Last week my chihuahua mix ate 4 dinner rolls worth of raw bread dough. Thankfully I saw one of these vet shows that covered that topic and knew it was serious and even though I got her to vomit up most of the dough we needed to get her to the vet hospital. She had some dough and the gas the yeast created stuck in her stomach so it was very very distended and the vet used a nasal tube to rinse cool water to try and break up the bubbles, then suctioned the stomach contents out. They did this overnight a few times and placed an IV to correct blood issues and hydrate her. She did get some alcohol effects and I brought her home the next day while she was still recovering. It wasn’t until I saw a video in this series that I learnt that dough in a dogs stomach could be fatal and it’s alcohol poisoning that would be the cause. That’s crazy!! This series is so informative for pet owners and pet owners to be. Well done!!👏🏻👏🏻🥰💗
If you this kind of dog you have to wash his ears and cut the hair inside his ears frequently. The veterinarian should show them how to do it..by the way I love your new hair
Yes I agree. I think they should've done a bit more research about how to take care of this kind of dog with the long hair. But its also the vets responsibility to inform as well. And I think the breeders should be educating their customers too. These Doodle breeds require a lot of special care and maintenance...more so than people realize. Then they buy the dog cause its cute, and it doesnt shed, they dont take of all its needs and then the dog suffers.
People need to do some basic research on animals before they get pets, dogs might not smell amazing but they shouldn't stink to high heaven that's a huge sign that something is wrong
Ye, imo no matter the animal, no matter how common the species or breed is. Research, research, research. It is so important that with out it, you may not be able to properly care for whatever animal it is, plus it dogs learning what the breed was bred for can allow you to better exercise them, learn what disadvantages size breed has that sort of thing. I just think the ear thing is so obvious to anyone who has baked, owned or just researched dogs or is even into a bit of science would know yeast is a bacteria which will breed like nuts in dirt long, haired, floppy dog ears poor baby he had to put up with that for at least a month if not more since a month can only be said based off of want the woman said and she could either be lying or just hadn't noticed sooner. Just my view on it, but research is important no matter the animal; dogs, cats, reptiles, amphibians, birds, even invertebrates like bugs research just makes caring for the animal so much easier and rules out a lot of guessing when it comes to any part of caring for the animal (exercise, feeding, attention etc etc)
On the 6th day of owning my new puppy I noticed that his ears were smelly and he kept scratching them, the next day I took him to the vet and after treatment they were back to normal in no time. I felt so horrible that he had to endure any time at all with the discomfort of an ear infection. I cannot believe it took these people that long to even take their dog to the vet when they knew something was wrong 😫
no kidding good lord!! once a couple years ago my dog ran thru rain puddles and about 4 days later he really started to itch and a bad odor like raw meat and stinky gym socks times 100%... my mom due to working in nursing home care she had a ear looker thing and we saw a tiny twig in his ear... we used tweezers to pull it off, used lots of ear cleaner and antibiodic spray on the ears and 2 days later he was fine... holly shoot does a ear infection reek whooeee!!
I know this may not matter to most of us but I really loved Kate's beautiful long curly hair. Of course she is still drop dead gorgeous.....and a wonderful vet.

Hendrix’s owners seem caring and thankfully they recognized he had something not normal going on. But they also seem like repeat offenders that I’m sure will be back- not totally them since doodles or any dog with floppy down turned ears are more susceptible to ear probs.
Those dog owners should have taken the dog to the vets much earlier, and it should be common sense that a long haired dog like that needs proper grooming and the hairs plucked / trimmed inside its ears.
My mum always says sense is not common and they proved it. All this is basic stuff that comes up when you search 'taking care of a dog' but obviously they didn't see the need to

7:42 when we had my dogs ears cleaned they sedated him and got deep in to the ear canal and was able to dig out the debris and give them a good cleaning, they also gave him a teeth cleaning and a shave that took his winter coat off for the summer, when the ear hair started to grow back, i would trim the ear hair to allow air to get get in and help keep things dry, i would also spray his ears with rubbing alcohol to help keep them clean, i didn't know this hurt him, i knew he didn't like it, i did this once a week, later on i learned that it should have ben a combination of alcohol, peroxide and water, i am surprised that the doctor didn't do some thing like this to hendrix, those ears need a deep cleaning and a good shave, inside and out side of the ear.
