Something I really appreciate is the transition of area themes in Genocide. The Ruins music is the same, because you haven’t made your choice yet. Then, whenever the kill count is exhausted, you’re hit with But Nobody Came, a haunting song to remind you of your sins. Snowy and Waterfall are incredibly unsettling, downright creepy at times, fitting that feeling you get that things aren’t right. Then Another Medium and CORE are just empty, the exact feeling that you’re left with as you approach the ending.
Snowy and Snowdin are kind of sad-sounding to be honest, mourning the deaths of all the monsters you've killed. In My Way, Waterfall, Quiet Water and But Nobody Came are downright creepy and disturbing. Once you reach Another Medium and The CORE the game's basically given up trying to stop your murderous rampage.
I agree with this so much! Like at first the game is like: Okay, killing a couple, okay! *But Nobody Came* Game: Hey you're at Snowdin! Maybe spare Papyrus? *But Nobody Came* Game: Okay look you're at Waterfall, spare Monster Kid please. *But Nobody Came* Game: Look, I am starting to give up, please spare SOMEONE, ANYONE here! *20 Left* Game: You still have a chanc- *But Nobody Came* Game: *. . .*
The game continuously tries to get you to quit until the very end The most noticeable one at the end is when Flowey is scared of you, saying that this isn't a good idea anymore. Even when you kill Sans, his final words addressed to you are the final warning you get: *"Don't say I didn't warn you."*
When you encounter Madjick and Knight Knight together, it says "Mercenaries appear from the shadows." On a Genocide run, it should say "Heroes appear from the shadows."
+dsmaster7173 Toby Fox is the guy who made Undertale. Not sure if that was clear in the game. He was making a nod to how Toby makes a big deal of great ideas when it comes to monsters.
It's very interesting, right. At this point, it isn't a fight. Your power looms so far above those you slaughter, there isn't really any tension. It's almost boring, and definitely tedious. You're doing a job, and moving on.
It just makes me feel tired listening to it. There's nothing left to offer you in this world and you just end up killing everyone out of boredom. Eerie to think about.
The CORE. A labyrinth of traps and puzzles, mercenaries around every corner. Not only the crowning achievement of the nebulous Gaster, but also his grave. A machine converting geothermal energy into power for all the Underground, supplying electricity to an entire civilization. The final obstacle to overcome, the last challenge to surmount. Its track is frenetic, scalding and hot to the touch, but imbued with steely, uncompromising determination. But you chose a different path. Now the flames have died. The embers have cooled. The CORE is no longer the final chapter in a long, arduous journey. It's just one more area to cleanse. There's only 35 left. And it's so cold.
Out of all Genocide themes, this is probably my favorite. Something about the genocide themes sound... ill. In my opinion, this theme is the perfect example of that. When you enter this place, there's probably only a few monsters left. The Monster Kingdom is completely sick if you by now, now standing on its last legs. Almost all energy has been sucked out of it. Remember when you first entered this area and was accompanied by energetic music that even carries on during battles? That felt incredibly epic! However, this song is now not so energetic anymore. But still, it carries on during the battles instead of being replaced with the upbeat Enemy Approaching theme. This is important. Despite its illness, the game still does what it is supposed to do. You have almost completely exhausted the game's kill counter, it does not want to go on anymore. Yet, it still does. This tells you what you have done.
I feel like that this part when you're killing the monsters in the Core, Flowey is simultaneously taking out all the monsters that are hiding in the True Lab (after Alphys helped them escape), since Flowey shows up right after the Core, with a "the job is done" sort of attitude. Pretty eerie.
That's creepy to think about, but I don"t think Flowey would be able to take on them. He isn't THAT strong. (Besides, Flowey states that he is weaker than Asgore, so I don"t think he could take on a hundred monsters by himself.)
This profile picture is totally not original 1. He does have that attack where he surrounds you in a circle of pellets which is inescapable. 2. He has killed every monster in the underground before in his other timelines, and has stated to have fought against "smiley trashbag" 3. Asgore most likely destroys Flowey's FIGHT button, seeing as he can destroy your MERCY button, and Flowey is a monster, not a human.
I love how as you continue going down the genocide route, the music goes from creepy, to sad, to downright apocalyptic. By this point, the game knows there's absolutely nothing the monsters can do to stop you. The few remaining are all on borrowed time, even Sans knows he's screwed.
I don’t know, for me Sans almost succeeded in his goal. I quit for months after dying a lot of times to him. But I returned to finish what I started… some people didn’t though because they just couldn’t beat sans.
Oh yeah, Sans wiped the floor with me so hard that I put the game down for a year. Then the day came where I suddenly said "Let's just finish this." I played for five hours straight and finally killed him. I felt proud of it at first, but everything that came after made me remember that pushing through to the end made my character the monster that everyone made me out to be. It was a hollow victory after all.
fun fact: playing the genocide instantly sets the fun value found in the games code to 0, making it impossible to encounter some of the secret gaster easter eggs during a genocide run
