Why on every review about a Skoda do they say it has some clever features "like an ice scrapper in the fuel cap"? Has anyone actually lived with or reviewed a Skoda during a frost? The fuel lid is one of the things that's frozen shut thus preventing you from accessing the ice scraper. Simply Clever eh?
Scratchy plastic. I can’t remember the last time I touched the top of my dash, and the plastic lower down is for muddy feet getting in and out of the car I always hit the bottom of the inside of the door when getting out
The red paint and black grill improves it but seems a very ugly car to me and this particular model seems about £3-4,000 over priced. Seems like Skoda reliability is dropping and prices are increasing so not the value option it used to be. Still think overall Skoda cars make more sense than any other Volkswagen group brands but not keen on this particular model. I believe the 3 cyclinder engines in these don't have a great reputation for reliability but at least it isn't a turbo which further erodes reliability considerably. Nothing appeals about this car really and I certainly wouldn't spend £16-17,000 for one.
True that some plastic parts are rarely touched but reporting the quality of an interior is part of a vehicle review. Some of us are glad she and Batch do this. What I wish was fleshed out more is the nuances of the drive line, particularly in stop start traffic.

Plastics almost “melt” when hot coffee drop hits it (true story) when something is pried open (because I had like 3 places where it started to rattle) the way the plastics just bend because of it is something I have never seen before. Most of the functions are not “intuitive” at all, like the stupid cruise control. Drove it for 1 year, gave it away and never looking back at Škodas. The new owner reported of rusting tailgate last Summer, steering wheel buttons have been changed, multimedia system crashes and above all the 1.2 TSI engine has started to build a weird noise when deaccelerating which Škoda dealership told is norma.
