yes same here! we always save all of our veggie scraps for homemade broth as well, i just keep a big ziplock bag in the freezer and toss things in till it’s full!
Aldi is my #1 place to shop. Took my husband about 6/7 months ago for the first time and his mind was blown. He couldn't believe the savings. My #1 item is chicken. It's NEVER slimy and you can't beat the price anywhere that I've seen. There are so many Aldi branded items that we love more than the name brand. You can go to my car at any time and there is always a quarter in the door handle, gotta always have that "Aldi quarter". Of course, I have to replace it a lot because my daughter loves to "pay it forward" and give our cart to someone so they don't have to use their quarter ❤
I used to shop at Aldi when my kids were still at home. I haven’t been there in years. I had no idea they were selling all that organic stuff. I will definitely be back! You got a crazy deal that was a lot of. I’m looking forward to shopping at Aldi again. Thank you for the info Kristen!
That's great that you like RED Peppers. They actually have MORE Vitamin C than an orange and LESS sugar. So yummy with hummus~ Oh and I love dipping veggies or apples in pumpkin dip ( I have no qualms about eating pumpkin year round. I buy the organic canned pumpkin puree. Mix some with pure natural pb, ground cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, a little sweetener of your choice and a little course sea salt.
You are so blessed to have an Aldi store close by. We don't have any in the state of WA. I'm praying that they will bring one soon to Eastern WA. I did email the company to request a store where I live. The other day I went to Trader Joe's and I spent $81 on 2 bags of groceries. You got a lot of great things.
For those who do not know, ALDI’s brats are made by Klements Sausage Company. My son in law works there. I am not sure how big brats go over in other states but they are a big summer hit here in Wisconsin.
Hi, my husband and I have shopped there for YEARS! It is easy to shop. is clean and fresh produce is always beautiful. No coupons, self-bagging, and smaller selection of items all add to lower costs, I'm sure. We love the crab cakes, shrimp, filets wrapped in bacon, egg rolls, chicken salad with cranberries. LOVE,LOVE Aldi !
Hi Kristen, what a great feeling to have your kitchen cupboards and fridge stocked with healthy food. You are an amazing shopper. Loved seeing your grocery haul this week! Happy birthday Hoffman girls 🩷🩷🩷 enjoy your party.
From Texas, FRY or bake your taco shells, for sure. I fry ours in organic coconut oil from HEB . Does your cilantro last pretty long? I've been using a tip I saw, make a plastic bag tent over it and secure with rubber band. ( mini greenhouse)
Hey Kristen! I thought I’d share this with you, I saw in one of your videos you mentioning that you keep getting sick. So ever since I’ve moved into my house four years ago, I have been constantly sick. I did an allergy test a couple of days ago and found out that I am highly allergic to dust mites and our air ducts are filled with so much dust , we now have to get them replaced since they’re in too bad of shape to have cleaned. Apparently it’s more common of an allergy than people think so just throwing it out there! Love your videos!! Can’t wait for the next one 💜💜
Weekly Aldi shopper here. Bring your own bags. I use canvas tote bags, that I bought secondhand and that last for years because of their durability. I keep several in my car and they can carry anything. I agree: I chop onions that are getting close to their end and freeze in a zip-lock bag for soups, casseroles, etc. The best aspect about Aldi for me, other than the lower prices, is their small footprint. I know where everything is in their store and I can shop, pay, be in and out in very little time, as opposed to huge supermarkets where I wander, looking at 2 dozen options of one item. I only buy the Aldi store brand. But even Aldi's prices have gone up.
@@kimgordon3695 I have no problem with it. It’s all I use now. If I have a red-sticker item that requires a checkout person, they always come quickly to the bell for help and cheerfully adjust the price.

It’s mandatory for Pittsburgh Pa region, even though some grocery stores still have plastic bags and just recently they’ve been charging for them. What I do is take a few bags and my Versa Cart, which I use to shop with instead of the store’s cart.
My Aldi is 3 blocks from my house ♥️ I do buy many of the things you bought minus the organic. My husband and I are in our late Sixties we eat pretty traditional foods. The foods we’ve been eating our whole lives. I love their bagged Avocados, romaine lettuce, Cherub tomatoes (at our store they do have brand names) all of their cheeses. I buy their fresh chicken and thin pork chops. I love their roaster red pepper hummus, I can go on and on about their groceries but my comment would be many paragraphs so I’ll stop here. ❤
I have an Aldi down the street and in have never gone, here in the south most everyone goes to Publix a huge food chain. I may now have to check them out. Thanks for sharing and giving me a new place to shop. Have a blessed week❤🙏🏻
Girl get yourself to Aldi. I was a Publix shopper for years but started going to Aldi on occasion. About 6/7 months ago we decided to switch to shopping almost exclusively at Aldi and have cut our grocery bill in half (if not more). So many items we prefer the Aldi brand to name brand. My #1 item is chicken. The chicken is never slimy and you can get a big family pack for about the same or less than a regular size pack of Publix chicken.

