Peter, i don't think you fully understand in what degree they adopted you. Holding a Torah is a great honor for every Jew. The fact that they let YOU hold it, means that these people have so much love and respect for you. I'm guessing on the many many smiles that this isn't old footage and you went back to the community. Thank you so much for shining a bright light on the positive side of Orthodox Jews/ Chassidim. May your life be filled with health, meaning, succes, creativity untill 120. You truly made me and many other Jews feel relieved that there is honest and positive journalism out there. Keep on making great stuff!
@@inspiredby621 Dear, Insinuating that all people who don’t see Jesus as the Messiah are sinners, is a sin in itself. Don’t judge. What people don’t understand is that Judaism isn’t just a religion.. it’s history of the Judean tribe with their story, culture, traditions and practices. Please be respectful of that considering christianity comes from Judaism and Jesus was a practicing Jew.
@@FastingFTW You are wrong and please go away with your Anti-Semitic ignorance. False accusations and intentional misunderstanding and bullying wiped out my ancestors. Great job Peter! It’s amazing how as an outsider you are able to tap into foreign worlds and understand people who are very different than you on such a deep level.
So Shloime, now you'll have to reserve a special invitation for Peter to the upcoming Tishrei holidays, Hanukkah, Purim, Seder Pesach... and a Hasidic wedding of course. Make it happen (with God's help).
What struck me is when the gentleman in the wheelchair was speaking, the young boys leaned in to hear him and what he had to say. The level of respect these young people have for their community, their elders, and their faith is admirable.
I nannied for a Jewish family and really loved their celebrations and traditions. Every Friday night they would get ready for a big dinner/party at their house and it looked like they were preparing for a wedding! It was amazing. They are so warm and really value community.
That’s so sweet! What a unique experience! We always joke that non Jewish people make a huge deal about thanksgiving but we cook like it’s thanksgiving every week! There really is no boring time in Jewish life since every Friday night-Saturday is a holiday 😁
Every woman shown in this video is beautiful. The hostess, oh my goodness, is so pretty and shows such inner beauty, as well. I suspect she is a teacher: everything she speaks to Peter is sharing knowledge. She also has the gentle manner of a teacher.
Hope someday you change your mind - go to a Chabad house and say hi see how welcome you are. When you get older you will find all people reach out with love. I'm not going to lie. I'm a new Yorker who always talked shit about Jews because I was stupid and uneducated. But after these videos and I mean all of these videos. I'm such a changed man. Jewish people are amazing . Very family oriented. It almost like you want to become Jewish after these videos. Amazing videos. Huge fan . 👏
Very honest of you! If only we could all appreciate our similarities rather than our differences, this world would be a much nicer, better, safer place. Well done!
same for me. But the ones in borough park are genuinely rude. They stare at you when you walk by and treat you like garbage just for daring to walk through "their" neighborhood.

As a lifelong Roman Catholic, I’ve always loved and respected Judaism. Peter’s videos on Hasidism have opened my eyes to the depth and breadth of this beautiful faith. May you all live a blessed and prosperous life.
My grandma worked with Jewish families for over 30 years as a nanny, her walls are covered in pictures of such beautiful babies and families. Much love 💗
As a born and bred Chasidic Jew I must comment... there is rarely an event or a video that gives me as much joy as well as tears in my eyes as watching the procession of a new Torah. Makes me cry with emotion and dance with joy. It's amazing to watch this event unfold through the eyes of an outsider. Thank you Peter for showing this to the general world.

