Great review, but you seem super harsh on performance, from reviews I’ve seen and comparisons it seems to have very similar performance to the regular S24 and actually better here and there because it’s underclocked & less throttled, so I’m slightly confused
In my usage it behaved exactly as expected given an 2400e x 8gb ram. Sure it's possible to push for example genshin at 60fps, or 20 chrome tabs - but I consistently ran into small glitches like: longer loading times, random app or window restarts.
@ Ah thanks for the info, I just realised you’re in the US aren’t you? That might be why it came across to me that you don’t think it’s as good value when you have a snapdragon in the regular S24 & 24 plus and we get Exynos in those models, in the UK the performance drop is less between the FE & pricier models
I always need to understand the FE, as it is generally released when the current flagship is nearing end-of-life. For instance, the S24 Plus can be bought at resellers (open box) for £600. The S24FE is £650 in the UK but can be purchased for £450 in an open box. I would easily pay the £150 extra for the Galaxy S24 Plus, mainly for the extra RAM, non-Exynos, superior cameras, and higher base storage. So, as reasonable as it is, I would recommend paying extra for the superior S24+.
Great point here☝️ - I do still appreciate the existence of the FE lineups - yeh Samsung's competing with itself to an extent but also with other affordable options thus bringing prices down more or at least keeping the "affordable" phones affordable. Generally as we saw with One plus what started as the affordable flagship killer became what it tried to destroy.
@@ChilledFossilofficial Yes, it will sell well at carriers, and the sticker price in stores will be persuasive for non-techies. As yearly past sales prove, it is well worth a place in the lineup.
From someone that used to be a Samsung user but then move to Vivo. I kinda miss One UI and Galaxy Gift but the fast charge on Vivo V series is much faster hehe with larger battery 🔋 and ROM 512 gb. The front face camera is also greater in details. I will go back to Samsung again if the price drop but for S24 Ultra or S25 Ultra
I went with this phone over the iPhone 16 + it's a good phone I don't really have any problems with it. The vibration moder could be better as I am missing calls because it's not that strong but other then that I love the phone and got it on sale well .....I should say miss marked to 399 it looks like that's what it's going to be on black Friday 🤷 but for that price it's an unbelievable phone

You're right about that in daily usage there's a sharp contrast between the 2 chipsets
The only considerbale thing about that price is the 7 years update so ig that's a good thing
And hardware* it's seriously good! Just held back a bit by 2400ex8gb
AI Call assistant works on the phone, offline, without the cloud.

Yeh the fast charging on some of these brands is real - not so for samsung or apple yet.