Or your own shopping bags. If I only need a few items and I'm doing self check out, I gladly purchase the bags. Love them because they are heavy duty brown paper, very sturdy with handles, and reusable for many things. They are nice enough for gift bags. And my grands love to paint on them.

I started shopping at Aldi in June 2007 when I bought a ton of fruit for my daughter’s High School graduation party. I’ve been shopping there since that day!

As an older person it is a blessing to find most of the things i need in one place. the employees are always very nice and helpful also.
FIRED roasted YES, MORE flavor! Heavy whipping is GOOD, no sugar. Whole fat is going to keep you more satiated than non fat anything. Grocery prices are OUT RAGIOUS, so when it comes to organic, we too have ot pick and choose.
My husband used to be a district manager for Aldi, and he said that most of the Aldi brand stuff is the exact same as the name brand. Like, if you buy Aldi frosted flakes, the same cereal goes in the name.brand boxes at the factory, then they switch over to the Aldi boxes. Their ketchup is just Hunt's, their cheese crackers are Cheez Nips, etc.
Supposedly, that goes for all stores. My brother in law worked food services in Canada for YEARS. Much like many of the the "luxury" items are made in the same factories as the counterfeit/fake products. Also, Huggies makes the Kirkland brand diapers...same factory.

I’m a big Aldi fan! My husband is too and will only shop there! I’m a big baker, especially during the holidays! I especially love to shop there during the holidays because they have many “specialty” items that are only sold at that time of the year.
We love Aldis, too. Many of the items you got today, we get. There's a really good pineapple salsa that is really good. It's a shorter jar than you had with a yellow lid.
I switch completely to Aldies. Never feel bad. Kids don’t need the prepackaged over unhealthy snacks I buy the big bag of cookies their chocolate an vanilla I call them old time cookies lol. Then we put in baggies
I Love ALDIs! Kirsten you know Iam One of your Biggest Fans on here! And please don’t take what Iam about to say Offensive and if you do Iam Sorry! But I think the Children should have thier Very Own Birthday party it’s thier Own Special Day! Just my Opine! I know your gonna do what you want to do and that’s your Choice! But Iam Sure if you asked the two Oldest Girls they would Love having thier Own Special Day in Some Sorta Way?? Love you all!❤❤❤❤❤+🐶👶🏻
I agree with you that every child loves to feel special and their birthday should be THEIR day. My daughter has twins, a boy and a girl. Even though they have an exact same date for their birthday, there are two separate parties and two cakes.
We do a whole week of celebrating them on their actual birthdays. We get donuts, cakes, gifts, have family parties and take them out to dinner and fun activities. We just do one big party for the school friends because it’s so chaotic.
In the beginning, you mentioned they have no brand names, but the locations I've shopped at in Omaha/Bellevue have items that are brand names. I wonder if it varies based on location? They have great prices & the aisle with homegoods, kitchen gadgets, etc, never disappoints! And we almost always splurge & get some of the German candy!!!
LOVE plain organic whole milk Greek yogurt. Your sweet friend Amy Fritz turned me on to adding a little smooth pb and a tsp of baking cacao powder with just a drizzle of pure maple syrup. SO GOOD! Taste like chocolate pudding! * for "healthy ice cream, try whipping up pure havy cream with frozen berries.
Hey Kristen I heard that a tornado had touched down near Omaha Nebraska I'm just checking on you prayers sent your way for safe surroundings for your family and prayers for any others out there that may need them ✝️🤍🙏
LOVE Aldi....shop there every week and only go to the other stores to get what Aldi doesnt have. Produce is great and prices the best and lovely staff... we know some by name. My guilty pleasure is their garlic stuffed olives!
Love Aldis but sadly, closest one is 40 miles away but worth the trip. Thanks Kristen for the helpful tips. I am super impressed that you have taught your family to choose healthy over convenient or flashy. My grands are among the chicken nugget generation. I've tried to keep healthy options for their visits but isn't making much progress.
Hi Kristen..loved this because we love ALDIs and will try some of your ideas too. I am always amazed at how cheap stuff compared to others. I can not tell the difference in condiments. The cheeses are so good especially if you let it set out..,there white cheese round with cranberries is so good. I have not tried their coffee. I love So Good ..low sugar low carb yogurt from Walmart or Krogers. I put a drop of honey in it, I will try what you get. A little over a hundred dollars is not bad. And guess what I think whole milk is fine..My husband drinks a lot of milk and he won’t drink low fat milk. His cholesterol is perfect, as is his glucose. Happy eating and yes I pick up fire roasted often by mistake. You look beautiful as usual.. Oh do you like dates…such a good dessert . Their are a big bag for like four dollars. They are a good sweet treat. ❤❤❤❤
I do not have an Aldi anywhere near me, unfortunately, but always purchase supermarket brand foods (unless the famous brands are on special and work out cheaper!) I am sure the big named companies make it for them anyway! Here where I live in Canada, your are charged for brown paper bags (plastic have been banned) so a lot of shoppers take reusable ones.
