. I NEVER buy fresh fish or seafood ... unless it is coming directly off the boat, the same day it was caught.. The fishermen could be at sea, for a week or more! I always buy processed and frozen on the boat. Defrost at home, in time for cooking. Much better flavor and food safety ... then letting the super market defrost it for you!
PS, as a retired CPA in the US, Suggest you talk to your tax consultant. It is unlikely that 100% of your food costs are deductible, if you eat most of your vlog food. Generally, personal food consumption is not deductible for tax purposes!
Huge fan of yours and your team. I initially came across you through TikTok but I love your content. I am curious Was there a pivotal moment where your career took this new direction into content creation or did you expect the success you’ve had with it. I know you’re very humble but I am curious if you were confident this was a direction you were going to take or was it more of a hobby that took off.
I live in a tiny rural town that has IGA but, as you say, the selection is limited and ours is relatively expensive (but that's expensive compared to the duopoly). Coles and Woolies are 45 mins (or 1.5hrs) away, but in rural areas, there's no such thing as a fishmonger. It's supermarket seafood or nothing. We raise and process our own beef and lamb and, much as I'd prefer to support our local butcgphers, their meat is horrifically expensive.
thanks for touching on the cost...some of us are fortunate to be able to afford to eat what we want but a lot of people have to sacrifice for cheaper alternatives.
We don't have human kid's, we have 4 furbabies, 2 dogs, and 2 cats, and feeding them is expensive, great content Chef, looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos
Hey Andy love your content on both this channel and your main one!! I was just wondering why that in tomato based dishes/sauces you don’t use tinned tomatoes?
Good on you, me too, I gave up everything I loved including yoga and painting to make content in this past year. I also worked full time. I'm back into yoga now, and exercise in general. So important to look after yourself. Cheffing in general is bad for this. I think the same TH-cam mentality and insecurity applies no matter if you have millions of subscribers like yourself, or just a few like me. You are doing amazing. Really interested to see the recipe for the Kiwi Pav, my daughter lives in NZ, married to a kiwi, who is a chef btw, and we have a friendly rivalry because obviously the pav originated from Australia. :) I just made a piccalilli video; it's had a whopping 72 views. I grew up in Melbourne, I miss the markets, the smell, the noise, the donuts. I also live in the Sunshine Coast. The cost of groceries in Australia is out of control, but NZ is worse. Apologies for all the rambling. Love this raw style of video. You have lovely eyes btw, never noticed that before.
Dang, I average about $100 USD in groceries per week for two people and we do eat out a couple of times on top of that. I'd need to make BANK where you live.
Hey Andy if ever you decide to get a Bookkeeper talk to me please as I look after multiple North Coast businesses from Brisbane & have over 40yrs experience. Brady Solutions. Cheers Denise

Andyy! I'm so delighted to see you around here more, thanks for taking us along with you in your daily life :)
More to come!

@@andycooksbackofhouse You are most welcome! And, again, thanks for all you do for us! You, your wife and team are a blessing to anyone who watches!
Hey Andy, so happy to see what you're up to in your life and we get a glimpse of your life 🤩🤩 keep it up!
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks Andy! I appreciate your authenticity and humility.

Having worked in the food industry for many years I really enjoyed your conversation about food production
Andy, from one mo bro to another, the ‘tache is outstanding!

Yes, please, Andy, show us your grocery store run- that’s real stuff for us home cooks.
Once you get settled, I'd like to see a BoH of the new studio and house layout
Very happy with this style of content Andy. Keep it up!
Andy, Chef and Legend! Thanks for sharing and taking us along with your day, I do appreciate it but please don't work too hard, enjoy your weekends and time off! Peace ❤
Will do, thanks legend
Yes, food is expensive currently in Australia so I appreciated you acknowledging that. ❤
My thoughts exactly. Cost of living is through the roof at the moment. Worse part is, it will never go back down.
These are great! Keep it up!

Real talk Amdy, best Andy

Mate where can you get that steel pot with the flat lid, or what brand is it
Can you do a fridge & freezer tour please 😊

HI Andy
look a bit Tired
Thanks for all your content
super nerd, love your vlogs.
If you’re interested, can you talk about how you use AI for workflow? And other things you do to optimize workflow?

Gym every 2nd day, other days cardio and rest..
Do you ever take any days off or go on holiday? What does a holiday look like to you?
Can’t fake genuine content mate. Gotta be true to yourself
It is so normal to not want to film yourself in public! Just do what you’re comfortable with. The video turned out great without it!
If you haven’t been i recommend Asian Food 4 U at Maroochydore
