Granny as a diabetic I use peanuts to keep me from wanting candies and cookies . They are good source of protein and low in carbs. Thanks for the post.
I'm with you on the scented cleaning products! My allergies go nuts with them. I use lots of the free and clear type laundry products and that helps a lot.
Hi Granny I’m glad you are doing good. It’s getting harder and harder to buy groceries. I wanted to buy eggs today and couldn’t because they wanted $9.00 for a dozen eggs, I’ll have to see if they have them on sale somewhere else. Happy New Year 2025 ❤
Hi Granny! Always good to see you. My.mother was a seamstress and ran her own Dress and Bridal shop for years. Guess what she used to get stains out of garments (particularly Bridal gowns)? Good old Ivory Soap. Put in on a cloth and from the center of the stain outwards. Cyber hugs for you and, please, a big old hug for Mr. Gizmo!❤🙏😸
I wanted to come back and tell you about a breakfast meal I’ve started making that is so good and very satisfying. It makes one individual serving. Breakfast Oatmeal Bake 1 banana, mashed 1 egg 1/3 cup oatmeal Optional add ins: 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/3 cup blueberries 1/4 cup of nuts 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a small oven safe dish with nonstick spray. (I use a 2-cup Corningware dish). 2. In a medium bowl, mix together the banana and egg, then pour in oatmeal and stir until well combined. 3. Add in any optional items and then pour into prepared dish. Bake for 25 minutes. 4. Let sit about 5 minutes, then take a metal spatula and get the “pancake” out of the dish and onto your plate. 5. Serve with syrup or jam. It’s like a thick pancake but more nutritious. I love it with pure maple syrup. ❤-Brenda
We kept the presents really light this year. I am 61, but I can wrap my own stuff ( bought with a 45% off coupon at c v s usually ) then be completely surprised as I open it. I'm not kidding I can shake it and everything and have totally blanked on what the heck it is. lol.
Merry Christmas! A day late but still counts.😂 Have you recently changed the cabin filter in your car? Regularly replacing that filter can really help with allergies. Your mechanic can tell you how often is recommended for the area you live, miles you drive and your car model. The $5 challenge was a good one. 💰😊
You have always done well on the $5.00 challenge. Let's all be healthier in the coming year! I am taking multivitamins to support my immune system . My husband is in a nursing home, and they have had two outbreaks since the fall, one of rhinovirus and the other of covid. They are in close quarters, so everything spreads quickly. Take care Granny. Happy New Year! ❤
We use a free and clear laundry soap and it works very good. We got so tired of allergy problems with the scented soaps so we switched several years ago. Now if I buy something from a thrift sale or a thrift store they reek of perfume scent from soaps so I have to wash them several times to get the smell out . I hang the articles of clothing outside also to help get rid of the smell. After this many years of using the new soap now the perfume smells make us feel ill. We switched to glass containers years ago also. We use pyrex glass bowls with covers of several different sizes, low pyrex glass pans with covers, canning jars from jelly size up to gallon size, and any other glass containers. Too bad that so many foods we buy come in plastic. Growing up I remember mayonaise and jams and jellies coming in glass along with peanut butter, pickles, fruits, and so many other things. We always seem to wonder why we get sick more and have so much more diseases around. Plastic is pourous and holds bacteria in it's tiny creves more than glass does.
I swear Granny- I think you and I channel each other. I love a T-bone once in a while and it is what I purchased for Christmas dinner for just my daughter and me.
I like those Green Giant veggies mixed in with scrambled eggs and cheese, gives a good kick start to the day...That's a good goal for the New Year, I probably need to do that too... Hugs~ Lea
At my store, if there is a sale of buy 1 get 1 free, you still pay the full price if you only get 1. So I always get 2 even if I don't want 2. If the sale is 2 for $3 and you buy 1, then you pay 1.50. I have to watch carefully how things are priced.
@countrygal3.....you still need to be careful on deals like 2 for 3.00 as alot of times you have to buy 2 or pay full price for just 1. Check the tags closely.
Those mini cucumbers are my favorite veggie but lately I’m finding that they are starting to get slimy before I can finish the bag…😢 Looking forward to seeing your journey for getting rid of toxins in the house. ❤-Brenda