@@vitalchance1032 Are you actually looking for an explanation or is this just an attempt to somehow drudge up some old age anti semetism? I'll humor you I guess... The first passage refers to the old time rituals of drinking blood, which was practiced in large numbers by worshipers of idols, often those worshiping the devil, or participating in satanic rituals. Jews as such are forbidden from participating in those kinds of rituals, ie. drinking blood. The brit mila is not drinking blood. In fact, the mohel doesn't ingest the blood, he spits it out. Your attempt to sort of pull similarities and allude to phedophilia is not lost on me. But the ritual is one of our tradition, one which in some forms has been adopted by a massive percentage of the world population in one form or another. While gentiles, muslims, and other's who participate in circumcision may have changed the practices the reality is they essentially just ripped from our tradition. The rules and laws of brit mila are complex, and while you may not understand it, know that every single mohel is well respected, well learned, and is generally considered both medically trained as well as someone with a stable, healthy, background. The brit is usually performed publicly, with the child's parents at his side, and in full view of 10+ adults. Again, destroying your entire premise that brit mila in any way is a form of "’So, the Rabbi.., after a new born is brought into this world, the first thing that he thinks to do is to is cut the foreskin off the tip of a babies penis and suck the blood.." Edit: after reading some of your other asinine comments, I want to add... Its literally vile and morally corrupt people like you who wiped out my entire family in gas chambers. The same cut. You must be super proud.
the culture is so beautiful. Many, many civilizations have been so powerful throughout time but all of them seem to have "fallen" or gotten destroyed yet this group of people, who have been targeted in ways unimaginable, from a small area on the map, have stood up decade after decade, millennia after millennia, and today still are stronger than ever. They are leaders in all aspects of the world as well. They do all this with a smile and strength not often seen. It seems the Torah, the Jewish culture and family unity gives them all a clear blueprint to have a happy and successful life without constant need to be vengeful and angry, which they certainly have the right to feel. Amazing!! Mazel Tov.

I love how the Hasidic Jewish people are so united and are like a big family with such a deep love for their culture and community. They have defied the odds of oppression.
As an Asian American who’s Buddhist, I smiled with pure joy watching this celebration. I’m glad Peter was able to show us their culture and experiences. This is pretty cool. ❤️

Peter in January: "Well, this has been a good series. I guess I'm done with the Orthodox Jewish community." Peter in July: ". . .son of a gun, they pulled me back in again." In all seriousness, as someone who isn't a Hasidic Jew but who is an Orthodox Jew, thank you *so* much for the way you've filmed this series. This is what honest documentary filmmaking should be. You clearly don't fully understand or even agree with everything you see, but that's ok! The important thing is that you've clearly approached this series with an open mind and a desire to truly explore a community that's alien to you, without the same tired old agenda. All that anyone can ask is that we be viewed as full, multi-faceted human beings, and that's what you've done so respecfully. Thank you. There is one point I wanted to clarify, because it got somewhat lost in the fracas of the Torah party. Jews do not believe that you must be a Torah-observant Jew to be a good person. We believe that non Jews who observe, essentially, the big commandments and live giving lives as good people *are* good people. Also, it is possible to convert to Judaism, although it's a long and complicated process. In any case, thank you again for this series.
@@eden5260 People tend to conflate Chasidism with a level of religious observance, which it isn't, necessarily. Chasidic Jews generally come from Central or Eastern Europe and are followers of a certain Rebbe (rabbi), and have certain traditions set by that Rebbe. Chasidism is also a different approach to Jewish service that focuses on certain things, more emotion and spirituality versus a more textual, "rational," approach so to speak. I'm probably overgeneralizing, but hopefully you get the idea. Orthodox Jews follow Jewish law and practice. It's an umbrella term that could include everything from Chassidim, to people like me, who are "yekkes" (of German Jewish descent), to more "modern Orthodox" people who perhaps have more direct exposure to secular culture than other types of Orthodox Jews. In short, all Chassidim are Orthodox Jews, but not all Orthodox Jews are Chassidim. And the media tends to use "Chassidic" to mean "crazy fundamentalist," which also is not true.

