Great video, thanks. Along with my "blue thing" side by side, I have a 1998 Arctic Cat 454 Bearcat that is having similar issues. I'm more confident now to rip into the carb.
Gotta love those free wheelers! Neighbor gave me a 97 Polaris Sportsman 500 that turned out to be a decent machine but the 4WD never worked. Rotella T6 is full syn. and way cheaper in the gallon jug than quarts of specialty motorcycle oil. It's perfectly fine for wet clutches, too. Not a good idea to drill jets. Just buy new ones. They're very precise and the drill bit won't hold the tolerance very well.
Oh ok! Thanks man for the oil tips, definitely going to get some of that next time. The jet thing we just kinda did it because we thought it was on the lean side because the it didn't feel that powerful, but oh well its a learning experience for all of us isn't it!
Have the 300 4x4 and had the same issue . It was the rubber diaphragm in the top of carburetor. It was dry rotted and leaking vacuum and not pulling the needle up when applying the throttle
Just unbolt the top mount, wiggle it around and out to the side and it should come off, then lift the battery out with the top point out first. That's how I did it on mine.
I just got one of the ones that came up on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Carburetor-Arctic-0470-448-Carb-2001/dp/B07T82PRPW/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1XYHM1EZRI1HF&keywords=2002+arctic+cat+300+carburetor&qid=1678836729&sprefix=2002+arctic+cat+300car%2Caps%2C218&sr=8-5
@@IngenGarage Thanks man appreciate it. buying a 300 2x4 this weekend and the dude said it idles fine but when you put it in gear it sputters. do you think the carb is the issue?
@@Chayton_Witham Yeah it could be, but I would check the plug and maybe replace the coil and CDI but do one step at the time so will know what the problem is. Mine does sputter a bit and I know its the carburetor but I have done all I can to adjust it. The older late 90s Arctic cat 300 models have the same engine and trans but a different style of carb I believe so maybe in the future I might try that on this one. Good luck with that ATV lol hopefully my video gave ya some tips!
Just the factory carb replacement off of amazon. I saw a different style on the ones made in the late 90s with the same motor so I might find that one. Mainly the pilot jet is slightly too rich and needs the next size smaller cuz of the spitting and sputtering. I you know of any other carbs then let me know!
Do any of yall have one of these 4-wheelers with the same issues or different issues, lmk lol!
Chinese carb is always junk even tho they look perfect they are far from it oem is the only proper way to fix it
Just started servicing this same arctic cat and your video is really helpful, thanks man!
No problem 👍
Good job. Same Arctic cat I have. These machines are extremely reliable, fun and good workhorses around the property. Have fun, and keep it running.

Oh wow, did it run like it should when you fixed it?
Legend says if you take off the sector of the front diff, rotate it back by 3 notches, you'll ha e 4WD lock.
Yeah I heard about that on the 4WD models, unfortunately this is only the 2WD version but if I had the 4WD version I would totally do that mod!
I am looking at an Artic car 300 and CFmoto 400. I think you talked me into the CFmoto.
Oh ok, is it a brand new one or are you going to buy an older one?
how in the heck do I get the battery out of this model? Anybody got a how to video??

so did you do a aftermarket carb? and if so can you post the link?

what is that thing connected to the air box?
Like an extra intake tube to hold tools and make the opening higher.
What carb did you put in it?

HEY KID how do you take the seat off ?????????? LMAO
There is a lever on the right side you pull.