The plastic thing is so frustrating. I got rid of all plastic years ago and then reincorporated some of it back in. I thought, why am I doing this when everything I buy from the store comes in plastic! Yogurt, sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, peanut butter, corn starch, pie shells, medications, etc. and even the peanuts in your video. Now i use glass for some foods that leach and hard plastic for other storage. I am totally on board with the sprays and cleaners! I have made my own for many years. Looking forward to seeing how you change it up in 2025!
Glad you got my card. I like that you share mail and gifts you receive Sound like your Christmas was nice. Have a happy new year!!! 🙏 Hope your car is fixed soon and not a lot of $$🙏
You are so right! I thought I was safe buying breaded scallops from Sam's Club. They did not heat up right, even cooking longer than directions. Later on, I was reading the box. Bioengineered!
This morning, I saw a thing about plastic eating in plastic containers, like the oven pot pies things like that or whatever even the stuff that you buy at the stores are not good for you and that you think you can reuse some of those plastic containers. they said it’s worse the leaching out when you heat it up so I’m really got a watch. I had switched all my Tupperware stuff to Glass and I’ve been using mason jar since Covid so we switch to Glass And then of course if I can get paper plates for when the kids come over so I don’t have to wash too many dishes I’ll do paper not Styrofoam .,paper
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. My understanding is they just changed the names from GMO to bioengineered. That may include other alterations in our food we’ll never hear about unless we stay on top of it.
If it has any corn products, soy in it. It was bioengineered. About all prepackaged food is bioengineered. The crops are sprayed with chemicals like round up. Best food to buy is organic and cook from scratch. Buy Nothing prepackaged. No red, yellow food coloring either. It hard to find good food unless it homegrown.
Not everything is bad. In drought countries they prevent starvation. They are more resistant to pests. "Organic" is the new buzz word now and the prices are too high.
Started cleaning with vinegar, baking soda and salt ( no bleach) . Still have to wear rubber gloves as the vinegar can irritate my skin . Boiling orange skins from my tree instead of using a plug in . So far my family says the house smells just as clean 🤞😊
I got a quiet Christmas, just mom and me, my daughters and their families saw my ex husband's family and they had a great time, eating, opening gifts playing pranks and Christmas games!!!
The news even mentioned that all the Teflon cookware was bad use cast-iron or ceramic or glass or stainless steel and also the utensils that you cook with them Teflon utensils they’re telling us they’re bad I’m like wow I use wooden spoons and I use stainless steel but I have some Teflon spoons. I might have to get rid of. I’m trying to do a change as well.
It's 27 December it's me and my 27 year old twins daughter day after boxing day it was church my twin daughters and family friend for Christmas coming of all excitement of christmas
Yes, I’m doing pecans some nuts and fruit that I do check but also I heard yes that the government is trying to fight the ones that sell all that red number is it number three or number five one of them is really really bad you know in the UK they don’t allow a lot them food coloring the way we have them here. I’m trying to clean that up, so I’m just drinking water with lemon maybe a light tea with no sugar hardly no sugar do a lot of honey and very little honey… Just doing the sodas now, I wasn’t drinking a lot of sodas, but it doesn’t matter they add up. I lost 17 pounds and my cholesterol is great now the doctor said she’s proud of me and I can tell I lost the 17 pounds in my clothing. My kids even told me people tell me all the time and I just make sure I just drink the water water water.
It's cheaper to purchase chicken gizzards, cook them up and freeze them for doggie treats. My GSD doesn't "receive" store bought dog treats nor manufactured dry kibble(to many expensive vet visits and meds that didn't address to what was causing her issues) I finally figured it all out and for 3 yrs she's been fed a turkey or chicken(both meats bought on sale and frozen turkeys bought in bulk while at .49 per lb) with boiled egg, veggies and some rice. MUCH cheaper than dog "food". Every night she lets me know when it's time for a palm size piece of frozen liver(B12). Other than anal gland expressing and toenail clipping she's been vet/med free for 3 yrs now.

Thank you! It may have been a difficult challenge but I think it has helped us a lot. New way of thinking and planning.
Thank you for talking about healthier snack choices and all the best for the year ahead ❤

Granny can you show the viewers a picture of your dog?
Granny, those treats were making my dog ill with bad allergies. Check the ingredients!

@@paulawinstead5660 What is GSD?
@@dawn.hoffman I'm sorry. Its short for German Shepherd.
@@paulawinstead5660 Thank you. No need to apologize. I’m just not familiar with many abbreviations. 😊
