One of the main things that I love about this channel is that you don't stage things or make them up for a video. You are legit. You also care about your animals and your subscribers not that many people do. They care about the fame instead of the viewers. But you definitely care a lot about your people. I look forward to watching your channel for a while.

As sad as the loss is I'm actually quite happy someone with a big following such as yourself tested the theory even if it did prove to fail, at least we now know for certain that you probably shouldn't be keeping H.Gigas communally. I wouldn't say the communal setup FAILED, I would say that the limit of Hysterocrates gigas in one enclosure is about 9 per that amount of space, at their current size (It would drop further as they got bigger). If the enclosure was twice as big, you might've ended up with 18 living tarantulas.

H.gigas is primarily fossorial. If you wanted to keep them communally, there should of been a lot deeper substrate. My communal (before I serarated for breeding) was a 40 gal tank filled 3/4 of the way with substrate. They build elaborate, deep tunnels. Each of my mature females are in 20gal tanks. Filled most of the way with substrate. Never had issues if they all had enough tunnel space.