@@srmalik This reasoning is pretty weak. This implies that since we accept those countries we should accept Israel and forget about what they're currently doing and what they have done. Do you see how problematic it is? Also those countries which were built on a genocide stopped those a long time ago. It's not as actual as Israel's horrendous actions. And also the ones suffering are first and foremost Muslims men, women and children. Which is why as Muslims we should especially not say "long live Israel".
I was raised in NY in the 50' and 60's. My mother was German Catholic; my father was Orthodox Jewish and his family kept Kosher. They raised me Lutheran. My husband was raised Armenian Apostolic and Episcopalian. Although I don't practice a specific religion, I am familiar enough to feel comfortable in most religious settings. I am half Polish, the rest of me is German, Irish and Swedish. All this helps define me as an American. Peter, these videos help me remember my father. Thank you.
@@user-bw3fl7fj9w No. They had religious values but neither practiced anything more than Easter, Christmas and anniversaries of death. At the time, a Lutheran pastor was the only one they could find willing to marry them. My mother felt my sister and I needed some kind of religious training. The church of the pastor who married them was around the corner from where I grew up so it was easy to attend. My sister and I walked to services every Sunday sans parents. The hard part was that my "friends" during the week at school who attended that church, shunned me. In their eyes, in that setting, I was Jewish which half of me is. I am not Jewish (Episcopalian) however, I love this wonderful, joyous occasion the jewish community made for the completion of the Torah. I love other cultures and I have loved all the work you did earlier this year in the Hasidic community. I am eager for you to go to a Hasidic wedding so we can see it firsthand! Thank you for bringing this to your viewers. By the way, I lived in Cairo, Egypt and it is not uncommon in Islam for the men to separate from the women even at dinner parties. My home had a place for both to retreat to after the dinner had been served. Both sexes feel freer and no one is looking at another man's wife or vice versa. Love your videos!
I gave birth at home and I had to get a Hasidic Rabi to do what they call a Briss....getting my 4 sons’ tallywhacker snipped lol! I was there to love and hold my sons each time. I paid $250 and because I am not Jewish the Rabi has to donate the whole amount to charity each time. He wrote a book and I am in it. There was a slight anomaly with all 4 boys, but I had 2 different fathers. So, he felt he had a thesis that the Mother “molds” the “shape” (for a lack of a better word) of the genitalia. I was honored to be in the book. And....don’t you love to see the closeness and respect this culture enjoys!!! I wish our whole world could be more like this...joyful and caring. God Bless❤️
Jewish culture is so beautiful but it is so sad that some of them still don't believe that the Messiah has come to save them. For by the Torah alone they will not enter heaven. No man will enter the kingdom except through Yahusha Ha'Mashiach. Amein.
Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Lord Jesus is the Jewish messiah and Lord Jesus is coming soon! Come to Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. He will welcome you with open arms, and wash you clean from all sin. Only Christ’s righteousness covering us can reconcile us (depraved sinners) to a Holy and Righteous and good God. Repent. Turn away from this sin and believe in Jesus Christ. He, God incarnate lived a perfect and sinless life. He died on the cross as a substitute for us and faced the wrath of God for us. He died but resurrected as death had no power over Him. He sits at the right hand of the Father right now. Please call on Him. He comes to all who call on him. Be saved through faith and know eternal life. “3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” Isaiah 53:3-12

Thank you Peter for showing our culture without judging, and without prejudice. As a Hassidic woman, I must tell everyone who cares - Hassidic women feel comfortable even when they are separated, there is no need to worry about us :)
Seeing what goes on in the outside world, I am eternally grateful for the loving caring and respectful way that the Torah teaches us to behave, which includes treating a woman as a princess who is not "available to the public".
Again, destroying your entire premise that brit mila in any way is a form of "’So, the Rabbi.., after a new born is brought into this world, the first thing that he thinks to do is to is cut the foreskin off the tip of a babies penis and suck the blood.."
Edit: after reading some of your other asinine comments, I want to add...

Peter in January: "Well, this has been a good series. I guess I'm done with the Orthodox Jewish community."

In all seriousness, as someone who isn't a Hasidic Jew but who is an Orthodox Jew, thank you *so* much for the way you've filmed this series.
As a non religious jew I still don't really understand the difference between hasidic and orthodox.

Curious....did your parents become Lutheran?
@@user-bw3fl7fj9w No. They had religious values but neither practiced anything more than Easter, Christmas and anniversaries of death. At the time, a Lutheran pastor was the only one they could find willing to marry them. My mother felt my sister and I needed some kind of religious training. The church of the pastor who married them was around the corner from where I grew up so it was easy to attend. My sister and I walked to services every Sunday sans parents. I wish our whole world could be more like this...joyful and caring.
God Bless❤️