To be honest, I find this one's not really so much creepy like the other Genocide tracks -- Empty House, But Nobody Came, Bonetrousle and Waterfall, for example -- as it is haunting and tragic, especially with the slow, empty piano in the background. Just like Another Medium in that regard -- by this point, the game's given up trying to convince you not to continue down the Genocide Route. It's now simply waiting for the end, mourning all the people the player murdered along the way.
This song really isn't trying to be creepy anymore, the game knows that's not going to stop you. At this point, the song keeps its original purpose. Which was to keep you going, but slowed down, it lacks that energy. It sounds tired. With the Genocide run being many of our final playthrough, the player probably is. This was the point of my Genocide run when I said to myself. What exactly, am I trying to do with this run? Why am I doing it?
And that's the point of it. Beating the pacifist is beating the game. Yet you still keeping going on killing everybody. You don't even have to do it you CHOSE this. The game does everything it can to try and stop you. Grinding, guilting you, making you feel terrible for killing the monsters you were once friends with, and finally brutally hard boss battles that make you want to quit.
Just got the game recently during steam sale. Finished my 2nd run being genocide and Sans was pretty hard. It was always the last little stretch where I kept dying. Took me 15 attempts though :) but they were very stressful attempts lol
I really love this one. The fact that this continues playing during battles adds so much atmosphere. I know the normal version of this also plays during battles, but this version has a unique impact that perfectly encompasses the scenario. Your genocide is nearly complete, and there's only a few monsters left to fight you. They take their last stand... but it's hopeless, you're just too powerful for them. They all know this, but at this point they have nothing to lose anymore.
It's why I like this version too. the heavy bass synth makes me think of the each step Chara takes through the CORE towards the throne, all while the corruption of Flowey creeps through the facility and covering it in shadow, following closely behind Chara...
Might be misremembering something here, but if the ice cubes from Snowdin that get sent to the CORE by Ice Wolf (who, in genocide, isn't there) cool the CORE down, then the CORE would have exploded and likely killed every remaining survivor in the underground even if the genocide route is aborted here.
The awesome boss battle music and the fact that the major area themes slow down the more you kill are the only things that I found awesome and awesomely creepy about the Genocide run. And when that foreboding music starts up when "But nobody came..." pops up... gives me chills every time. Everything else about the Genocide run for me is nothing but a mountain pile of guilt and regret....
+The Disgruntled Anon I died at least 25 times before I got the pattern down, since he started to frustrate me so much that I felt that I HAD to beat him. And then I regretted ever fighting him once I won. Even choosing NO to try to salvage what ever is left of my soul meant nothing - Chara was in complete control once Sans was gone.
+The Disgruntled Anon Well, you CAN reset before entering the throne room, but if you decide not to, and just enter the throne room, you're locked into the ending cutscene, a.k.a. losing complete control over your character, except for one last choice near the end of the cutscene. I was just relaying how I felt when I beat Sans - since I felt horrible for killing them all (I did a True Pacifist run before the Genocide one), but still was curious enough to go to the throne room to see what happens with Asgore, I finally broke down crying when I couldn't even choose NOT to kill Asgore. Or Flowey/Asriel. I think this is the only game that actually made me care so much about it's characters, that I tear up whenever something bad happens to them, and every time I listen to "Hopes And Dreams" (Asriel Final Boss theme) or actually replay the true final boss fight again.
This track always hits me hard. Not only is it a banger, but the genocide route version gives off this vibe that just isn't matched anywhere else in the game. All the other themes in genocide make you feel uncomfortable, with an upsetting or creepy atmosphere, but this one is almost the exact opposite. Every time i get to this part in a geno run i can't shake the feeling that these enemies are the last defense that the underground has. That these troops are desperately trying to stop you, but are doomed to fail. It feels like it SHOULD be an intense theme but isn't, because you know you cant lose at this point. It fills you with confidence, because you already have enough determination.
Ruins: How... Why... Who would do this? Snowdin: What have you done? Everyone's...dead. You're a monster! Waterfall: You can still go back, there's another way besides killing everyone. Hotland: Y-you're not stopping, are you? Is there nothing to save us all? Is it our fate to wind up dead? Core: 40 left. It'll all be over for us soon.
This one, out of the rest, sounds more menacing than touching. Its like you're coming. Just walking. No need to hurry. Just another area. And there's nothing that can stop you.
The genocide tracks are SOOOO fitting... This might be my fav Undertale track of all. It gives a slight hint of regret... kinda like you're too far gone, but realize what you've done is wrong and there's no other choice but to continue down your path. This game is a masterclass at playing on emotion