All you people having a go at Hendricks owners need to watch again. They said they already had him on ear drops but thought they weren’t getting the drops down properly, maybe. The vet also said putting the ‘wrong’ drops down was making the situation worse. They already to him to another vet obviously and he was misdiagnosed. They love that dog, you don’t have to go to doggy medical school to be a pet owner. I think they did the best they could with the information and knowledge they had.
My mother use to raise dogs. A few old timer remedies she used included taking a cotton ball soaked in apple cider vinegar and putting it deep in the dogs eat and massaging it around, then take the cotton ball out. Put a new clean cotton ball soaked into apple cider vinegar and repeat. Keep repeating until cotton ball comes out clean. This will also help the dog to not have ear infections. My mom use to put a tablespoon of white vinegar in her dogs water bowl. This not only helps the dog to never have fleas, it helps the dogs internal organs and makes their coat shine. It's also helps the dog to have good clean teeth!! Try these safe for your pet and the environment remedies!! They really work..
How are they not aware that it was an infection? People if your dog is scratching at his ears more than a few times a day there's something serious going on with the ear! But if it smells, then there is something SERIOUSLY wrong!!! And ear aches are horrendously uncomfortable!!! And give him a bath please

🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 67 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼...
Hendrix's parents were neglectful. The poor guy needs a good grooming and more focused/informed care. His parents took him to the vet ONLY AFTER he kept them awake scratching. So sad.
Terri Bowles another vet gave them drops
They were too busy having fun at the beach all weekend.
I get ear infections every time I go swimming so I definitely know how this dog feels and mine get really severe
And it hurts soo bad😨
It wasn’t until I saw a video in this series that I learnt that dough in a dogs stomach could be fatal and it’s alcohol poisoning that would be the cause. That’s crazy!!
This series is so informative for pet owners and pet owners to be. Well done!!👏🏻👏🏻🥰💗
If you this kind of dog you have to wash his ears and cut the hair inside his ears frequently. The veterinarian should show them how to do it..by the way I love your new hair
going from context, the dog always had bad ears with them and whoever had the dog prior wasn't caring to fix it or warn them of it
Yes I agree.
@@prcervi thats what I was thinking, hearing how they thought thats was how the ears were supposed to look like
@@prcervi Well they say the dog always had bad ears. We will never know
People need to do some basic research on animals before they get pets, dogs might not smell amazing but they shouldn't stink to high heaven that's a huge sign that something is wrong
Thank you to all of the vets!!!
Why didn’t they notice the smell of the ears
no kidding good lord!! once a couple years ago my dog ran thru rain puddles and about 4 days later he really started to itch and a bad odor like raw meat and stinky gym socks times 100%... my mom due to working in nursing home care she had a ear looker thing and we saw a tiny twig in his ear... we used tweezers to pull it off, used lots of ear cleaner and antibiodic spray on the ears and 2 days later he was fine... holly shoot does a ear infection reek whooeee!!
They did. They said they noticed the bad smell but the cleaning stuff they used got rid of the smell a bit. They definitely knew but didn't care 🤦♀️
❤🙏❤ Thank you for saving lives
edwin is a gorgeous cat. he’s so pretty
If you had a broken arm how long would you wait to get it mended, not long , animals are no different glad the dog got the ears managed awesome
That first dogs owners should have taken him in earlier instead of leaving it until he was going mad with it poor thing
Wait... "He's staying away from the water... For now." But he's drenched in the photo... 🤨
maybe he had a bath.
@@elainelucas8097 they were at the beach
I love the follow up pictures!! How nice to see what the results of the visit are!
poor baby...why did they wait sooo long!! Hope they learn...could you imagine if they left their child like that....
I knew that dog with the itchy ears had a fungal/yeast infection.
I was thinking maybe ear mites, but fungal/yeast makes sense too.
it was going to be that or mites, neither is good
If you watch a dog grooming site they always show having to pull the hair in the ears to keep them from not getting infected.
Could be bacterial as well.
It’s the title of the video, so... duh
That lady w rocket was soo kind and compassionate!
I want a cat just like Edwin. He’s amazing.
Ragdolls…..love them, they are like no other.
Great long episode's love the family picture hope he's ears get better soon.scott so nice to see him hi to all vet's bondi vet .
Thank you for helping the animals. Keep up the good work.
Huge fan of your work ...love the way you handle the pet....u love ur job
Love Hendrix. He’s such a good boy. And IMO she shouldn’t have shamed him for his ear smell. 🤣
The shear ignorance of hendrix’s parents makes me mad, they don’t deserve him
Have they ever had him groomed? They have done 0 ear maintenance on this dog
@@MB-nv4to clearly clueless dog owners
@@ebbss4 clearly. They spend more time at the beach than paying attention to their dog.
