The Philippines has a bigger budget for promoting the country as a tourism destination than Vietnam. Yet, Vietnam managed to welcome 1 million tourists on January of this year alone!

South Korea and Thailand's high tourist arrival is not merely bcoz of their famous tourists spots but also bcoz of their entertainment industry (whether in series/music/etc). Definitely, "SOFT POWER" have a big impact in tourism and in the economy in general. 2M in the month of April alone or January-April? If that’s the first trimester that’s still a far cry compared to 9.37M tourist arrival in Thailand for the first 3 months alone. Not including April. Our target is 7.7M while Thailand is targeting 35M this year.

Sana Maliban sa California magkaroon pa ng ibang direct flight from USA to pinas, but not in New York airport dahil too much congestion ang airport.
It’s sad to say that the hospitality workers does not benefit at all from the increased tourist arrivals. They are measly paid at $12 a day, while the tourist pays top dollar for food and lodging. In addition, to accommodate these tourists, fishermen are dislocated from their fishing grounds and the vendors chased away by hotels while selling their goods. Some hotels also declares the beach in front of them as private and not allowing locals access. So, who benefits? The greedy resort and hotel owners.