+somekindoflandcow * It's nearly the end of our final adventure through this old, pointless world, partner. * Before we completely erase it and all these worthless, painful memories, and move on to another world, together. =)
"Stay determined, 40 more monsters, Let's kill them all, destroy every beast. Screams are heard all around the core. Fate sealed, we can do no more. Guess we've got to just accept our fate. Sit here in despair and wait. You were right, kid, this is so much fun! A thrill making the monsters run. Watch their dust settle on the floor. Let's do this more and more! Final Froggit comes, is mystified. A real shame that it gets fried. Whimsalot has more to learn of life. But it won't get past the strife. Astigmtism, pick on or not? Kill it, EXP we got. Knight Knight draws near, only wants relief. Don't worry we'll put it to sleep! Where do we go? What do we do? The monsters left are few. We rely more, on Asgore. Why isn't he helping? If we just get the final SOUL, then we, you bet, will finally escape this hole. Oh! Oh. Monsters will not escape my wrath. No point trying. So, just give in and accept your destiny filthy creatures! Screams are heard all around the CORE. Fate sealed, we can do no more, guess we've got to just accept our fate, Sit here in despair and wait. Come on, kid, there's not many left. Just get rid of them now. Here we are, human draws near. We run for our dear lives, "Where are the knives?" the human asks. We stand still, paralyzed. Slash to the left, chop to the right, then end it with a blow directly to their core! Their SOUL! Once we lived in peace. Now, only in pieces. And now, there's nobody left. This is an empty CORE. Stay determined, just the robot left. Let's destroy it, crush every circuit!"
"I see two lovers staring over the edge of the cauldron of hell. If these two lovers wish to love, does it mean they will love in the cauldron of hell? I couldn't stop laughing."
+BlazingRefrain I can sort of imagine that too. Chara moving and walking as a cold, unloving machine. Which is kind of funny... Because it is a machine. You as the player is using it as a puppet to speed your plans in destroying everything.
Despite owning undertale for many years it's not till recently i actually did a genocide route run. Since I already knew what happened and I didn't want to hurt the characters I came to care about, but curiousity got the best of me and wow. It really is a different experience to a normal route. At this point in the core the story has completely stopped. No quips no dialogue just the save point telling you 40 left. It's amazing how despite the locations not changing the atmosphere is completely different. The slowing down of the music really hit it for me. The core was my favorite part of the geno route. The vibe is immaculate. This game is a treasure.
You quite literally took the words of my mouth, as you have described the genocide experience eloquently!! Even if it is lowering the pitch and slowing down the music, it makes such a drastic change when playing the game.
After one experiment I saw with skipping Sans battle in TH-cam, I decided to make own ones. 1. In the Genocide route, you can't reach the barrier. If you teleport to the last save point near Barrier Room, you will see Asgore to the left. He'll still speak about going to dentist. If you follow him to Barrier Room, he'll ask if you're ready to fight (as in Neutral/Pacifist route). By choosing YES, he'll raise the souls and the battle should begin. But what? After that, he refuses to fight. The battle should end as in the normal Genocide Route. 2. In the Genocide Route, you can't go out the Underground. After killing Sans, you still can save your progress. Teleport yourself to the room where you kill Photoshop Flowey in the Neutral Route and go out. Your phone will ring and you'll hear... Sans? Illogical, he must be dead. That's impossible Alphys Ending. 3. If you skip Sans battle, the route still counts as Genocide. But what if you kill everyone in Hotland/CORE but skip Mettaton NEO battle? That was very interesting. I reached the Asgore house and... the music was from Neutral Ending. What? The monsters (What monsters, you killed everyone?) will tell a long story like in the Neutral Route. What next? Will I have bad time? No! Sans still judges you and lets you reach Asgore. At the end, you'll get the impossible Mettaton Ending. 4. What if you skip everything from the start? If you skip locations, all skipped monsters count as being spared. But you'll not see Papyrus anywhere. That's impossible Betrayed Undyne Ending. You can't get neither Pacifist, nor Family Ending because you can't befriend Papyrus. That's all I got!
the game doesn't even keep track is sans dies or not, the kill counter doesn't go up, and i believe if you reload your game, he will just fight you again, i don't even know if he actually died
It reminds me of when I was playing in that "cage" for kids or playground or how it's called. Running and pressing things I've imagined as switches to stop the apocalypse or that alien chasing me all the time. But once I got tired of running and apocalypse happened. I failed. Tired...but still too determinated to have more fun. I stood up slowly leaning on colorfully painted wall dramatically walking forwards to try to save myself. Every step felt hard just like this song, apocalypse filled me with little happy sadness just like this song, exhaustion of running has slowed me down just like it slowed down this song. Did I success at saving the world ? Heck yeah I was the god of that world and I disliked bad endings. When parents called me to go home I quickly imagined a switch representing reset button and godlikely pressed it and then ran home. This song has awoken that memory.

