Thank you for explaining this. I have my first poodle and have been debating what to tell my groomer about ear plucking. It doesn’t seem cruel at all. Better than having hair grow down the canal.
Great tip about cupping the ears to create a channel. Thanks! Diamond's ears are similar to my boy doodle; and while he has fewer nodules than Diamond; his ears have deep fissures, and hence he requires a lot of cleaning maintenance. EcoEars is all natural so I can see why it would be a good choice. I was able to overcome yeast with my boy dog, but it isn't easy. He would have the same brown yeasty discharge as Diamond. This is what I did: I used Zymox Enzymatic Solution with Hydrocortizone (.5%) according to instructions. Buy the 1.5 oz bottle, and use all of it - again, according to instructions. Yeast came back a couple of weeks after the first round of action, and another round of Zymox eventually cleared out the last of yeast foothold. Even the vet sometimes cannot fix yeast problem in dogs; its tenacious once it has foothold! Flushing with Oxyfresh "Paws Down" is now working as a prophylaxis maintenance action. It's been over a year now, and no brown discharge. But if I get a whiff of smell - he immediately gets they Oxyfresh treatment. Oxyfresh isn't organic, but it is has prevented the return of yeast. Granted, I'm only a sample size of one, but procedure might work for Diamond, or your viewer's dogs as well - especially if they are desperate to eliminate a yeast foothold.
Yeast and other skin conditions is related to diet as well. Diet and allergies…could be allergic to something in their food, or even grass…but regular grooming is mandatory for poodles and other dogs who have longer hair. Also supplements will help with coat/skin issues too…but once again…that’s all related to diet.
Sorry to be off topic but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Graham Caspian thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Clean first, and wait. That's young to have any real issue. You can try to pull the hair up and out, and scissor trim.....but I would not be plucking at this age
@BigRockLabradoodles makes sense. Have cleaned twice so far but with his hair and lack of cooperation it's been very hard to get a good deep cleaning. Appreciate the reply 🙏
I’ve seen other videos were groomers pluck the dogs hair out of the ears and I thought it was so cruel. Your the first one that showed how and explained why it needs to be done. My 19 month old doodle has really think hair … thank you for educating me! Also could I just use baby powder to pluck the hair?
I think those instrument you were talking about is called a hemostat (I am not quit sure) but they have a blunt end & they can grab the hair with no problem. You did a good job. I was surprised that you & the other lady were not wearing shoes in your shop.
My poodle grows lots of hair deep in the ear canal, however it doesn't come out easily like this. She yelps when you try to pluck it like if you pulled hair on her leg. I have started using my 10 blade while grooming to get as much air flow around the ear. She has ears like diamonds so have to be very careful. Is there anything else I can do to loosen that hair? I don't think she is just being a sook because you can see the skin pulling upwards.
Poodles have small ear canals and, yes, a lot of hair that grows down th3 ear cabal trapping large clumps of wax. My poodle is very difficult to pull, too. I use surgical gloves along with the plucking powder for extra grip. When I pull, I want to make sure I get it!! I get big globs of wax out of my poodle's ears...way more then my doodles. I pull, treat, pull, treat...good luck!!!
It depends on your dog. A dog like Diamond, I need to clean her ears every couple of weeks. I only clean Hera's ears when I groom her. Plucking, everytime they are groomed.
My pup is 51/2 mos had to have antibiotics for yeast and debris already. How old is diamond? My pup now doesn’t want to even let us look in his ears now.
Thanks ❤I love how you really show how to do this. Thanks 🙏

Thank you for sharing I appreciate the information I'm having this problem now with my Shih Tzu's.

Thank you for the tutorial!
Thank you.
Hi would you want to wash out the ear first and then pluck the hair? Or the other way around? Thx!!
Pluck first
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
That was very helpful, followed your procedure and it went well. Thanks
Thanks for saying they may shake more throughout the day, I was worried I'd done something wrong and feel better now.

@Valentin Leonel happy to help :)
Thank you! Can you do a video of trimming the body and legs too?
I have! Look at my channel tutorials
This was great! My baby didn’t like it, but he will get used to it eventually. Thank you!
Awesome video😃. Thanks sooooo much😃
Nice video
Oh my Goodness! SIX? SIX?!? Woah! That’s an awful lot of puppies for a little Mama Chi-Hua-Hua!👍😊✌️
If he startles and jumps and pulls away is it hurting?
What is the name of the products you used from Amazon for the cleaning and plucking? It was hard to see the names on the bottles.
You make the plucking seem easy lol
Maybe open ears can be selectively bred for?
Excellent. Thanks!
You're welcome!
It does hurt when you pull out with the hemostats
Got a 3 month old labradoodle with very hairy/dirty ears. Is this safe to do on him?

Clean daily until its clear. Make sure youre using a cleaner with a drying agent. @andrewscott5179
@@BigRockLabradoodles how old would you say is safe to begin plucking? 6 months or a year?

Glad I could help! No, baby powder would not give you the grip you need.

Is this downstairs from a square dance hall?
She literally said the washer was going
Omg, my girl has a yeast issue and we are trying to figure out the food. Also her ears! They're the same lol
May I know What colour is she? She is beautiful!
She is lavender
You are 👍!
Small hemostat is the tool you used to pluck hair out.
No, haemostats are blunt. The scissors used here are curved and sharp edged. Dangerous in other words.
@@jannys7707 Go back and rewatch it again they were blunt ended even though they were curve.
How often should this be done?

Get a muzzle if he is bitty. It makes it safer for you and a buddy to hold the dog.
Thank you for your help! My doodle was making my crazy with shaking!!😊
Wow I have the same dog with the same name😂❤
👍💜😁
Mosquito hemostat