Baby Spinach is healthier than lettuce. Lettuce is only water. I commend you on how much Fruits and Veges you serve your family! Your efforts to buy healthier foods is cool, too. 👏🙂 My friend buys his meat at Sam’s too. Horizon Organic Milk is our favorite milk. It’s on discount at Pick n Save sometimes. So, are their greens on discount as they get older. I love your wall art picture above your range. Can you sell it to me when you get tired of it? 😊
Since you live in Iowa I would highly recommend buying 1/2 cow from a local farmer and putting it in a deep freeze. It saves money and you will get better quality than Sam’s. It took me years to do this and my only regret is that I didn’t start earlier.
We have an Aldi just a mile away, my husband rides his bike there and picks up whatever we need. It is ike a neighborhood store with good prices and produce.
It would be a good idea to fill your sink with cool water and a little vinegar to was all the fruit, since it is out for eating. We have to accept everything we eat has pesticides on them now.
Hi Kristen, how is it that two of my favorite people put out a video in the same day? 😁 I just saw Amy Fritz’s video. Wow, what a grocery haul from Aldi! We love honey crisp and Granny Smith apples! I’m like your girls.I like cream cheese on a blueberry bagel. These are healthy choices! Enjoyed the video!
I love ALDIs. Their cheese selection is great too. I always grate it myself if possible but they have some grass fed cheese options too. The unsweetened applesauce is honestly sweet enough for me. I also love blending the strawberries with the Greek yogurt to have natural strawberry flavored yogurt. I’ve always thought of fruit as nature’s candy. I think it’s great you use it as snacks rather than all the processed junk I had growing up. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious & we had it in moderation but it’s good to make sure kids like Whole Foods too. I love the sacks you use for the potatoes & the idea of frying tortillas with avocado oil.
So, if It's a Simply Nature product, you make a point to always say "Simply Nature" and for other products you rarely even say the brands. You've made a great video, but I will say that part way into your video, this became quite annoying. And, unless all your Simply Nature products were FREE, no way did you spend "just a little over $100" for all of those products.
I love your videos! I should have known better than to watch this grocery haul…I am no ravenously hungry! Off to Aldi I go! Thank you for your sweet and humble spirit!
Hello. FYI, frying tortillas is common in México, but you know they are not actually raw right? The corn is cooked, then turned into flour, shaped into tortillas, and cooked on a comal (sort of a grill). So, not actually raw.
Just know that Aldi will not disclose as to whether or not they use Apeel on their produce. "Apeel is a new plant-based protection that was developed in order to help keep produce stay fresh for longer. It achieves this by coating the outside of all fruits and vegetables with proprietary chemicals that slow down water loss and oxidation. Apeel is marketed as a thin, plant-based, edible peel that coats fresh produce, acting similarly to the plant’s cuticle layer. The postharvest coating may sound like a wonderful invention at first glance with the mission to help minimize food and plastic waste in plant food production, but once you look into the ingredients, discover the fact that it can’t be washed off, and also has many other concerns, you may want to reconsider."
I get all my meat from Sam’s Club and I find that it’s more economical to buy it from there. I get more for my money. At the beginning of the month. I have my meat for the month! I love Sam’s. I love your grocery haul. You said you bought all this for under $100 dollars. I would have liked if you put the prices up.
Cut up/dice up the onions, seal wwell, and freeze. Good for soups or mix with hamburger for sauces, meatloaf, etc. When lemon and limes start aging out, squeeze the juice out of the fruits and freeze it.
HAPPY SUNDAY Kristen, family, and fur baby. Thanks for the grocery haul and your reasons you buy what you buy. I like Aldi too. I love your outfit. STTB
We have Aldi in the Uk too but i'm actually surprised by how much bigger and how much more variety there is in American Aldis- like the fruit and veg come in much smaller bundles and some of the foods i have never seen in our stores here, i'm lowkey jelly
Hopefully soon I should get all my own produce. I need to pull my potatoes. I need to pull my garlic. I should get zucchini and squash coming in real soon. Onions I need to pull what I have and start a new batch which I already have ready to start so a lot of that summer veggies I should have jalapeños bell peppers oh my God my bell peppers are big already I overwinteredto bushes and they’re really looking good. You know other countries bell peppers grow 5 feet tall like a tree and people have them as like a tree they can actually be the same for like four or five years. I’ve had a banana pepper for four years until this last freeze.