This is so catchy slowed down that I actually drum on the wall next to me to the beat. Toby Fox, if you were shooting for creepy with this one, you should probably give up shooting.
Starshot Gaming Never woould've been able to know Undyne, Sans, and this song if it wasn't for that run tbh. There's a diference between watching a video and seeing it live.
Man, if Toby ever decides to add a hard mode to Undertale, he would have to rework the entire game. If you try out the demo for hard mode, the characters act differently toward you and the monsters from later parts of the game show up early on. It also seems that Toriel at the beginning of the run seems disappointed rather than excited for your arrival. Could it be hinted that every main story character has retained the memory of the player restarting their journey. If that's the case, a whole lot of new enemies, dialogue, and endings would be added to game. Man, a person could only hope. =3
+Sashrunner MOST parts of the game would have to be changed, probably, because hard mode cuts out the middleman of chara/ and gives you direct control of frisk. pretty major parts of how the player interacts with the lore would have to be changed... and effectively divorcing chara from frisk means that chara is now able to menace you from without. granted, i don't think a full hard mode is ever going to exist, no matter how hard people get hyped up for it.
+Sashrunner If I remember correctly, if you name your character Frisk, it does give you a hard mode. I'm not sure how it effects the gameplay though, I only remember reading it somewhere.
Out of all the slowed songs in this route, this is my favorite. It's calm, danceable, yet sinister. Who said that just because you feel numb and dull inside, you can't dance with dust on your hands?
+MrSugarRush 11 you vouldn't know how it feels to be alone... ja? vould you... heh... if only i could feel sad... but... i cant... vithout... Her... i cant feel anything. not even the pain... ive gone numb... help...
This, just like the Neutral/Pacifist version, gives you that near the end feeling. It tells you that there only 40 (or less) monsters remaining until you reach the end of your journey. Fun Fact: Your last chance to abort a genocide route is at the monster before Mettaton NEO.
actually, im pretty sure if you spare Mettaton NEO before you attack him, he says that you wont be a threat to humanity. maybe thats the last point where you can stop
no, it isn't right before killing flowey, you could have exited, and fixed everything. but you CHOSE not to. you chose to end everything. *...you deserve this.*
@@Zilicon I'm quite late but you can abort Genocide while killing Mettaton NEO. I discovered this first hand but in order to truly be locked into the Genocide route, you must hit Mettaton NEO near the middle of the fight bar-thing. If you hit them early, they start a speech about how you won't harm humanity and whatnot. I'd recommend looking it up/doing it for yourself. MAJOR Edit: OKAY... I've learned that the PS4 version WASN'T just a test run of if they could port Undertale to other devices (a good one too). To clarify, this applies to the PS4 version. I do not have Undertale on anything other than PC and PS4. I apologize if I came across as condescending.
@@_oceanace as long as you kill 40 monsters in hotland/core, then mettaton neo will always give you his genocide dialogue (even if you don’t land a center hit). if he doesn’t give you his genocide dialogue, then that means you missed at least 1 monster. you can’t abort the genocide route after killing the 40 monsters. i speedrun the game so i always don’t land a center hit because it’s faster.
Actually, I think I've finally got how this makes me feel. Background Minecraft music. If Minecraft Bedrock ever gets an Undertale expansion, this song is going to be on the background without a doubt.