You're a good g()y,
I love how much your helping us learn so we can respect Jewish traditions.
Why would you not respect them? What have Jewish traditions done to you?
Jewish culture is so beautiful but it is so sad that some of them still don't believe that the Messiah has come to save them. For by the Torah alone they will not enter heaven. No man will enter the kingdom except through Yahusha Ha'Mashiach. Amein.
@@nmr3647 Killed Jesus Christ.
Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
@itransheartZOG who are you saying killed Jesus Christ?
This is amazing. I wish I found meaning in my life to the extent that these guys do. I have this much love for my family, but the bond they share through their dark history and faith, and the way it connects them is truly a thing to behold. Great content as always Peter, and thanks to the Jewish community for allowing us to see these aspects of your incredible faith.
Gentiles are obligated to keep the 7 Noahide commandments. Good luck.
Lord Jesus is the Jewish messiah and Lord Jesus is coming soon! Come to Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. He will welcome you with open arms, and wash you clean from all sin. On your own- you can not be righteous before God because we have all broken God’s moral law.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

Such a joy to be a witness this loving beautiful community’s celebration! ❤
As an open minded Muslim I would love to go and visit their community and learn all about their religion
You should! We LOVE when people care enough to come and learn instead of judging. (Plus we have soooo much in common with our Muslim brothers it’s so fun to compare different customs) I for one would be honored to have someone like you at my table for Shabbat
finally bro, Over the years I do not know what they told people or rather did not tell people, from what I heard they said that Jews are murderers and bad people and there is no basis for that
Yes!!! I was waiting for another video about these lovely people. Greetings from The Netherlands
I love those kids. So inocents, so kids. Beautiful. Blessing for them from Dominican Republic.
I would love to hang out with Shloime for a few days. He's the perfect Hasidic ambassador to the rest of the world. The willful ignorance of certain people about things they don't know is daunting but Shloime Zionce is the man to take it on without being boastful or touchy about it.
That was SO cool!! Thank you so much Peter, for going back and making another video with our favorite hasidic jewish friends!! Absolutely loved getting to witness this super special occasion that we otherwise probably would have never gotten to see!! I had never even heard of this kind of celebration. There is always so much to learn! And it's so fun to be brought along. Thank you Eli & Shterny & Shloime for being so open to teaching us about your culture and sharing it with us. Much Love!!!!
Peter you do an excellent work showing the reality… I’m Jewish and I hate when people hear so many wrong things about Judaism.. thanks for showing the world a part of us! ☺️
I’m a cradle Catholic. And I appreciate this so much. God bless you and all that make you sharing this possible.
💯
It brought tears to my eyes watching the community embrace you and even allowing you to walk with the Torah! What an amazing experience! I can’t imagine the joy it brings you to be a part of these communities and to have them welcome you so openly. In turn we get to experience unique, special traditions and moments through your videos. They are thought provoking which is so lacking in our world today. We need more of this! ❤
Thank you Peter for showing our culture without judging, and without prejudice.
As a Hassidic woman, I must tell everyone who cares - Hassidic women feel comfortable even when they are separated, there is no need to worry about us :)
In other words. We are not oppressed
Seeing what goes on in the outside world, I am eternally grateful for the loving caring and respectful way that the Torah teaches us to behave, which includes treating a woman as a princess who is not "available to the public". A woman's beauty is recognized, appreciated and cherished. Like a diamond, she is protected, respected, and not left vulnerable to inappropriate interactions.

Once again, thank you Shloime, your family and the Hasidic community for allowing me (us) into your beautiful lifestyle and religious traditions. My Jewish friends are in trouble, they never shared or educated me on any of this. Lol and of course, thank you Peter, it seems you have made some excellent lifelong friends.
Thank you!

