Words can't even describe how amazing/special/beautiful/necessary this shiur is.. I remember YY Jacobson shiur about Yaakov/Eisav and Yosef and it opened up my heart to learning again .. and still the same Torah and each year the shiurim just get better and more relevant . Thank you Rabbi YY .. your shiurim always seem to be exactly what is needed at that time. ❤❤

I learned that the purpose of painful emotions is to inform us of where we are misaligned with Hashem. In those places we are either telling ourselves stories about ourselves that aren't true, and/or we have unmet needs that Hashem wants us to fulfill. We aren't meant to stay in the pain. We need to reprogram those untrue stories that are coming from the subconscious, and/or meet the unmet needs. The subconscious doesn't really know language so well, so we have to speak to it in its language, repetitious images plus emotions that serves as evidence of the truthful self-perception. Eventually the subconscious tells the new story and healing takes place.

Rabbi YY Jacobson is a genius because he's the one person in the world who "gets" the result of abandonment. ("Vayechi" He Lived)...The awesome aspect of the absurd "Information Age" is that an individual who wants to be a learner can learn.

Why do we only bless boys to be like menashe and efrayim? Women also need these messages and blessings...?

For the woman we bless in the names of sarah, rivkah, rachel and leah. Im sure that if the Rabbi gave a class on the deep blessings and powerful messages that come from these holy matriarchs the class would be double the length.