@@MB-nv4to oh yeah. People think it’s cute and fun to own a dog but people don’t realize the work it takes to own them
Idk why but I adore Bondi vet
I love Lisa and Chris and Scott
Edwin is an absolute Sweetheart!
Edwin acts just like my cat coconut did. She even gave little kisses , I miss her very much 😞
Anyone else wondering why they left it a month to get him seen??? 👀
Omg when that lady heard her dog had yeast in his ears she immediately said “vegemite lol”
For goodness sake he's been feeling that for an entire month?! This poor baby
I know this may not matter to most of us but I really loved Kate's beautiful long curly hair. Of course she is still drop dead gorgeous.....and a wonderful vet.
That poor dogs ears! I don't want to bash the owners but it is really sad that they couldn't recognize the major signs and waited so long to take him in :(
Hendrix is staying away from the water as they show him soaking wet in a picture LOL
Gotta get that hair plucked out So The air can circulate better in them funky ears.
I had to go back to see what was in the fish tank in Dr. Scott’s office 😂 those are some good looking angelfish!
How the hell is he a veterinarian, but allergic to long haired cats?
Imagine having muddy dirty water in your ears, and not being able to clean them out
Edwin has beautiful eyes. All the girl cats must faint at his passing.😍
I love you helping
Hello, we really need to thank you BONDI VET, and all Humans working there
including the Volunteers. At this time we are unable to live with dogs,
Therefore we are having our desire for a dog are living through your
VLOGS, including all animals featured in your VLOGS
Thanks 💃🙋💃👏🙋🙏🙏🆗
Hendrix’s owners seem caring and thankfully they recognized he had something not normal going on. But they also seem like repeat offenders that I’m sure will be back- not totally them since doodles or any dog with floppy down turned ears are more susceptible to ear probs.
Hopefully the vet has educated them on what to keep an eye out for ear wise, I feel like they are first time pet owners.
They didn't realise FOR A MONTH. 😐
An asthmatic cat! Wow I learned something new
Those dog owners should have taken the dog to the vets much earlier, and it should be common sense that a long haired dog like that needs proper grooming and the hairs plucked / trimmed inside its ears.
My mum always says sense is not common and they proved it. All this is basic stuff that comes up when you search 'taking care of a dog' but obviously they didn't see the need to
They don't show operations, but they show dogs vomiting.
Who better to be the owner of a cat with such bad asthma than an ENT....prayers Edwin feels better soon.
Most pets don't normally smell bad. If they do, there's probably something that needs investigating.
Oh i felt so sorry fot the kitty :(
the cat really scared me for I moment I stopped breathing and went cold omg.... I can't imagine what I would do if it happened to my cats, but they are getting old... this cat really got bad luck poor him
I really enjoy this show, but i find myself getting incredibly emotional every time an animal stops breathing. Our puppy stopped breathing while recovering from an emergency surgery a month ago, and never came back 💔
So sorry you lost your puppy. I lost mine recently and it’s just so heartbreaking. No words can express the pain.
Shame on the Owners
waiting so long. Pretty disgusting on their part.
Jennifer whitehouse they treated him themselves with drops given by another vet watching the video all the way is good
I love dr Scot Miller i sometimes see him on british tv programmes listening to him answer pet owners questions and i sometimes i can't help cry when i hear about animals being hurt tame or maimed because they are all so innocent i had a Guinea pig when when i younger but never replaced because it turned out me my brother and dad all have asthma i would love to meet dr scott Miller in person to say thanks
They were pretty ignorant tho 😬
I just used apple cider vinegar diluted with water to clean my dogs ears. It worked well.
Edwin is a beautiful cat such a gorgeous face and coloring
3:47 do we legit need a dog -owner licence ? Like dafuq did you expect ??
How are they not aware that it was an infection? People if your dog is scratching at his ears more than a few times a day there's something serious going on with the ear! But if it smells, then there is something SERIOUSLY wrong!!! And ear aches are horrendously uncomfortable!!! And give him a bath please
I wondered how they were going to get Edwin to take an inhaler, lol. Beautiful cat.
I love how dogs will eat stuffing but wont accept a single pill
My dog had a similar ear problem but all he needed was a regular cleaning and some ear cream and he was good