We have one opening next month and I’m so excited to go. Been watching Aldi hauls to see what to buy but it looks like I can’t go wrong with anything I try.
Hey Kristen, if your potatoes start to get a green tinge, from hanging in sunlight, please chuck them. The chemical created in them is bad for you. Better in a darker spot.
I live in Ontario Canada, our grocery bill for my family of 6 is $200 to $300 everytime I do the groceries. It's terrible ☹ I love how you store all your produce though!! I'm going to have to try to find a place to hang my potatoes and onions! I love watching you every week, you have such a beautiful family and home❤
When my onions start to go bad I dice them up and freeze them for soups and stuff like that
That's a great idea

I’m a big Aldi fan! My husband is too and will only shop there! I’m a big baker, especially during the holidays! I especially love to shop there during the holidays because they have many “specialty” items that are only sold at that time of the year.
It's so good!
I usually cut my onion & freeze them when I know I can’t use them all fresh! So good to cook for soup or sauces :) ❤
Kristen, I pray you did not experience any of those terrible storms today in the Midwest. 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😊❤️😊
I use to love Aldi but they just aren’t cheap here anymore. Walmart and Kroger’s store brands are just as cheap or cheaper now of days.
Processed foods are money sucks honestly. Buying whole foods and cooking from scratch cuts so many preservatives out and saves so much money.
These are almost the same things we buy weekly! I would love to see a video of “what we eat in a week” !
Great idea!!
I go to Aldi to stock up, love their fresh produce, and low all around prices.
Hi! Love this video, Bananas need to kept away from citrus, also I slice or dice onions before they go bad.
CAW-CAW from the aisle of shame!! I absolutely love Aldi ❤️
Yum!!
Thanks for sharing!!
By “Vitamin D milk” are you meaning whole milk? I think all milks are fortified with Vitamin D except raw milk sold privately.
Yes, that’s what I mean.
I don’t understand why you said you don’t eat snack and then say “this is my favorite snack”
I have been shopping there for over 30 years! thanks for sharing
It would be a good idea to fill your sink with cool water and a little vinegar to was all the fruit, since it is out for eating. We have to accept everything we eat has pesticides on them now.
I loveeeee Aldi! I like their Froot Loops better than the namebrand ones ~ along with many other products!
I just went to Aldi (Indiana) today and bought 8lbs of frozen chicken for $2.12 a pound! Frozen all beef hamburger patties? $2.50 a pound!!
ALDI it’s the walmart or target for EUROPEANS, I’m in shock that Americans TH-camrs do a haul about ALDI ?..
Good buy on the Red Berry cereal ! I find it usually has MORE strawberries than name brand Red Berry does !
We love Aldi's! They not only have great prices, but their "Aldi finds" are pretty amazing too. It is a fun place to shop!
I love the Aldi’s cereal with red berries. It’s very tasty and a lot cheaper than Walmart. A lot of times I will have it at night before bed.
HAPPY SUNDAY Kristen, family, and fur baby. Thanks for the grocery haul and your reasons you buy what you buy. I like Aldi too. I love your outfit. STTB
I love Aldi too!!🥰
We have Aldi in the Uk too but i'm actually surprised by how much bigger and how much more variety there is in American Aldis- like the fruit and veg come in much smaller bundles and some of the foods i have never seen in our stores here, i'm lowkey jelly
Can you share where to buy your hanging produce bags…I’ve only found the rustic basket kind that take up a lot of space. Thanks ❤️.
My favorite right now are their cosmic crisp apples.
So good!
Agree Aldi is affordable for those of us who want to save money and a bit financially challenged
I had all of my kids in the springtime, their birthdays were within 6 weeks of each other, so we did one big party also. Soooo much fun!!
I’m sitting here from Quebec and thinking man that would cost us about 300$ for all that.
A lot of Aldi groceries contain bioengineered food ingredients. 😬 That's why they're cheap.
I have an Aldi’s near me but I never shop there. I think I will pay them a visit!
I love ALDI hummus also
We have one opening next month and I’m so excited to go. Been watching Aldi hauls to see what to buy but it looks like I can’t go wrong with anything I try.
I like your lipstick color
Hey Kristen, if your potatoes start to get a green tinge, from hanging in sunlight, please chuck them. The chemical created in them is bad for you. Better in a darker spot.
Sounds like your Aldi prices are way cheaper then ours. I don't hardly shop there anymore!!
I really loved watching this! Id love to see more aldi hauls. 💚 juat found your channel yesterday and am loving the content.
I live in Ontario Canada, our grocery bill for my family of 6 is $200 to $300 everytime I do the groceries. It's terrible ☹
I love how you store all your produce though!! I'm going to have to try to find a place to hang my potatoes and onions! I love watching you every week, you have such a beautiful family and home❤
Wow!!