This is one of the themes I listen to while doing drawing practice to this day. Without a doubt, my favorite theme in the whole OST. Surpassed the normal version of another medium. XD
This song really gives off the feeling that you're approaching the point of no return, which makes sense because the CORE is the last chance to abort the Genocide Route. Fighting Mettaton without killing all the monsters will revert you to neutral, but if you kill all the monsters beforehand, you're locked into Genocide unless you reset.
A once happy song that reminds you of the near end of your journey is now nothing but a song of lost hope... love the way Toby has done this with all his music!
This gives off the vibe of walking through a normally overcrowded place (a mall for example) at midnight, with not a single soul around but you. Everything is still operating. The lights are still running, the kiosk screens are still on, that weird Build-A-Bear stuffing machine is still spinning, but nobody’s there to operate it. There’s no sign of any life anywhere, not even rats scurrying around for cheddar. You are completely and unmistakably… ALONE. Kind of fitting, honestly.
I love this version a lot more than the Neutral.Pacifist version. By now, the game has accepted that you're evil, and decided "Hey, kid, if you're going to kill, we're here to stop you." I mean, Mettaton NEO was a super disappointing fight but Sans is making history.
Love how it sounds so exhausted and hopeless. Like it's saying, "You're here. And we're powerless. Do whatever you want with the place. We can't stop you anyways.".
*You approach the CORE *You already knew your way around this place. *Time to rinse and repeat. *You are filled with determination... *can you even call it that anymore?
Death mode: inflicts 92+12i degrees Fahrenheit. It randomizes your movement keys every 20 seconds. Applies to battles too. It wears off once you exit the CORE either by going to the Mettaton room or going back to Hotland. It is reapplied once you reenter the room. You can also fall off of edges (and die) in the CORE.
Ever since my love and broke up after 6 years, I just can't stop listening to this song. A sad, slow, and empty arrange of something that used to be enjoyable and upbeat. Guess a videogame managed to score the perfect breakup song, huh.
You know, it would've been cool if this theme progressively got slower with every monster you kill, feels fitting knowing how this is the final area, the underground is pretty much empty at this point.
More like, And here we see the wild Char- They're... dancing? This is a rare sight, ladies and gentlemen! Take a good look before they notice yo- -Static-
Just one push, and you're falling into the core. In few seconds, the universe will forget your existance. Your determination can't save you now, can it?
Sans’s dialouge for your tenth death makes so much sense now. “oh wait, You don’t have any friends” His dialouge shows that he somewhat remembers the pacifist routes. In that route, you become friends with everyone as the game states. In genocide, all of those friends, are dead. You killed them. Except for one “friend.” Sans. His dialouge saying you don’t have any despite him being alive isn’t him saying he isn’t friends with you anymore because of you killing everyone, but that he was never really your friend. He was just waiting for you to make the choice of resetting. And he was right.
think about that: the exp (execution points) and LOVE (level of violence) they're in every game. In every game you earn exp when you kill enemies but no one says that you have to kill them only the game says it, in every game (exepting some games) you can't go on with the story you have to kill but to have a pacifist run in every game you have to not going on with the story

