The first chainsaw was invented in the 1780s by Scottish doctors John Aitken and James Jeffray. It was a hand cranked chainsaw used to cut the pelvic bone during childbirth.
Hi guys...the image behind the credits is the sun, with flares. Also ``Dad``, you find the three songs, including the one you were boppin` to, on you you tube: 1) Fool For A Blonde, by Roger Bartlett (hitchhiker in the van), 2) Misty Hours of Daylight, by Arkey Blue (windshield man at the gas station) and 3) Daddy`s Sick Again, also by Arkey Blue (Sally in the gas station).....enjoy.
This movie has interesting, entertaining reactions when people watch it for the first time. Also, that looks like a bumblebee pillow pet, I love that! I had one when i was younger. I believe I still have it somewhere in storage.
This film is exactly as you describe it, though instead of weird, i would use dread. It is designed not to truly "scare", but to fill you with unease, discomfort, and ultimately dread. The sound design, the editing, even the method of production have only one goal...to brutally plunge the viewer into a dreadful situation, and let that dread grow with every second. It does exactly what it set out to do...unnerve the crap outta you. It isnt scary...just intense and uncomfortable. Like the filming itself was.
New subscriber, loved your reactions, I went back and watched some of your other ones and sorry you got a lot of negativity from The Exorcist, I personally love that film but I respect your opinion, you have your thoughts and thats fine, sadly people can't get that, its your channel and your views. Texas Chainsaw Massacre was the 1st horror movie that truly scared the crap out of me I think I was only 12 and I couldn't sleep for weeks!
Not my kinda movie at all, but cheers for watching it so that I can sort of say I've seen the abridged version! It was more fun watching the text edits and slowdowns though, thanks for the extra effort there, greatly appriciated, makes this one much more fun!
Hello from Canada aside from the 1922 Nosferatu , the Exorcist , the 1970s Omen and the Shinning this movie is another horror classic fun fact this movie is loosely based on Ed Gein who was a Wisconsin serial killer grave robber and Necrophiliac who would rob graves wear their skin and make furniture out of the skin and more .
A little weird background trivia: Cast members, crew and producers of TCM were cheated out of their fair, contracted share of the film's proceeds for years- distribution was handled by Bryanston Pictures which unbeknownst to the filmmakers was a Mafia front company set up to launder profits from the mega success of a certain adults only hit (rhymes with Deep Moat) they financed. Bryanston handled many other films, some like TCM were significant hits. Operators Lou Peraino and Butchie "The Whale" Peraino systematically underreported grosses and play dates, defrauding the filmmakers at the height of the film's success, leaving them a trickle of it's true revenue. This bitterly impacted the actors in particular, who's payment depended on points participation. After years of lawsuits and federal prosecution Bryanston's assets went into receivership and distribution rights for TCM were picked up by small but legit co New Line Cinema in the mid 80s. Finally the filmmakers began to see compensation for their gruelling efforts on the shoot.
In 2023 it’s easy to look past this film but, (3) Films are the Trinity/Ground Zero for modern horror as we know it (Night of the Living Dead, the Exorcist & Texas Chainsaw Massacre) all three of these films are super important (TX Chainsaw is the prototype for the modern slasher in North America But, Italy actually created that sub genre with the Italian Giallo (TX Chainsaw was a real deal indie/Gonzo film huge box office hit but, the film distributor was a front for the mob which lead to a FBI Rico case (Everyone involved with making the film made little to no money which is a shame) Very enjoyable reaction helped with working a very rough graveyard shift 👍👍👍👍 just subscribed
I agree with Thoren - Hellraiser was super slow except for the gory stuff - this movie was the first slasher film and in 74' it scared the bejesus out of everybody - I was a kid and I remember the news covering it and people were freaked out
All actors in this film 🎥 were intheir 30s not kids but all good friends gunnar Hanson a local bartender got the part due to his 6"8 frame rest in peace gunnar and "sally"marilyn burns 80th birthdays coming up.
People the truck can't move with a crushed body under the tire This was partly true People were cut up and killed It was not to be good .lt was letting us know what happened
Neil, any chance you're familiar with John Waters? I'd be very interested in seeing Thoren's (or both of yours if you haven't seen it) reaction to the dark comedy "horror"/slasher Serial Mom. Incredibly wacky and over the top and just plain ridiculousness.
I don't think so. We just finished Tucker and Dale vs Evil and, well you'll have to wait to see the reaction but needless to say, I think we'd be into it! Thank you. I'll remember that one!
@@variablevisuals1625 Well it's definitely not a horror so it wouldn't fit in with the Halloween/October theme you've had going on. It's considered more of a cult classic dark comedy but surprisingly it does have a slightly higher body count than Texas Chainsaw Massacre, haha. I first saw it when I was probably around Thoren's age and I loved it. But it is a lesser known film and if you reacted to it then it might not get as many views/comments as some of the others so there is that risk. Might be better to save it for a little bit down the line when more subscribers might have seen it but that's completely up to you of course.
@@variablevisuals1625 Although now that I think about it, in Serial Mom there is a scene with one of the characters watching an adult film and enjoying himself under the covers. So that might be a bit of an awkward scene to react to with your son but the portion of the movie containing that scene is, like the movie itself, ridiculous and over the top.
Aside to Thoren...yeah, Hellraiser is objectively a bad movie. Budgetary constraints might have compromised the visuals, but that doesnt forgive the (mostly) wooden acting. After all, theres still the non wooden acting, which was far more of a hammy variety. Was a great story, Clive...but you should have gotten a proper director to direct it.
I actually hate (strong word but true) the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre BUT I love other films in the series. Texas Chain Massacre Part 2 (1986) is my personal favorite. Tobe Hooper made this movie as well but much more campy with gore. Chop-Top steals the movie from Leatherface. Worthy of a Watch & the version with Jessica Biel is also great. Enjoy your reactions. You are very talented with the camera & video footage.

it was also the size of a butter knife

Want some horror, watch "The Fly", version with Jeff Goldblum.
Moral of the story kids: don't ever go to rural Texas 😄
I've heard Ruggsville, TX is an interesting place.
Don't trespass property in rural TX loll.
@@MovementGraffiti that too 😄
This kid is anoying. Dad knows what is Good.
I literally felt that a new video came lmao

Thank you so much! Welcome! If I would have seen this at 12 I would have had the same reaction!!

Great reactions! In its day this movie was shocking. Many foreign countries banned it. I subbed!!

Ed Gein strikes again. He inspired so much crazy sh*t

Leotard and a football helmet 😅
Sometimes it's what they DON'T show, your mind fills it in. You want gore? Watch Hostel. You guys might like the Evil Dead series.

Sadly Marilyn Burns passed away a couple years ago.
Great reaction guys to a unsettling horror movie Pretty tame now but back then it was all the talk
Have to agree, it isn't that scary, just disturbing.
The game that was just released, is is pretty good, though, I've seen some gameplay.
Hellraiser is great. I’ll die on that hill lmao. Enjoy the reaction.
Franklin reminded me of Thoren just a bit.
🤣🤣😂😂 That's great!!
6 out of 10 is better than average but this was groundbreaking. People vomited and assed out watching it.
I'm new here 😂👋
How old is dad and how old is son, just out of curiosity?
Hellraiser and Phantasm both leave a lot to be desired.
What is a 10/10 according to Thoren
Lord of the rings were all 10s for him. Also terminator 2 was a 10 I believe.
People the truck can't move with a crushed body under the tire
This was partly true
People were cut up and killed
It was not to be good .lt was letting us know what happened