DIFFERENT STROKES DIFFERENT FOLKS ❤❤❤❤ ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VIDEO! Why can't we all rejoice like that, no matter of our beliefs and upbringings. Absolutely respect 🙏
Absolutely LOVE this serie, I am so invested in this series ! It's crazy how ignorant I was about this community. What a privilege to be able to follow all this ! I have learned so much.Thank you Peter, Shloime, and everyone who make this series possible !
As a non-Hasidic Jew I feel joy and pride seeing this clip. Pride because we truly a special people. Joy because our heritage was shared with someone who is not from the tribe.
Oh wow, another Hasidim video of you. I didn't expect that. The combination Peter-Shloime is something we should get more often.
BTW, funny to see that Peter has become a celebrity within the Hassidic community.
Peter is A celebrity who uses his talent to bring G-dliness into this world. A rarity. That's why he is so admired by Observant Jews.
I am grateful to Peter, all of them, Shterny, etc.
It’s very simple. There aren’t allot of people of put a positive light on the community. Hence they appreciate his work.
It's sad, but yes it seems the amount of journalists/creators who have given hasidic jews a fair and honest voice are few and far so that Peter with his growing channel is hailed as a celebrity. Maybe if the world didn't have this sorid past and a knack of "hating on the Jew" so much, Peter would just be an every day Peter in this community too :)
@@MarcHeuberger I don't think it is about antisemitism. The modern world simply doesn't like people who live a religious life. The media likes to portray these kinds of people as freaks. Through Peter and also through the Netflix series "Shtisel" I learned quite something about the Hassidic community since we usually don't get too much information about them.
It's such a blessing that Shloime shares this with all of us.
"User manual of life". I think we all need one for ourselves and a good one to survive this complicated world and not to get lost, benefit for the entire human race and nature. Respect for this group of people treasuring and celebrating their tradition and wisdom from the past.
We don't need one. It's common sense and being a good human being. We don't need a book, a god, or any man made rules.
I am not saying it's bad to have them, I'm just saying religion is not compulsory to be a good person.
I’m Hasidic. Looking on your video’s I think it’s the best gift someone from the outside world give us. thank you so much Peter❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really thought a party would never be ! I just got a lesson in Hasidic world. Great celbration blessings to all!!!
Hello Peter i am from Singapore i am 40 years old and i am a muslim. Honestly i really learn a lot about the Jewish cultures perspective perceptions religion and rules from your videos. Thank u so much Peter for your effort and precious times of uploading these useful videos about the Jews. I really appreciate this.

Its amazing what we get to see and how open and honest you are with that. Nothing but utter enjoyment from this whole series. Heres to many more!
Thanks.
I love that you’re partying with these guys Peter I sense that you made a true bond with the gang.
I had chills watching most of this.
Such a beautiful, ancient, respectful etho-religious culture.
The music, the dancing, the beautiful-looking people have such respect for those who have come before.
I commented a month-or-so ago above.
I’d forgotten all about this comment, until returning to comment now.
Funny thing is, I’m experiencing the same thoughts and feelings as last month, except I actually started crying this time.
I don’t know why I’m crying. It’s like too much pure love and beauty for a human to take in without some emotional outlet.
Maybe others aren’t seeing it this way and I should really take a long look at my spirituality and if these beliefs are what should lead me.
Please, I would so value reading others’ thoughts.
I never knew about this type of celebration! Thank you for sharing this, and thank you to all of the people of Monsey for letting us "outsiders" in to witness this special event!
Hello Karen, how are you doing today?
Peter you need cease to amaze me! I was born and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.... Where there was a large Hasidic Jewish community but I never really knew much about it because Hasidic Jews really stayed to themselves and Italians they did mingle with the Jews but they're not the Hasidic so to watch you do this Torah event is incredibly touching and I love the idea that it helps me to understand better with the culture is and touches my heart because I do believe in the Lord you know that really touches my heart thank you for continuing to do really open-minded videos like this like all your videos I loved your Italian video with the gentleman from the Bronx about Little Italy keep him coming I can't wait for you to do the Jewish wedding with Shlomo.... Peace,Love and, Guidance💜
If I had my life to live over again I would live in exactly this location, know all of these very same people, study the Torah and live my life in service to the Lord.
This content brought a huge smile to my face. The editing is really, really good .
Favorite video of the month!
It’s never to late to change your lifestyle
if you are interested in learning more about it, you're welcome to search for a Midrasha (a study place for women) near you.
unless you just happen upon an extremely segregated community, i am sure they'll welcome you with much hospitality!
It's truly a lovely event , your culture survived....you are still here despite war and persecution and continue growing and honoring God .
Very pleasantly surprised to see this video today! I thought you were done with Hasidic videos. I needed this video...you and Shloime are such a bro-mance! I loved this video, thank you so much! God bless.
Its nice how Shterny is so honored to bring God's word into the world