+AilisCutie 101 Undertale OST - Core (GENOCIDE) Extended
I feel like that this part when you're killing the monsters in the Core, Flowey is simultaneously taking out all the monsters that are hiding in the True Lab (after Alphys helped them escape), since Flowey shows up right after the Core, with a "the job is done" sort of attitude. Pretty eerie.
But I wanted to kill them myself...
That's creepy to think about, but I don"t think Flowey would be able to take on them. He isn't THAT strong. (Besides, Flowey states that he is weaker than Asgore, so I don"t think he could take on a hundred monsters by himself.)
This profile picture is totally not original
1. He does have that attack where he surrounds you in a circle of pellets which is inescapable.
2. He has killed every monster in the underground before in his other timelines, and has stated to have fought against "smiley trashbag"
3. Asgore most likely destroys Flowey's FIGHT button, seeing as he can destroy your MERCY button, and Flowey is a monster, not a human.
The Trolldier I believe most monsters are stronger than LV1 Frisk; Flowey probably gained LOVE and became stronger when he slaughtered everyone.
The Trolldier (Truthfully I might be wrong, it's just that this idea terrifies me, so I'm kinda trying to avoid it hehe)
@@yoshibrothers9982 *Finish the job.

RobotwarsKing Hey! I remember you!

I think that one was about to say "I love you."
They _are_ sentient, of course. We just have a lot of them.
+Tyler Sampsel the boss battles werent that hard
Matt Schwartz Bro Sans was brutal.
+Tyler Sampsel true, first time took me around like 80 attempts
Just got the game recently during steam sale. Finished my 2nd run being genocide and Sans was pretty hard. It was always the last little stretch where I kept dying. Took me 15 attempts though :) but they were very stressful attempts lol
As you level up, you presumably gain speed. And when you're incredibly fast, things appear to slow down around you...
wait when you level up, you gain speed?
@@XxMasterxX-1-atk-1-def In battle speed I meant, although it would be pretty funny if you could run around at mach 1 after finishing genocide
@@yoshkabosh7979 lol
Yo I never thought about that!
But... Don't people say that you kinda "shamble around" during the genocide route? Doesn't sound very fast to me
I really love this one.
Stegomasaurus *Except their lives =)*
It's why I like this version too. the heavy bass synth makes me think of the each step Chara takes through the CORE towards the throne, all while the corruption of Flowey creeps through the facility and covering it in shadow, following closely behind Chara...
Might be misremembering something here, but if the ice cubes from Snowdin that get sent to the CORE by Ice Wolf (who, in genocide, isn't there) cool the CORE down, then the CORE would have exploded and likely killed every remaining survivor in the underground even if the genocide route is aborted here.
I know this was 2 months ago, but Alphys evacuates them to the True lab, not the CORE.
True, and if not, all power is lost leading to anarchy.
Nilo M during a genocide route, can you see the ice in waterfall or core?
It would probably take like a week for the core to blow up so it would not blow up in time before you destroy the world.
It's possible... But... The Queen Alphys Ending tell other thing (i don't speak english)
+TimelessOne123 I take out my earphones every time But nobody came pops up... can't take it even in noon
+TimelessOne123 get this: the nobody came music is just floweys theme slowed down 1200x.
aloisfancy oh yeah I saw that video on youtube the other day. Toby is a clever fox...
It fills you with a confidence, and yet it fills you with boredom to tears as well.

You kill 109 monsters, yes I counted em all
Note here: it also includes asgore and flowey
the game doesn't even keep track is sans dies or not, the kill counter doesn't go up, and i believe if you reload your game, he will just fight you again, i don't even know if he actually died

Never woould've been able to know Undyne, Sans, and this song if it wasn't for that run tbh. There's a diference between watching a video and seeing it live.
'Able to know' Do you mean murder in cold blood, and I have the game btw
Lol no. You would never see the heroine or Sans in badass mode if they didn't had a reason to kill you. Sans dialogue is sublime.
+Sashrunner To be honest, Toriel was just upset that there was nothing for the cinnamon-butterscotch pie, so it was snails again for dinner.
Ah. Didn't know that. It would still be a neat concept though.
I want a full Hard Mode just so that we can have an actual Mettaton NEO fight.

@@_oceanace
as long as you kill 40 monsters in hotland/core, then mettaton neo will always give you his genocide dialogue (even if you don’t land a center hit). if he doesn’t give you his genocide dialogue, then that means you missed at least 1 monster. you can’t abort the genocide route after killing the 40 monsters.
i speedrun the game so i always don’t land a center hit because it’s faster.
Actually, I think I've finally got how this makes me feel. Background Minecraft music.
If Minecraft Bedrock ever gets an Undertale expansion, this song is going to be on the background without a doubt.
3:07 This Part Actually Sounds Really Cool

Obit?

wow.....
ya know, it could also just mean core.
I don't know why but I like to hear it slowed down, it's very relaxing to me
This is one of the themes I listen to while doing drawing practice to this day. Without a doubt, my favorite theme in the whole OST. Surpassed the normal version of another medium. XD
It's weirdly nice despite being a song for Genocide Run. Also the pitch must be minus 6.0 to achieve it, not only slowed down to .5
is it weird i find this calming?
Yes
The Core?

You can call me insane, YOU CAN ALL CALL ME INSANE BUT I actually find CORE Genocide to be kinda relaxing.
@D Payne Oh good.
i love the fallen child which plays when chara appears. I'm much worse than you.
@@CharaDreemurrfan you know, thats a good point
Same for most of the area themes on Geno
Waterfall is the exception since that is straight up creepy
*The fact that some people have never heard this in game fills you with determination*
This is flat out my favorite track from the game.
This version is way more better than the normal one
that's what I'm saying!
Sam Cham It's even better at 0.5. =)
I love this version a lot more than the Neutral.Pacifist version.
By now, the game has accepted that you're evil, and decided "Hey, kid, if you're going to kill, we're here to stop you."
I mean, Mettaton NEO was a super disappointing fight but Sans is making history.
This is, like, really good. I was surprised at how much I liked it.
Same with 1.5 and 1.25 speed. Try it! It's pretty good.
Love how it sounds so exhausted and hopeless. Like it's saying, "You're here. And we're powerless. Do whatever you want with the place. We can't stop you anyways.".
Tbh I like alot of the genocide versions, they just feel alot more chill in my opinion. Or at least the core does
*You approach the CORE
*You already knew your way around this place.
I have no idea why I love this version more than the one in the pacifist/Nuterul route
Ever since my love and broke up after 6 years, I just can't stop listening to this song.
A sad, slow, and empty arrange of something that used to be enjoyable and upbeat. Guess a videogame managed to score the perfect breakup song, huh.
The core’s music doesn’t seem to have as much energy as before...
*Maybe that’s because you took the energy and life of this land away...*

Maybe because the Ice Wolf isn't cooling the Core
You know, it would've been cool if this theme progressively got slower with every monster you kill, feels fitting knowing how this is the final area, the underground is pretty much empty at this point.
Ingenious work by Toby. It’s not just slowed down, but certain parts speed up and it’s just amazing.

Just one push, and you're falling into the core. In few seconds, the universe will forget your existance. Your determination can't save you now, can it?
Sans’s dialouge for your tenth death makes so much sense now.
“oh wait, You don’t have any friends”
His dialouge shows that he somewhat remembers the pacifist routes.

Mettaton
This song is such a jam despite the story tones, it's the slowed piano's five beat opening at 0:00 that make the song have a really cool beat!
think about that: the exp (execution points) and LOVE (level of violence) they're in every game. In every game you earn exp when you kill enemies but no one says that you have to kill them only the game says it, in every game (exepting some games) you can't go on with the story you have to kill but to have a pacifist run in every game you have to not going on with the story
It's amazing how terrifying this manages to be for me
